Attack On Titan: S01/Ep01 REACTION

If you end up getting into Attack on Titan, do not, I repeat, do not look at the comments, do not look up characters, and avoid anything on the internet related to this show. Everything is a spoiler. In some shows, spoilers won't really hurt your enjoyment of the show much, but for AoT, the story lives and dies by its twists and surprises. If you avoid spoilers like the plague, I promise you this will be one of the most enjoyable shows you'll ever watch, the story is so masterfully put together and the action is up there with the best of the best.

This show does have a lot of death, and the impact of the deaths are definitely confronting, HOWEVER it’s not actually as gory as you’d expect. If someone get eaten, it usually cuts off before they get bitten.

I hope you will keep watching until season 3, thats where things gets heated 💥

One of the most well written anime/manga of all time, you're in for a ride

Also, yeah, noticed this while I was watching along, but for some reason it says Zhiganshina on some subtitled versions of the show. It's supposed to be Shiganshina, which is arguably much easier to pronounce

This show starts off very black and white and slowly becomes all greys. Very Worth Watching

The part where you said "killed her like a birdie" was so on point, the song in this scene is actually called "Vogel im Käfig" which means Bird in a Cage.

YESS! What an amazing decision you took!! I was only subscribed for RWBY reactions and now let's go with Attack on Titan! That's an amazing show, everything is god tier level, the most incredible thing with it is the number of times you thought you understood the plot and then A BIG REVEAL is made, making the story completely different! But the animation, the ost, the story, EVERYTHING is damn excellent there! It's only the beginning of something I expect huge, I can't wait to rewatch all those with you reactions

Oh dang didn't expect this reaction! It can be a spooky show at times with some horror elements, but it also has a sort of a mystery element to it. Like "what are those things?" "What do they want?" "How did this happen?" So I guess it could be labeled as a "Mysterious Horror show" On another note- Dang man you seem to react to everything! Don't wear yourself out just because we recommended a show, don't be afraid to wait to watch something until you have time. We don't want ya to rot away watching to many shows lol.

There are some comedic relief characters present in this show, just to lift the heaviness of the show of your shoulders. But those comedic relief character will be a part of the cast in episode 3 or 4.

this is a very dark/serious and deep/advanced (lots of philosophy, human behaviorism/nature, politics, and etc) anime, but it's not "too" gratuitous in its gore (there's far worse, lol), violent yes, but it's not "too" bad, it doesn't get that much worse than what you've seen in this episode: giants (titans) eating people, severed limbs/etc. It does touch upon some dark stuff, but doesn't get too into it, so it's not too bad. Attack On Titan is pretty much pg-13, though it's closer to rated-R than to PG, of course, but it's still pretty soundly pg-13 in its content, dark/serious, but not too bad. There's far worse stuff, this is pretty "tame", laughs. Horror movies are far worse than this, so if you can watch horror movies than this is a cakewalk. Also, this does have some very funny moments and amazing comedy too, along with great action/fights, but overall, it is a dark/serious show in its story/plot and content. This is one of the few animes, that doesn't have much "fanservice/ecchi" (sexual content/innuendos/flashing-nudity/vulgar-jokes/etc like most anime and especially american/hollywood comedy movies have), so if you don't like that stuff, then you don't have to worry with Attack On Titan, as there's practically none type of stuff in this anime/show.

I don't know how to explain this, but can you split the other half part like 1/3 of the anime in the upper left of the screen so we can see more? So the subtitles still remain same but added the other part (just a little like 1/3 part and not full) in the upper left Just suggestion tho, it's alright if you can't still enjoying your reaction peace ✌️

believe me ur head will explode after watching this anime and at the end of some episodes u will get confused of what's going on and the animation is so cool & smooth and the plot is awesome as well the story and the characters :D

The wall isn't 50 feet, it's 50 meters, so that's more like 165 feet tall. Regardless, loved your reaction man. Also, the info in the transition midway through the episodes is integral to the world building of the anime, as it includes a lot of stuff from the manga that they can't go through due to lack of time.

I am so glad you gave it a shot and started watching it :D the story will reveal itself slowly but there will be a lot of questions and mysteries at the start especially in first season but dont worry it will all come together...btw those short informations like those about Walls...there will be more of them and sometimes a lot of text...i recommend to stop it for a sec and read it all bcs its like "available information to public" so its something that they wont talk about in show but you might find interesting and usefull...like what horses they use that can outrun titans, how big is actually the area between walls, where do they get materials etc etc Edit: Small funfact...Hajime Isayama, creator of manga and this whole show, drew faces of titans of his collegues (sometimes even celebrities or even voice actors of this anime) and their movement and smiles or face they make he got inspired by drunk people :D i hope next time you see them it wont disturb you that much :DD

You need to remember this episode and season 1 in total everything connects

If you are really curious about size of the walls I can tell you that the RADIUS of the district in which the walls are located is 480 km. It's massive asf

im really happy you started to react to this , season 1 is really dark and the plot isnt very developed , still great though but after season 1 it just gets insanely great and mindblowing , looking forward to the rest of the reactions!

The show is a lot more then just fighting and gore, as the seasons progress you'll see all the secrets and explanation for a lot of things, its really worth it! Beware of spoilers, they're everywhere x-x

Even if it doesn't hook you in by than, you should watch more than 3 episodes. It takes until like episode 5 or 6 until the shows main gimmick is introduced.

I first watched that episode when I was 10 years old! It's very disturbing but that's what I love about the show. Absolute favorite anime.. incredibly well made and dont get me started with the soundtrack..! Every season is a 10 for me, but S3 Part 2 is my favorite.

Enjoyed the reaction. I absolutely love the re-cap of the episode end.Understanding everything said and shown will better the experience.Definitely reccomend continuing it only gets better from here. This show is very dark and emotional but there are some funny moments here and there and a bunch of parodys. Theres something called attack on titan Junior High which is a comedic parody of the show and you get to see the characters without all the deaths and disturbing stuff from the anime. If you catch up with this and feel empy after finishing I would consider watching aot junior high

People who said negative things about Attack on Titan most probably have never seen the series past season 1. The first few episodes are very gory after the first seven or so eps is when it ramps up that's when it get really good

Its power may decrease since you've lost context about the series, but the episode is most definitely beautiful even if its standalone. Aot is the only anime where some of it's community can't help itself to spoil people who are new.. it's like "Hehe this person new to the anime let's drop some KNOELEDGE because I read the manga!" I'm not saying all manga readers are like this I'm a manga reader myself but it pisses me off when someone acts like they're higher than some people cuz they know "everything" so they ruin people's journey with this anime.

If you don't like reading subtitles, the English dub really isn't as bad as everyone says. The voice acting isn't quite as good as the Japanese, but if it means getting to watch all the scenes without your eyes glued to subtitles, I think it's a fair tradeoff. Obviously the choice is up to you, so go with whichever way you'd prefer to watch it.
