The scene at the sea makes me cry every damn time. The thought that all this time they thought that once they got here, once they could see the sea, they would be free at last. Only to have that be replaced with an enemy far greater than before. It’s such a sad and hopeless scene I always tear up. I can feel the weight on Eren’s heart

The Armin/Erwin was really a 50/50 but Armin was a good choice not only for his tactics and intelligence but also his Mercy and his optimism for the Future. The only thing that would've made Erwin a "better choice" is that he'd be a better Titan, hed use the colossal Waaaaay more than Armin does. But hed be more brutal tactision willing to do stuff that Armin isnt, like be a Yeagerist and sacrifice an entire squadron, I think Erwin would support Eren fully with his plan. Whatever you think is _better_ is a matter of opinion.

The big problem isnt the capability of the Eldians, it's that the founding titan is in the hands of a usurper. If the royals still had it the King would be in control and not fight so they can leave them alone for the most part. Since Eren has it and they don't know how the power is activated it's like an apocalypse level threat.

Most people don't realize that Floch was being a hypocrite in his speech, he wanted to revive Erwin for emotional reasons too (ex. when he was saying that he should "taste more of this hell"). The point of that scene was just to show how Floch is wracked with survivor's guilt, not that saving Erwin was the "right" thing to do.

Wit Studio ended their contract here at the end of season 3. Season 4 will be animated by Mappa studio. The character design and art direction will change alot. They used Isayama's original design instead of Wit's design and used CGI for Titan. They did the season 4 in a record time. 8-9 months for 16 episodes also in the worst period possible: the pandemic period in 2020. ( Season 2 took 4 years in full operational's studio) So the quality of the season 4's animation will be reduce, there is also alot of cut scene that was in the manga that we couldnt see but its still good. Sorry for my english

Hey Guys I don't know if this has been answered or not, but I remember watching an interview or like another comment explaining the shell and its meaning. As children both Eren and Armin and focused/interested in the sea but for very different reasons. Armin is fixated on the sea specifically so he is holding a sea shell from the sea but, Eren was more interested on the idea of "freedom" and going beyond the wall, as such instead of holding anything found specifically on the sea, he is seen looking beyond the sea. Just found this interesting and worth sharing

The nuke analogy was right but wrong question was asked. The better question is: Let's say only 1 country in the world has nukes. And they're hoarding it in their island. Do you think the rest of the world, with so many ideologies and perspectives, would just be okay with that? What if this country has had a history of nuking other countries and subjugating them? After they moved, declared isolation, and issued a cold war threat saying don't touch us otherwise we unleash our nukes, would the world be okay with that?

Eren and Mikasa saving Armin over Erwin made more sense. Maybe Erwin would've been the better choice, but not by much. Eren has the Attack Titan in him and you need to make him happy and sane. Losing Armin like that would of messed him up imo. He's already super emotional and going through a lot. Armin would of died for him and he didn't really have a reason to live at that point. It was mainly to look at the sea w/ Armin and finding peace w/ his friends. Besides killing all the titans ofc.

Erwin himself confesses to Levi that he is willing to sacrifice everyone and everything just to find the truth, there is no future with Erwin, he is one of the most selfish characters but just because he is a slightly more competent strategist than someone like Shadis everyone is stuck with him as commander even if he has one of the most selfish ideals Erwin ain't got shit on Armin

Pat’s not wrong, floch spit truth in this episode, he just threw his beliefs aside to be a genocide t fascist with eren. He was a sniveling bitch in season 3 but he was correct about people and how poorly they were acting on motivations that weren’t always unselfish. He could have been such a good character and it’s a good example of how seeing others for what they are doesn’t always stop you from becoming a terrible person too.

through floch u can see the varying philosophies of isayama himself, he created such a compelling story, either of those philosophies would do well. floch is mentioned as the devils advocate in this show, he is actually isayamas advocate.
