3:55 - Grisha's facial expressions, starting from when he says goodbye to his second family, and the life he built inside the walls of Paradis, right up until he stands before the cellar, with that blood shot sky and the crows in the distance, will haunt me for the rest of my days. That scene hurt me more than watching Grisha's mental breakdown and apology to Zeke. He died not knowing if his friends and family were saved, he died thinking he failed both of his sons, and worst of all he died never knowing if all his suffering & sacrifices, made any difference whatsoever. Farewell to the boy who dared to venture outside the walls, in search of the truth of this world, but only found cruelty.
He actually died thinking that what he did was worse than nothing since he saw Eren use the Rumbling. That's why he tells Zeke he regrets listening to Eren and begs Zeke to stop him
But one thing we know, Grisha did break the cycle that Kruger spoke of or at least lead to it in someway. He tried his best to escape from the forest, yet he couldn't and shouldn't, for he is already too late from changing the course. Eren has the chance to escape from it too, yet he wouldn't.
On a positive note my fav scene too. Grisha walks up to the royal family and says "I'm an Eldian from outside the walls. A subject of Ymir just like all of you" For the first time he was not facing a power that would deny him. He believed the Marleyans were against him because they were not subjects of Ymir. He could not turn to anyone for help. When he finally meets the king he says "I'm just like all of you" ie I am from the same nationality and ethnic background, I have a family too (children, wife friends neighbours, loved ones) just like you, please save me I am just like you. He tries to get their sympathy but once again he was turned away because of selfish self-righteous beliefs and misplaced justice. At this point, he loses hope and it probably pushes him to do what he does. "If no one helps me not even my own people, not even God, then I will turn to the devil." At which point he is in Eren's hand. Grisha is truly tragic character. S tier and masterful writing if only the ending could be half as good as this
Yeah bro I was searching Ymir backstory theme f for ages but I could not find it but today I watched memories of the future and I realise it must be related to that episode and My God am I glad that I found it now
When the episode dropped, this particular scene stuck with me because of the visuals with the amazing ost. I immediately searched for this ost. It was beautiful. The storytelling, the sequence of events, was just perfect.
“Since the day I was born, this is who I’ve been. When you learned you had a brother you thought he’d be the same as you. But you were wrong. If someone tries to take my freedom from me, I’ll take theirs first without a second thought. It wasn’t because of anything Dad did. I came into this world ready for a fight. I’m not some pathetic little boy in need of a big brothers guidance. And if you hoped we’d bond over our ‘shared’ emotional scars you’re out of luck. Here’s what you’ve shown me, Zeke: you resent your father because he cared more about restoring Eldia than raising a son. Opposing him is all you could think to do with your life. You’ve shown me a pathetic man still haunted by the ghost of his father.”
"You cannot found the pathetic little brother that you were hoping for" "Nor the little brother that shares your emotional trauma" "The only man I see here is a pathetic man who cannot define himself except by denying his own father"
The red sky with crows flying is literally beautiful imagery of the horrid shit he will have to do and also what the future is going to bring Jesus this is so lit
Griesha is such Tragic and great character. After all he has been through he has to leave his second family also and destroy the Reiss family. Even after all he has been through, he still can't kill the Reiss kids. His eyes at 4:00 at the background score!
The sadness that hit him when he Eren Kruger told him the truth about the king being a coward that will not fight. I even feel sorry for the king a little bit if you think about it
Exactly really displays the rollercoaster of sadness that is Grisha's life. Can't believe people hated this character one of the true victims of the show just because he wanted to take his sister to see an airship.
I may hate how AOT ended but the journey was worth it, I still love the great parts of Attack on Titan and frankly the fact that this show made such a moving story is commendable, I still love it despite my strong opinions about how it ended or how it handled post-timeskip.
The song version on youtube music only plays the second half of the song, can you please upload a version that plays all 5 minutes? This sounds amazing!
The piano part at 0:26 I know is from something else, I was rewatching the show and it comes up so much and I love it but I cant find a clear recording of it any help?
This ost is yet to be released officially on 12 Jun I think but the names are revealed in pv... I think it's called "manchild" This ost is dedicated to eren cuz he is a manchild but also to grisha/zeke/eren dynamic cuz grisha represents the man side and zeke and eren represents the child one... I think this ost might be played in ch 131 adaption
SPOILER: I definitely think they’ll use this song for the alternative life of Eren and Mikasa. The one where he decides to live out his days before the curse takes him
That would be a good place for it. I also think it would fit in the scene where SPOILER: Armin and Zeke talk in the Paths and Armin convinces Zeke to help them by resurrecting the dead friendly Shifters
@@brandonwilliams4050 ah yes I forgot about that scene. Fits really well there too. Perhaps they’ll use it. Perhaps it’ll be something new. Mappas been killing it with the music so far
@@brandonwilliams4050 I hope to god that shit changes in the anime. That happy power of friendship bullshit.I really hope they come out with an anime original.
@@user-uc7zf1xd8p Eh I actually kind of liked the ending. It was somewhat disappointing and there were a LOT of things I wished were more fleshed out and given time to develop, but I don’t have an overall problem with it. I still think Eren should have flattened the outside world and been done with it, but once I accepted that wasn’t going to go that way, I think it was done as best as possible. ...although I guess having them kill a legitimately hateful and depraved Eren to defend the last remnants of humanity’ ala Knives the Millions from Trigun would have been pretty cool too.
