For name of the empire you can go with "Alkebulan", its the original ancient name of africa, and it means "mother of mankind", i think it would fit best

22:10 Regarding the succession stuff you were on about, when it comes to partition laws, if you want one heir to inherit everything within one kingdom title, you normally need to have another kingdom title to give to your other heir as well. So, for instance, your primary heir would inherit the empire of Guinea and the kingdom of Mali (as it is de jure part of your capital), but your secondary heir would inherit say the kingdom of Sahara (had you not given it away), if it had been kept. Likewise, if there were two potential empires within your borders on confederate partition, the secondary heir would inherit the non-primary empire, unless regular partitition or high partition was enacted. Either way, disinheriting, killing heirs, or setting them up for doom (i.e. with them inheriting poor territories that can easily be taken away/invaded), is the best way about it should you not have primogeniture or just one viable male heir (or female/both, depending on religion/culture!)

In the latest update if you land your sons they lose their inheritance of the land you want to keep. You should have been giving out the kingdoms you took to your sons, keeping in the family is much stronger now and you get so much dynasty points if your dynasty owns kingdoms.

You could add elective succession to one of the duchies, then one will be inherited by your heir and the other will be inherited by whoever you vote for (also your heir).

You can disinherit whoever is in line ahead of your player heir or set the duchy inheritance for both duchies to elective, that’s your only way until you get the innovations for non-partition inheritances

Adorcism is really good, you can get new traits and strong modifiers if you have a priest with high learning. Pursuit of power is redundant, warmonger already gives conquest CBs.

Destroy all the titles you can and make sure your second third and fourth in line (etc.) are granted entire duchies and you’re fine. Confederate partition only creates title equal to your highest so you won’t lose random kingdoms that didn’t exist if you’re an empire.

What I do for high pious pilgrimages is to take detours before reaching the holy site, such as visiting all other holy sites

At around 19:30 you were asking why you couldn't holy war that guy. I can't be 100% but I think it's because you had just taken land and not enough time had passed for the game to recognize your new borders. Passing a little bit of time, updating the borders, usually makes new wars possible.

Can you take wales to form britannia, you might've done it already i dont know. I'm doing it at the moment and it is quite hard. Mostly because you are feudal - meaning you have severe penalties when taking land from the irish (no levies, no gold). Also your neighbours are mighty, not only the well known Danelaw kingdom, but also the Kingdom of Wessex, which in my run was very quickly able to form England and essentially become the strongest kingdom on the isle. But it's fun + challenging + you really have to consider intrique and diplomacy your close friends when dealing with the bordering kings.

It takes a minute for the game to know you border someone after a war so new holy war targets won’t pop up. Also you holy-warred for a Kingdom and only gained a Duchy, always double check dejure titles.

to get around succession, in a game when my ruler was near end of life, i would just grant and gift my successor all land and artifacts that i could, 90% of the time, i could grant away the land i wanted to keep.

I think the game sometimes takes a few days to figure out you are now adjacent to the new realms.

I love this game but sometimes the way succession works just doesn’t make sense. Going from 10k to 2k troops and the other brother gets so much more land is crazy.

Aslong as you give your sons an equal inheritance they won't take your land, If you only hold one duchy, just give your spare a duchy of his own and that sorts the inheritance.

A little late to comment, but you can keep your titles together with a bug (not sure if you use them). Set your main duchy(s) title to elective, any elective works, and your main kingdom or empire title leave alone. Vote for your heir on the elective duchys, and you won't lose any land when you die. I use this strat on my Alfred the great run to keep the main holdings in his control for the whole run.

If you want to make your vassals even more unstable, grant the titles to babies, take them as wards and give them bad traits 🤭 Or give every county in a douchy to different people and make the weakest of them a duke, his counts will start fighting for power. Same with kingdoms, give a kingdom title to the weakest duke
