I love your lego inspired instructions. The gen 1 grinder had to be my favourite grinder build. The gen 2 add so much to the design and now you have a metric version I am really excited! I think I'll be building my first grinder this year 😁👍👍👍👍👍👍

Jeremy you are an amazing young man. That is an incredible machine you have designed and built. Wish I had one years ago when I did Fabrication work. Seems like you have a pretty loyal bunch of followers best of life moving forward.

I always find it funny how often you use the grinder in the manufacture of the grinder. I know there are other ways to do those processes and it's just for convenience, but it's funny to imagine someone trying to build it and getting confused by the chicken and egg situation

Welcome back Jeremy! Great fabrication and instruction. We missed you but you haven’t missed a step.

Do not allow yourself to be or get pressured to make lots of videos. A few of your quality videos as time and your creativity lead you. Very few craftspeople RU-vidrs make money with their channels long term. They all (at least those that I watch or formerly watched ) seem to rise rapidly and then slowly decline or realize that it is a hard grind to make lots of quality videos. That is what is needed to keep the channel in the recommended feeds for everyone (ie Marketing your/their channel(s)). It does not make any difference of the genre of interest (ie farms, cars, metal working....) On a side note I have been getting recommendations for old videos of all types in my feed. I see that others are getting strange old recommendations, too. Although possibly relevant to searches or watched videos. I wonder if RU-vid is loosing subscribers due to their policies and by recommending older videos are trying to bump their watched video numbers. It would help RU-vid in their marketing for/to advertisers.

Hi Jer, been a while. Hope all is well with you. I must say, the gen 2 grinder and attachments are far superior to anything on the market. Plus, you get the satisfaction of building it yourself! Had an idea to throw at you to see if you're willing to design it and create the plans: Seems a lot of knife makers are creating add-on surface grinding attachments for their grinders, but frankly, they just seem like after thoughts. Either weird geometry, or awkward positioning in use. There are a couple of commercial attachments available, but they suffer from the same maladies it seems (not to mention expensive!). So, if your time and schedule can fit it, would love to see your version of a surface grinder attachment for the gen 2 grinder. I'm sure all your grinder fans would have no issue with paying for those plans as well. Take care!

Brilliant. Excellent work, Jeremy. I would love to build one of your grinders, it's undoubtedly the best I've seen.

This grinder is doper than the last! I can't bring myself to start over, but I'm glad to see you incorporated square tubing instead of the welded I-beams. I was just starting the large wheel attachment for my gen 1, so I'll be incorporating the DOM axle. I really appreciate the improvements to the small wheel grinder, so I will rebuild that attachment. So many good ideas!

Hi Jeremy, you can weld the inside corners shows at 6:36. what you need to do is put a big block of steel in between the fork at the other end. Either make the block an exact fit or shim it up. Then put some thick strips against the outside with a couple of heavy clamps, or put fork and block in a vice. With all the welds on the other sides distortion will be negligible, but the strength of the part will greatly increase.

This format that we use is a funny thing, we start to think of the people we watch as “friends” we get to know them, in a way, and yes, actually start to care about them because we can relate to them and the people we perceive them to be. While the actual person we watch and relate to may be somewhat different than the person on the screen, when you get to be my age 66, you can trust your instincts and know they are close if not spot on. 14:23 I might be speaking for myself--I sincerely doubt it--but I find welding to be not only incredibly interesting, but listening and watching a weld bead being laid down is some straight up ASMR.

If you put two tapped holes immediately adjacent and 180 degrees apart from the mounting holes for the platten to back up the belt you don't need the welded on bosses and can adjust the platten height and side to side alignment with the roller faces at both mounting points by screwing set screws in and out. The center line through each pair of jack screw holes should be 90 degrees to the center line for the mounting holes. 1/4 or 5/16 set screws would be sufficient.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what's the benefit of deflecting the belt re: the deflector wheel? Is it to allow full access to the contact wheel b/c of the radius size? I'm asking b/c it appeared to be very functional/effective with, or without the belt deflector [48.45]? It also seemed that the belt is naturally deflected b/c of the position of the wheel that follows the contact wheel [seen at 4.22]. These are *not* "complaints" at all; I'm more curious than anything. *I love the build; well done.*
