Da thirst for Erwin cracks me up EVERY TIME!!!

I have a bit of an issue with the translation for the part when Annie's father is talking to her in this, it makes it sound as if he's spurring her to make an enemy of the whole world. I prefer this translation: Annie's father to her "It was wrong of me...I won't ask for your forgiveness now. But...all i ask of you...is one thing. Even if you turn the whole world against you, it's okay. Even if the entire world ends up hating you...just know that your dad is always on your side. So promise me...that you'll come back." Make of that what you will, but i think it gives a clearer, better idea of what is/was going on.

As I said in the previous reaction, from Eren's internal conflict of not being able to transform up to the very end where Annie was escaping and later the whole crystallization thing, it was a lot different from how it went down in the manga. In the manga, Eren was able to transform after accepting this cruel reality and then afterwards, he and the SC closely worked together to take down Annie, to which they succeeded. There was no fiery raging Eren, Eren was the one to help throw Mikasa up to Annie as she was climbing up the wall, and there was no weird "they're fusing" thing that happened (it was just Annie crystallizing herself as Eren was about to pull her body out of her titan). Overall, Eren was in control of himself and he worked really well with the others in taking down Annie. It was fantastic teamwork and control, but in this S1 finale, they made it more shounen I guess.

I want to hate Annie because she's killed so many people, but I kinda can't help but love her character and find her inner struggle really intriguing. It's always interesting to see a villain who knows what they're doing is wrong, but chooses to do it anyway.

That merging/fusion did not happen in the manga. Please don't over think that. It was to be show-y for the finale and quite frankly never happens again. It was a poor choice and Isayama expressed his dismay at it later on. Don't worry about it.

16:50 Yeah, it's interesting to see the contrast between the Scout Regiment and the MPs who don't know the horror of titans. Jean also came to that same realisation last episode when he said "I can't believe I ever wanted to be part of the same group as these guys. Look at them, gawking like fools." 16:15 But to be fair the MPs are technically there to ensure law and order in the capital, and most importantly (it would seem) protect the rich and powerful, it seems inevitable that they would pick up the bad habits of some filthy rich people, especially if such behavior is normalised within the regiment. Which it seems it was, as shown by the two dudes congratulating Marlo on being such a crooked little shit already when they thought he was blackmailing them. All of that compounded to them being woefully unprepared for what transpired in Stohess that day. Not that anybody could have fully prepared for that kind chaos mind you.

Regarding the different branches of law and order in the world of Attack on Titan, the Survey Corps. seems to have more wiggle room when it comes to rules simply because they dgaf about them! lol And also, there's the fact that they seem to be the only branch of the government concerned with unearthing schemes that could destroy their society, and that includes corrupt officials or rebel factions within the military.

S2 is beyond imaginable!

This series has a lot of questions and clues, and it's as frustrating as it is engaging. Even currently in the manga, there are still questions that demand answers, but far less so as the series is coming to a close. So dw, all if not most things will be answered EVENTUALLY 😂

2:42 - 17:15 I wouldn't say that he doesn't care. Out of everyone in the Survey Corps Eren's probably the most empathetic person. He's always been defiant in the face of injustice, hence why all throughout the Female Titan arc he was so against following orders from his superiors: remember how many of his comrades in the Survey Corps had to die during the last expedition and how he felt about it? Still, part of his character arc has to do with learning that sometimes a situation is so dire that hard decisions have to be made and he has to learn to follow orders no matter how cruel and unjust they may seem. He struggled with that in the forest and in episode 24, but he was finally able to do it here in episode 25. However, I also think it's important to mention that when he finally threw all his humanity away and went all out, he almost fucked up the mission. So as you said, things aren't so black and white. I will say that I felt the manga handled this better. By the time Eren confronted Annie in the city, he had already learned to restrain his rage and not fuck things up after what happened in the forest, so ultimately he was able to defeat Annie easily with the help of the corps. I felt the anime stretched things out to make the finale more action-packed and over the top.
