As a Christian, I urge the Assyrian Christian community in Sydney to maintain the good witness we are called to keep by not becoming violent. Our Lord Jesus does not need a human defence. It takes away from His divinity and sovereignty if us mere human beings think we can defend our faith. The best way to defend our faith is to renounce violent aggression and spread the saving message of Christ. Self defence is a separate discussion, but we don’t need to retaliate or riot for our faith. We can leave the rioting and violence to the followers of Islam.

As a catholic I just want to clarify- we don’t pray to Mary or worship Mary like she’s God or anything like that. We simply ask her to pray for us the same way as you would ask a friend or neighbor to pray for you. We ask her because we know she is close to God as she is the mother of Christ which also makes her our holy mother. We are fully Christian and are the oldest and original form of Christianity dating back to Saint Peter the apostle. Much love to my fellow Christians- just wanted to make sure nobody is misinformed.

It's been coming for a while back in the 70's where I lived in Michigan I watched every gas station every mom and pop corner store sold to middle eastern peoples, now that's most of the population in lower Michigan, that I know of it could be more wide spread now. I live in the south now for many years in a small town and last year the same thing has just happened here they bought every small store and gas stations. They're flooding our country and it's not going end well. I wonder how much of our food source it owned and control by them? not good.

Decons (lay people that can have families) Priests, Bishops, cardinals and the pope (who take a vow of celibacy.) we also don’t pray TO Mary or any of the saints. We pray To God/Jesus and ask for Mary/ Saints to INTERCEDE for us (Intercession is a prayer of petition) Example: at the end of Prayer you might hear San Juan Diego pray for us, Blessed Mary ever Virgen pray for us. So we don’t Idolize saints or Mary.

Mar Mari is an Orthodox bishop. They are very close to Catholic but not quite Catholic. However, the Catholic Church does accept their sacraments as valid. (I'm a practicing Catholic.) And yes, Catholic and Orthodox are Christians. We have cardinals, bishops and priests. We believe Christ was the Messiah and the second person of the holy Trinity. We do not pray to Mary as if she were God. We pray for her intercession as the mother of God. We believe she was not just an ordinary woman, though she is fully a creature of God, unlike Jesus, who was both God and man.

Catholic here. We pray to Mary to intercede for us, and just to clear up a common misconception, we do not worship Mary. Mary is our intercessor in that we ask her to ask Jesus a request we may have. Remember the commandment “Honor your father and your mother?” There is no better example than Jesus. If Mary asks him to do something, and it’s Jesus’s (God’s) will, Jesus will not hesitate to do it. That’s one of the messages at the Wedding at Cana. Even though his hour had not come, he did as Mary asked. As far as hierarchy, we have priests, monseniors, bishops, cardinals, and the Pope. To one of the points made, yes, Catholics definitely are a form of Christianity. In fact, we are the first Christians as we can trace our pope all the way back to Peter himself. “You are Peter, and on this rock I shall build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”- Jesus. We were the only Christians until Martin Luther came along 1500 years after Christ and decided he knew Christianity better and could even interpret the Bible better than the Catholic Church. Correction: We, as Catholics, do not worship Mary, but we do pray to her to intercede for us. Jesus honors his father and his mother. Jesus will always honor Mary’s requests so long as it aligns with His will.

Dear Young Men, Catholicism is the 1st organized Christian church. I'm a Roman Catholic. More importantly we are CHRISTIANS. We do not worship Mary or the saints. We pray to them. It's like you asking someone to pray for you or pray for a friend. We pray to ask Mary & the saints to pray for us or our family or friends. We pray to God Almighty every day. We don't attend church, we attend mass. We take Holy Communion at every Mass. This is where we receive the body of Christ as well as the blood of Christ. Jesus made it quite clear at the last supper: Matthew 26:26-28, While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." We don't go to church once a week. Mass is held 7 days a week. We do not have to attend all 7 days, but many do. We do not have Sunday schools. All ages of children sit with us & attend mass. We have Catechism during the week for our children. During mass every-time the words of the gospel are read aloud we stand in reverence to our Lord & Savior. As we walk through the doors, we do not talk. We dip our fingers into Holy Water & make the sign of the cross across our chests. This is to remind us of our Baptism & what that means. We walk to our seat where we genuflect & then at our seat we get down on our knees & begin to pray. It is very quiet as we prepare ourselves to receive His word. For us, it is all about respect. We wear our best clothes out of respect to Him. We keep quiet so that we may hear Him. The heart of Catholicism comes from the 2 greatest commandments from Jesus Christ found in Matthew 22:37-39. The first is to love God with all your soul, heart, strength and mind. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself. Maybe you can research Catholic Church & read about its beginnings. Also, please learn about the 16th Century Protestant Reformation by German Theologian, Martin Luther. The Roman Catholic Church comes with a lot of nefarious actors. But so do the Protestants, the Jews & the Muslims. We are ALL sinners. You should also know about King Henry VIII & how he turned his back on the Pope (Vatican-Catholic Church) & created the Church of England so he could marry Anne Boleyn only to have her decapitated 3 years later.
