The reason this fight seems so powerful compared to the other ones is the emotion and what's at stake. Unlike a damage to their pride like for the Rito, a drop in tourism like for the Gorons, or a threat to a town like for the Gerudo, this battle could decide the fate of the kingdom even before Zelda runs out of power. If you fail this, the entire kingdom of Hyrule could be flooded, even beyond Wind Waker levels. As for emotion, when you fight Vah Ruta, you aren't just fighting for a friend or rival. You are fighting for the soul of the one who loved you, and still does, even in death. That is why battling Divine Beast Vah Ruta seems more powerful than all the others.

This shit was so lit that they put up a statue of the scene in Tears of the Kindom, replacing Mipha's 💀

The game peaked to early for me. The other divine beasts didn't reach this awe IMO.

It was when this music started playing that I truly realised the scope of Breath of The Wild

The thing that makes this song so epic is because the composers mixed Mipha's theme and Sidon's theme together to make the best yet emotional theme to avenge one of the champions. It also makes me really pumped up because Sidon has waiting all this time to avenge his sister and it really pulls my heart strings

Only cleared this Divine Beast so far, but holy shit if this wasn't the best moment in the game

The other areas in the game didn't feel as developed compared to the Zora domain, which is sad since this was my first area, as well as many others due to how close it was

When I got on Sidon’s back and this started playing, I was legit scared. But as I hit the Beasts weak points and destroyed the ice using crynosis I felt better, but that chorus and other orchestral instruments still made it sound it scary and I love it. Definitely favourite of the Divine Beast attacks themes

it actually sounds like sidon got the chance to revenge for his sister, plus the way he carries link & keeps encourages link, literally a heroic epic, for both link and sidon

Well considering how the theme is meant to reflect the Divine Beasts. The elephant is the largest living land mammal, and there is some amount of majesty to that. The theme being a lot more booming, with drums and trumpets. Its association with water is definitely indisputed. Vah Ruta is depicted as such, an elephant with water affinty. An elephant is generally docile but when provoked, its fury will wreak havoc. They could have chosen something more threatening like a sea serpent of sorts, but this choice was ultimately a good one. An expectation subversion if you will. Just watching the battle of Vah Ruta gives chills and Sidon's aiding you is one of the best moments of the game, and this theme has a large partvto play in it--!

Picture this: Zelda leading the new hyrule army, link leading the sheikhah, purah leading an army of guardian scouts, riju leading the gerudo, king dorephan and sidon leading the Zora, Reba leading the rito, yunobo leading the gorons and all are coordinating and attack on Ganondorf and his army at hryle castle. All that WHILE this music is playing

I just begun to go against Ruta. As someone who has never played a single Zelda game until BotW, I can say with a heavy heart, what better way to make a great first Divine Beast fight for me than with this music included! I went with Ruta as my first D.B, and this music I LOVE!! Why didn't I get on the Zelda train sooner!

Soon as I heard parts of this theme in the Zora dungeon in TOTK, I knew I had to beat it ASAP. Love my Zora buddies

I like the fact that Sidon's ride make part of the Hero's Path.

Frankly I think it's the atmosphere that makes the divine beast raids the most spectacular. But when I say that, I literally mean the weather. Ruta and Naboris gave me the most chills because of the rain / sandstorm effects, to the point where I kind of wished they did some sort of snowstorm aesthetic with Medoh. Honestly, I have no idea how you would change Rudania's mission to make it better in that regard, though.

This game barely plays any music. But when it does, it’s a fucking bop

This part is still one of my favorites, easily followed by Vah Medoh. They really shouldn't have put Zora's Domain SO close to the first places you go to in the story.

Easy the most memorable divine beast

Don’t lie.. you’re here after beating the water temple

This song reminds me of the time I was riding on my fish girlfriend's brother's (aka my boyfriend) back and was shooting arrows charged with electricity at waterfalls on a giant robot elephant to stop the flow, so I could get on. All the while, I was trying to dodge ice cubes, and if I got hit, my fish boyfriend would politely ask me if I was okay, then keep going. Then, once I got on and activated all five terminals, I had to fight a giant demon thing which was responsible for killing my fish girlfriend and it threw ice cubes at me and once I killed it, my fish girlfriend showed up and she had green fire around her and it was super weird then she gave me a ball and when I die, she'll come out of the ball and heal me end of story.

This was the first Divine Beast I did, and like other people here have stated, none of the other Divine Beast battles struck me with such amazement and the excitement of battle. Also Zora’s Domain just makes me feel so warm and sad at the same time because of Mipha’s tragic death.

Can everyone just take a moment to appreciate the instruments and voices used to create this masterpiece. Goosebumps can't wait to see the orchestra live one day

Between the four divine beast my fav is Vah Ruta because 4 things: Good assault music A touching Champion's backstory Good boss terrain A scary and imponent inside music

This track is so awesome. It makes riding Prince Sidon and firing arrows even more epic. It even creates a nice cinematic in your head!

I almost cried a bit when I freed vah Ruta and Mipha from the clutches of Gannon. She was the most emotional one out of the five champions of Hyrule because of her big heart

This is easily the best divine beast fight, Naboris comes close, but this one's better. It's just a bit of a shame that it's the first most go to, what with proximity and Mipha's grace Ruta also has the best boss

This theme. I haven't heard it since I took down Ruta with Sidon. I remember riding on Sidon's back while being extremely nervous. But Sidon's belief in me calmed my soul and I broke the ice coming towards us, used the shock arrows, and defeated the Divine Beast. It is all thanks to Sidon. Without him, I could have never achieved this. Thank you, my friend.

The music has so much emotion for me. For me it has Sidon’s love and affection for Mipha and wanting to avenge her sister with Link. One of my favourite pieces in this beloved soundtrack ❤️😊🔥

I had done this Beast last in the order I ran them, and so when this ... THIS music started,.... gods..... it just made it feel so much more intense, this was the last one, the last fight before it was time to end the war with Ganon and liberate the world.

I'm gonna buy a pair of waterproof earphones just for the pleasure of listening to this track during my swim workouts

This was my first Divine Beast fight. When they said that I was strong enough I was like “Nonono, you’re joking bro” But this was seriously one brilliant fight. The soundtrack was amazing and I’m glad I got to use Cryosis for once.

The one Water Dungeon everyone loves

I love how Nintendo worked the design of the map so that the Zoras are much likely to be the first people a player will visit, thus leading to the Zoras having the best side story, so that the player can directly enter the action of the game and see how important the Divine Beasts really are.

This is the best theme out of all of them. Its a real battle theme.

Yeah you can use cryonis, but swinging the big silver sword behind your back and deflecting this ice is 900% cooler.

I remember how gobsmacked I was with this fight. I thought it was EPIC. Then you get to ENTER the freaking beast. I didn’t know that was a dungeon and I was like: OMGGGG this is soooo COOL. Best feeling I had in the game. Ever more exhilarating than finishing the game. Ugh! I miss this game so very much

When this game first came out, Vah Ruta was the first beast I went to as the game kind of leads you in that direction but THIS was the moment the whole game clicked for me. I knew the game was a masterpiece then and there and now TotK's Rito village section is giving me the same vibes here. Love the epic scale!

I’ve never felt this cool playing a video game I swear

Me and my friends constantly exchange ideas for things we would want to see in Breath of the Wild 2/Stuff we thought would be cool in Breath of the Wild 1. And when we listened to this song again, we instantly thought the same thing. Gleeok Miniboss. (For those who don't know what that is, Gleeok is a multiheaded hydra-like dragon that's been around since the first Zelda.)

This song is absolutely beautiful. One of my favorite songs from the Zelda series.

This is the first divine beast I fought, it was so stressful that I didn't even experience the music. I'm listening now and it's masterful. 

Everyone's right that the other Divine Beasts simply didn't match up to this one. The stakes weren't as high and the game seems to know it by how the score is handled. You should be able to heavily feel the effects of each divine beast in each area just like in the Zora's domain, but you don't really. The Rito area should have had such heavy winds that it looked like it was on the verge of being torn apart and whirled into the sky. Your glider should have been ineffective here, twirling you around before smacking you into the ground and taking away hearts. Vah Medoh should have been slowly winding up a tornado so massive that it would destroy the entire Rito homeland and everything else in its path, slowed only by efforts to distract the beast temporarily. Link upgrades his cloth sail with the help of Teba so that it can be used to navigate the harshest winds. Link confronts Vah Medoh inside the tornado's winds, able to get a clear shot with the help of Teba's distractions. The Goron area should have been covered in ash and smoke. The air is so hot that even the Goron are bothered. Link's stamina is greatly decreased due to the effects closer to the peak of the mountain. It is clear that Vah Rudania is preparing to erupt the volcano, destroying Goron city and the surrounding Akkala region. Attempts are being made to safely drain the volcano's crater as has been traditionally done to prevent an eruption, but Vah Rudania quickly shuts down any Gorons who wish to try. Link obtains a special upgrade for the Flamebreaker armor, allowing him to brave the smoke and ash at the peak of the volcano without suffocating or dying of heat. He and Yunobo scale the mountain, culminating in Link and Yunobo shutting down the Divine Beast as the pool of lava at the peak fills up. Link can use the rising smoke to shoot at weak points, allowing Yunobo to bash the Divine Beast. The lava is then safely drained by the Goron and most of the ash and smoke clears up. Finally, Gerudo town should have been under a constant onslaught of thick sandstorms and tremors. Vah Naboris is slowly carving a giant hole around the town that is so massive it will threaten to sink the entire town with it into the depths. The Gerudo are despondent, counting the days until their home is gone. It is difficult enough to get to Vah Naboris in the sandstorm, but the electricity will kill you if the sandstorm does not. Link recovers the thunder helm as before, also upgrading the Sheikah Slate to work in sandstorms along the way. Rest continues as normal, only this time the spirit of Urbosa uses the beast to patch the hole surrounding Gerudo town before attacking Ganon. And most importantly, I think the Divine Beasts should have affected the ending beyond showing the champion's spirits freed. As Ganon is defeated, he launches a dead man's switch that causes any divine beasts still under his control to destroy each region. The more beasts left untouched, the more pyrrhic the victory. Freeing all divine beasts leaves the ending as it is today.

So I did the Gerudo desert first. Vah Naboris was awesome, the boss was infuriatingly hard as my first one, but so satisfying to beat. Then I did Vah Medoh, getting to fly was fun but the whole thing felt a little too easy. I went to Zora's domain worried I had done the best one first, and none of the others would be as good. But man, this whole quest was awesome. The fact that the Zora live long enough to remember you made it way more impactful to save them. Mipha's story was really touching (what is it with Link disappointing Zora princesses?) and Vah Ruta was fun and Waterblight Ganon was tough. That might just be because I'm an idiot and never remember I have Cryosis, so I always do it the hard way, but whatever. The fact that all the Zora gather in a crowd to cheer for you after your victory was great too. Everywhere else people go "Huh, the giant animal robot stopped being mean" and go on with their day, but the Zora really care because they know you.

I love that this theme is incorporated into the new Water Temple theme in Tears of the Kingdom

This Divine Beast had me SO anxious when I first did this. The music had me going "Aw shit, here we go". But it's exciting.

Vah Ruta was the first Divine Beast i took on in Breath of the Wild, and this battle literally stole my breath away. i was so entrenched in it because this music was such a surge of action and drama in tandem with the sheer size of a Divine Beast that was just... so unfathomably large compared to Link being carried around by Sidon, someone already twice his size. since i had avoided spoilers for the game until i got to play it 3 years after release, Ruta's size actually shocked me, and the whole battle had me so stoked to fight the rest of the Divine Beasts. these days, i wish i'd saved Vah Ruta for last because none of the other Divine Beast battles compare to the magnitude of this one.

I'd just like to thank you for this. This song is my favourite game song of all time, and all the other videos with this song are 2 minutes long or something. To be able to listen to it for 30 minutes makes me so happy

I didn't even know what I was getting into when I followed the directions of the Zora leading me to Sidon. I had no clue there was even a Divine Beast that close to me. I was looking for memories lmao. Needless to say, this fight was epic is an understatement. Ruta is the only beast I've dealt with so far. I just recently started playing, and this is also the first Zelda game I've ever played.

Whenever i hear this i kinda just feel the feeling of cold water and a giant ocean, it kinda scares me but comforts me and makes me feel lost a little all at the same time, it’s a weird feeling
