I definitely think the Zora/Ruta plot was the best and certainly the deepest in the game

This music fits the "hero fighting a gigantic ancient machine" theme so well it's like it was composed for your daydreams from back when you were a child.

The Zora/Ruta plot had everything Action, Adventure, Romance, Revenge for your Fishy Girlfriend.

man ... i wish i could play this for the first time again...

It’s hard to appreciate how incredibly epic all of the songs for the boss battles are while you’re playing because you’re not only concentrating on not getting Link blasted to smithereens by lasers, but also being given directions by the spirit of a Champion or Sidon or whatever NPC is assisting Link during the battle.

Remember guys, be the version of yourself Sidon knows you can be.

I can barely articulate why I love this theme so much - all I'll say is that it sounds as though, strangely enough, it reveres a certain grand, sacred beauty, while mourning the fact that it has become so corrupt that it must be met with ferocity. The bass marches with an unrelenting pattern of militant triads that errantly pound forward - it is the duty of the hero, after all, to charge onward with no regard for his own fear or trepidation - but the melody lingers on as long as it can, clinging to the cusp of every phrase, as if to plea that such a thing of beauty may receive mercy. It is the perfect musical expression of a desperate, yet energized duty to take up arms against something that is beautful.

Such a momentous battle, a statue of both Sidon and Link in his Zora Armor was made in memory of their epic feat in avenging Mipha and calming Vah Ruta in 'Tears of the Kingdom'.

The "shock arrows ready?" theme

Now that was a fight I loved and would love to play again. Absolutely epic, I felt so immersed I could imagine myself speeding up the waters and up the sky to save Mipha.

This melody has a very strong “Ghibli studio” feel. Like it was written for “Ponyo On The Cliff”.

This is a real combat theme.

The vibe music always gets me

I just played this game from the beginning for fun and got to this fight. Vah'Ruta fight is epic and this theme has no business being this good! Even thought I had played it before, I was at the edge of my seat!

The beginning sounds like the Zelda 2 dungeon theme.

Ima summarize how the whole thing went on my first BoTW playthrough when I was doing Divine Beast Vah Ruta-(it was the first one I did) Sidon: “Could you break that ice?” Me: “Perfect timing for that new power I got! I think I can use it here!” *breaks all the ice and ready thunder arrow* Also me: *has 0% accuracy and on the last one I only have 1 shock arrow left* *somehow doesn’t miss* “YESSS, FINNALY I DEFEATED IT-“ Sidon: You must go inside and do this and that and terminals Me: NOOOOO *gets all the terminals* “Finally, I’m done! Now I just need to activate this…uhm…Thingy, and then I’ll beta this divine beast thing! Waterblight Ganon: exists Me: *turns off switch* “Nope.” *turns it back on again* *gets waterblight on first try* “Well that wasn’t too hard….alright, what do I have to do now?! WHEN AM I DONE-oh look, it’s a fish” *gets Mipha’s grace and finally defeats divine beast* *proceeds to forget about the game for a few years until the sequel is announced* *then starts to play again and starts the next divine beast*

Something about this makes me want to cry in a good way. It's such a good theme. Heroic vengeance mixed with grief for a fallen sister and fiancee(?), while attacking a giant mechanical ice+water elephant with electricity?? It's so cool and sad, and my a-level music brain is buzzing saying all the technical reasons why it works so well. That with the nostalgia of this being my first divine beast

I love how this song was used again in phase four of the water temple theme.

I miss the divine beasts so much in Totk

People always talk about BoTW not having memorable tracks, but at least for me, there were quite a few that stood out. Both this and the Vah Ruta dungeon themes in particular are fantastic, IMO.

I wish we had more parts like this in botw and totk, makes me feel so heroic and awesome during these parts
