The end of the trilogy. I hope you all enjoyed looking at some iPhone clones. I have to admit I burnt myself out doing 3 big videos in quick succession so I'll take a small little break over easter (Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!) and when I feel good I'll do a bonus video looking at the GOOPHONE 6s and the GOOPHONE 6. I have looked at these before on the channel but...I'm not happy with them as they are old and crap now :) Anyways, let me know what you thought of this clone and I'll see you in the next one! Fyi: the front camera is a OmniVision OV9762 1.3MP that can go up to 1376x960 and 720p30 video recording and the back camera is a Sony Exmor IMX219 8MP that can shoot videos up to 1080p60 or 720p180, both are nice sensors that the processor and design of the phone itself can't use it's full capabilities.
I've said it 1000 times, if goophone ever put 2 gb of ram and 32gb of rom with a 5 year old helio p22 they'd sell 100x more than they ever did. A clone that a pre teen could use daily would be a great seller
Ehh, I think this is one of those phones that somebody would need to call 911, and they find out they either have no service or the phone app crashes on them. Just my opinion because they have to put their sketchy iOS skin on the phone and I don't have much confidence on it working well in the long run
These phones absolutely cannot be trusted with anything. They're not made to be usable, their only purpose is to look close enough to the original to fool people, and when someone's main goal is to scam people out of their money, they might do it at any given possibility. No one really knows what's going on in the background services on these phones, and with the amount of modifications the OS has (especially those fake iPhones), it's possible that they've dropped a keylogger or some similar malware somewhere, hoping that people would trust it enough to put their sensitive info in it.
I kind of agree. One of things that kept me shy from ever really getting into pokey devices is that it's always been little more than a choice between a phone that costs more than a paycheck, or a complete piece of garbage. For a little while there, it was possible to get a medium range device that wasn't hot garbage, but those days are gone. If your provider of choice uses AT&T towers, your ass is using a brand new 5G phone. If that phone didn't cost over $300, it's probably garbage. I'm really loving my Nokia G300. Huge upgrade over my Realme Narzo 5G. Both of those sentences are false.
@@Markworth na mate you're absolutely chatting, maybe midrange and lower end phones were garbage 10 years ago, now modern low-mid range phones are easily comparable to flagships a couple years ago, they've come a long way
Congratulations. You have encountered the pain of every Android user that couldn't afford (or didn't want to buy) a flagship phone for the past however many years. On phone storage is dogshit, so you add an SD card and tell Android to use that. Android notes your suggestion and ignores it completely because reasons. If you root the phone to force the matter, the phone will eventually brick itself. So you wind up having basically no apps on your phone and barely even get any use out of it until the battery kicks the bucket.
@@NickEter Sadly, 4G predates the existence of the decent cheap phones. I don't have time to try to remember all the janky model names, but the prepay plan section at your local store was loaded with absolute trash for nearly a decade.
In around 2013 this ChiProne had REALLY not that bad specs. And it’s the main problem, they’re using the same “pretty good” in 2012 hardware freaking 10 years, and now it’s garbage. As someone also said in comments, if they just put in there today’s “pretty good” hardware in today’s ChiPhones and work a little bit more with software, they will be pretty good.
I used to want this phone just to strain myself. I found a seller, legit told me that what they sold is “fake” (with some laughable BS like “Korean-grade”, standard quality, etc.), but they still managed to rip $150 off is very surprising.
No phone that uses the mt6580 has 4gb storage and a 1080x1920 screen, to get clean android you'll need to compile it yourself, port it from somewhere or remove the apps
This is not GooPhone, this is its replica. Yes, a replica of a replica. In 2013 or 14 I had a real GooPhone and its quality was much better, especially the quality of the UI. And even more, at the time it had REALLY not that bad specs, kinda the same as this.
Personally, when I FaceTime I connect my phone to a nest of bees rather than wifi. It's MUCH faster. I know a number of apps will NOT install to an SD card, I assume any Google app probably won't.
I remember that even when installing to the SD card, the apps would still use some space in the internal memory, they weren't fully installed on the SD card.
@@HeX341 Something to do with write permissions I believe. I don't recall offhand but it might have been that apps could only write to /Android/data or something like that. Or maybe it was in order for the system to find an app installed on SD it needed to create a symlink. Android has definitely come a long way
@@HeX341 oh man, that feature was crap. In order to actually move most of the app to the sd card , you had to format it as internal storage. If you didn't reformat the sd card, 95% of the storage is still on the internal storage which matters a lot for games. They got rid of that format as internal storage option in the newer Android versions.
I would love to continue with it, but doing the same content over and over burns me out. I mean with just these 3 GOOPHONES, I was already at breaking point again. So i'll take it easy and then show the 6 and 6s and then finish it up for now. The rest of the clones are just a bunch of other 3G/4/4S and one 5 clone. But I would have to break it up to maybe once a month or something. I hope these uploads were still great nonetheless!
The optical quality of that rear camera is surpassingly good. If it had better software to address the dynamic range shortcomings, it would be acceptable for casual online content.
oh boi there's another one. how many frikin goophone are out there lol?? anyway it doesn't look like too bad after all, i mean with that cpu memory and ram it's a miracle how it actually performed. the cameras where not bad as well, so with more effort it kind of look like a legit iphone. (some translations where priceless XD) oh and take your time, you can't rush art. we can wait, remember that the most important thing is your health in the first place!
I can't believe some people wished to buy this terrible clone back in the day =-O They would pay for a thing where 90% of the apps are for decoration and you have space for 1 extra app.
bro so those stupid sneakers took down the iconic smooreznstuff? i remember watching it but then i wondered why the channel wasn't appearing in my recommended and searching it didn't show the channel at all
Actually it's not that anymore. I just wear them as part of the channel. I did wear them due to an injury and was meant to have it fixed in 2020, but things happened and I didn't get it done but now that 2 years have passed, they are fine now but without the bandaids - there is no SMOOREZ.
"Fighting the landlord in the Golden list" "New year edition" isn't that those games where you had the ads on Instagram that was all about being poor to rich in an instant or those where you choose what happened to your baby lol?
One time in my life i hold in my hands a very rare chineese prototype clone iphone 5, it has original screen, battery, housing, CAMERA, but the board was a green color and has a mtk chip on it, it was running aosp android 4.0.4, camera was not working due to software but the original screen button connectivities etc was work fine, i was very inpressed, and now i am hunting for this "clone" do you hear something about it?
You should see if that screen can be sourced or something. It's a surprisingly nice 1080p screen. Ironically far higher res than the real iPhone 7+. Was it taken from another phone?
Not about this Phone but the Welcome devices, does anyone know of any custom roms for them? I was given a phone marketed as the Mate36 pro, also branded as LEIOA on the back by someone who fell for the lies in the listing and i really need to get the dam adverts and other malware off it so i can make use of it. The 'phone' is junk and completely unusable as a phone but it is good enough to be the interface on a smart thermostat project i want to implement.
I don't think there are any custom roms for these generic devices. But one thing you could do is root the phone using those "1-click to root" programs and delete the malware that way. Or, if you wouldn't like to root it, install "No-root firewall" and disable internet access for system apps that are malware
@@amanguver its definitely rootable, I did that but then found a ROM for it which I thought was going to be untainted android and flashed it but it contained all the same junk and malware. Flashing it removed root so I'll have to re root it, I didnt think about removing pre installed junk using a root enabled removal tool, I've done that in the past to remove unwanted stuff from a sony xperia, thanks for reminding me! The welcome phones are junk but they do have a use as display devices, the one I have copes fine with the thermostat project and also my CCTV but the malware makes it impossible to use as is as the adverts constantly and I mean constantly pop up full screen and even open the web browser and goes to sites!
at least they got that right.... like apple in the stock market is AAPL and it actually appears in apple own webside and google is GOOG if you put google stock market lol... appears as "NASDAQ: GOOG" and apple as "NASDAQ: AAPL"
