I think criticism is valid for any form of art, but the bullying and intense ad hominem against Isayama is uncalled for. Probably the same people who threaten the MAPPA animators just for doing their job. At the end of the day any opinions you have on the work itself is valid, but don’t go threatening and abusing the people behind it like an entitled brat.

I didn't realize just how well he wrote the female characters until I started watching more anime, jesus, the trash that's out there lol

@@coldstuff9784 yeah and imagine who really trash on Aot, they seriously act like a story like Aot is so common in today's media Man they don't realize Aot is a story you find once in decade or even long!! Never seen such a story who can manage a pacing like that even after the basement reveal and yet makes goated plot twists afterwards!!

there are also Hange who is smart but had insecurities being leader because she is a researcher to the blood but in the end she became the real leader, the tsundere Hitch, the smart but unique Pieck, Kaya and Gabi with great character developments, and so on.

Even though I believe most female characters are written well, at the end of the anime, they were abandoned. I genuinely thought it was one of the greatest writing of the century but the last chapters and the conclusion changed everything. Mikasa has never been a well-written character, and she never will be. She had zero character development throughout the series. She was just an obedient weapon who yelled Ereh every second. (like Ymir Fritz.) Most female characters are either dead, frozen, or turned into a baby machines.

@@HomoAlone1 did you read the manga or only watch the anime? Mikasa had chara development. If you read ch 50, you will understand. Before ch 50, Mikasa relationship with Eren was toxic. She was somehow like Yandere who had zero trust to Eren, act like his mom, protected him but in a way that didn't give Eren space to built his own confidence. After ch 50, Mikasa looked more compose and she started to trust Eren. She was still care but in different manner. Like how she left Eren and Armin who fought Bert while she and the others fought Reiner. She was worried but put trust in them. Her chara development was challenged again after Eren left her until final episode. The other characters also had chara developments, including Annie who opened up more, even to Hitch. And chara development also could be in regression type like Historia who was back to the state of being obedience like puppet queen due to pressure she received. Isayama draw his characters in varied type of chara developments, because like real people, there are those who became good from bad, and those who became bad from good. Personally, Sasha is the only character that i think was wasted by Isayama. It's such a pity that he gave her post mortem chara development through her parents, kaya, nicolo, and gabi, when he could give her own chara development when she was still alive.

This is a take I absolutely agree with. You are calling out the toxic and unacceptable behaviour of people threatening Isayama without dismissing the fair and legitimate criticism of the ending, while still acknowledging that overall AOT is still an amazing and goated series.

those "fans" you talk about are literally like 0.01% of people that saw the ending tbh. the rare fish that end up on land are always the loudest, but don't forget that most fish keep quiet in the water

This comment is what should everybody listen. Just appreciate that we are still alive to experience from chapter 1 to chapter 139 and the anime that Isayama exec directed until it's finished.

Since Eren is dead, I don't really think anything of Mikasa and Jean getting married. I think that endings in which most of the characters die are common and boring. I think the difference between the impressions of foreign fans and Japanese fans is the difference in the sense of religion.
