@@IRUKANJIHaving someone else doing the mini turbo for you is actually broken, it's much easier to do it repeatedly, especially in spiral tower-like turns like in Bowser Castle, Wario Colloseum or Rainbow Road
@@typhlocube9359 pfff no it was NASTY and my brother was a god at it. I find the line and he chains nasty boost strings. Also we had the hot-swapping down for making sure we always had double items.
Yeah that was the best part of the video. Will they figure it out? Nope! I actually like playing this game without drift to make it more difficult against cpus, and this video shows why
this is a rollercoaster of emotions, we get a full length movie drama, with both conflict, a redemption arc and a hell of a climax! this is peak deluxe.
Congratulations to Jerry and Jefferson (also known as dNd) for the world record. Hopefully the main members of Alpharad Gold will be able to achieve this one day.
I hope I'm not the only one who got really invested in the story line. The heated rivalry, the ups and downs, and then them barely squeezing out a victory to "it's called a road it's called a Rainbow Road" was a thrilling experience
@@Gammix I never thought of it as a flaw, I think it just makes this co-op more fun due to the depth of sync both players need to have. It would be kinda boring if the one in the back's only job were the item management, don't you think ?
@@wingzero7678oh they didn't mean "issue" like it's a bad mechanic, they were just telling the OP comment why Jacob couldn't have learned to drift in this video if he wanted to lmao
All coming down to Rainbow Road, that insane move with 95% of the kart over the edge to stay on the track on the last lap, and never leading for the entire circuit until the final moment. This was cinema
This is legitimately one of my favorite Gold videos, you can just really tell Alpha and Snif are going at it purely as a personal thing and it's not about the video or the bit or anything. Just good clean fun.
I haven't been able to keep up with all of this channel's vids lately, but I'm glad I chose this one to watch. Instant classic, what a stressful final race LMAO
This was genuinely one of the most entertaining videos I’ve ever watched. I loved every minute. Wish there was more. Double Dash is a masterpiece and you both did wonderful!
I don't think I've ever watched a mario kart video that felt that intense, and against CPUs no less! Even when Jacob doesn't have editing at his side, he can still tell the most compelling stories on RU-vid.
The fact that you can watch this video twice and watch position races. The top 3 was close the entire video and the bottom 5 was close the entire video.
Omg this might be my new favourite Double Dash video, tied with someone's 4 player where along to the music they sing "Go Luigi, go, go Luigi go! Go Luigi, go, get baack on the road!"
This was a very good video. I was originally watching in the background but then I got too invested to look away. Glad to see the comeback worked out in the end-
This game was honestly so much of my childhood and I just remember trying to perfect each course and having a blast trying to defeat my big brother. Just a gem of a game that doesn't get mentioned a lot heh.
Dude I usually don't like Mario Cart because I get bored fast, but I'm changed this was the most entertaining thing ever omg underdog story of you decade
If you could look behind yourself in this game, then LAN Play co-op could allow both players to see the front-view and rear-view cameras simultaneously, and that sounds _so_ optimal Just the idea of giving the other player a separate screen allowing them or their partner to use the rearview camera individually sounds so *sensical!*
I have played Double Dash for my entire childhood and I didn't know that you could throw back items when playing multiplayer, or doing the stuff at 22:16. Holy moley

Jo literally backseat gaming. That last game was so fucking hype man.
I swear to God I was on the edge of my seat the entire video, but somehow RU-vid knew and gave me more ads than I've ever seen on a single RU-vid video on my life. I was shouting "COME ONNN" every time an ad interrupted the video.
I used to love double dash, the most fun I had was a challenge run of the grand prix where we would only get items by stealing them with the punch from the rear player... we routinely finished in 3rd at best but still it was funny to steal a mushroom right before a short cut
