original plan was 3 part Daily but instead will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday!! :) so if you have any ideas let me know as im recording part 2 tomorrow! :)
A warfare tradition I would consider is "Recognition of Talent". It boosts the likelihood of Blademaster Traits. If you make Knight Accolades with Legendary Blademaster and Military Engineer Perk (alternatively, if your Culture has Mangonels, they shouldn't need Military Engineer). Your warfare should be more manageable 🤙🏿🍻 Also I believe the criteria of "Rome" is met once the De Jure Duchy of the Papacy. And the De Jure Duchy of Byzantium. Are owned by the player. Certainly if you Hybridize and pickup "Eastern Roman Legacy". That must count. Great work navigating that 10 years war lol. The RNG is brutal!!!
You will absolutely meet the requirements for the reduction to Prestige Cost. Having 10 prisoners with 12 prowess. If you are conquering for Rome (Papacy, I assume you will make Rome the capital 🤙🏿🍻). I think you will enjoy having the Cultural Tradition of "Recognition of Talent". If you were wanting an Economic Tradition, I would pick Agrarian. Because I'm assuming you will just be Hybridizing to take all the special Cultural Man-At-Arms of your hearts desire lol.
Assuming most people watching this have never been, the shores of Cornwall are outrageously beautiful and I can only imagine that Snap being totally serious at the start there.
0:44 snap looking at 1.14 million piety: yup, 114k. arguably it’s even more impressive you got it down to 250 considering you were off by a factor of 10
So to have the decision "Restore the Roman Empire" available you actually have to hold either the Byzantine Empire or the Holy Roman Empire or the Empire of Italia and do the decision "Unify Italy". So for you the 3rd option probably makes the most sense. 👍🏻
@@SnapStrategyYou're going to take a LOOOOONG time for this one, bud. It's hard enough to restore the Roman Empire as an Italian Also you CAN start Roman, and even Hellenic if you make a custom ruler, which is fine. That's how i started since i want to make the earliest Roman Empire i can to enjoy it
You’ll run into problems that way as you need Latin heritage for the unify Italy decision. Easier to take the Byzantine empire in earlier start or HRE in later start as it only needs Christian or Greco-Roman religion and to hold the title
It's fun that you started this as Cornwall, and allied Gwynedd, as Gwynedd claims decent from a roman general Magnus Maximus, who left Britain to try to claim the Roman Empire. Another fun fact, they also claim descent from a PERSON called "Cup Bearer", yeah not someone who were a cup bearer, but who were named that. Old Welsh history is WILD
You know, as a Faroese, it really warmed my heart to see you get your butt handed to you in your attempt to conquer us after you called us a terrible county. :D Very nice. :) On to the next episode.
Nos wyth dah Don't stop doing what you're doing mate, after trying to make my own content I realised how hard it is. Your story and script writing skills as well as editing and gaming skills are all impecable. Much respect. Realising how much effort it actually takes as well as in game time is phenominal, it really shows that your a true fan, more than I could ever be I think. So yeah thanks for the video.
Thankyou man I really appreciate that! I looked at your channel! Seen you been going at it properly the last few months! Keep at it for sure if you enjoy it, never know what’s going to happen! But yeah I really appreciate that and best of luck man!
Omg, thank you so much for your time, your subscription and for your kind words in your reply mate! I've been on cloud 9 since i got the noticifation! So much so that my wife has been getting jealous 😂. Sorry thar I didn't respond sooner but it means the world to me, thanks again bro!
tbf, the cornwallish culture is not diluted by the anglo-saxons. So it is, on the british islands, the closest u can get to the british people under the Roman rule.
Great video, I’ve been wanting the Roman Empire series, keep up the great work, I’ve tried loads of times to form the Roman Empire, but I’ve never done it 😂. Can’t wait for Wednesday’s episode.
I played Cornwall in my last playthrough. I got a kingdom claim on Lotharingia and set up a massive wall of corn in the middle of europe so I decided to make that my quest for that playthrough - huge vertical corn walls everywhere on the map. Beautiful corn boys and corn girls encircling the globe and converting everyone to the ways of the corn.
I admire the big brain converting to Hellenism gameplay, but creating a custom Roman character that already has the Hellenism faith isn't cheating my dude. But I get it, content is content and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series! Restoring the Roman Empire is one of my favorite runs. I'm going to do it sometime soon but starting as a Hellenist Roman. Pretty sure it will be super challenging since everyone will hate me. :)
Oh for sure! When I mentioned without cheating just meant from like having already started and cheating to turn Roman! I use custom characters all the time! But only did it this way just to add some extra stuff for the videos so it isn’t just only conquering haha!
Can’t call it cheating on console, it has no mods so if you want 100 stat players you need to create each one before changing to your ruler. I’ve got OCD and got bored so decided to make every player in Europe 100 stats and perfect traits while having me as an Ironman start to see if I could win. Took a week of setup, not cheating…. Dedication lol.
This is what I like about your content, you don't want a straight forward, out of the bat, easy route to what your end goal is. You make the game actually challenging by making yourself a count, and/or outside your region. Like this for example, you're playing in Cornwall, as a Cornish Catholic Count, and you want to make the entirety of the Roman Empire. Though... my all time favorite place to do this is as the vassal of the Byzantine (BIZZ-AN-TEEN, I love how you pronounce it as BYE xD but hey, it's like Potato, Patato, Tomato, Tamato, we all pronounce words diffeently) in Sicily, take over all of Sicily as well as Sardinia, and as a custom Roman/Hellenic character.
Ave Caesar Ave Roma. All hail Zeus and the Olympians also known as Jupiter Maximus. Also, Roman Britain managed to hang on longer than the rest of the empire so if you think about it, you're restoring it to its former glory.
I like how Ricat had like no personality, was always in the shadow of his (very supportive) brother. And then he decided to grow a beard. Like a real *Beard.* Becomes known as the Bearded, gains "character" that way and suddenly everyone votes for him.
It is grand and good luck to you man. However I bet after watching this there is going to be someone who will try to do this in one life, with a certain count located a little down south to where you start.
Man youtube listens to me, im starting in Byzantium started the campaign yesterday to revive the roman empire and claim all the lands at the peak of the empire. revive hellenism and destroy all of catholisms. Right now ive got all of byzantium hellenic and im already having italy and francia dec on me at every chance they get
Been currently doing this playthrough but started as the king of Scotland, married a Norse girl and converted religion and culture. Used that to unite the northern Viking leaders and declare vassalage wars against Wessex and Mercia to complete England. Did multiple simultaneous wars and took wales easily before fighting off all the actual Vikings and taking the northern seas empire decision later in my sons life, finally died after taking Brittany and giving my 4th son independence. After starting with my son started getting prestige by fighting to win hispania and taking all 5 Christian holy sites. Was able to make the north seas empire decision before taking the dutchy of Neustria to become Norman, then declared war for the kingdom of France before a subjugation war for lower France which also held Normandy. Changed religion to orthodox and made my own version (holy wars, child intelligence traits and monuments) with witches aloud but everything else a sin as I had just made a coven. Added the ability to do multiple holy wars in culture and formed the empire of France before making it my primary title and taking dutchies off of Italy, lothrangia and east francia whilst taking the Secure the Mediterranean decision before dieing. Had my son finish taking the empire of germania bit by bit before mending the schism to have everyone follow my faith and holy warring for the empire of Italia (bit by bit) before setting my eyes on the arabs and Byzantines.over the next 2 generations had secured the borders of the Roman Empire whilst also controlling Scandinavia and taken the decision whilst also playing tall and gaining enough prestige to max out the family tree line excluding the raiding 2, intrigue and 1 or 2 final perks. Might have to try again to make the actual religion too but will limit half the plays I was able to do and severely limit renown gain. Also restored Carolingian borders and made 8 universities (1 each generation) because I was bored in the few months of downtime lol.
it is really pain to achieve that revive the eagle, in my entire play, im only play the game for half a year now tho, i only success once, my first and second attempt was not bear any fruit due to my lack of exp and knowledge ofthe game, but after searching i still didnt even close, and once i unite the holy roman empire, i always start from 867, cuz it my fav timeline tho, afterthat, uniting the west part of the empire, still i place my dynasty to the throne of the byzantine by some intrigue, still after making him as my heir i didnt success, and at that time idk abt by the sword innovations and making the new religion for easier. and on the third attempt or so, i did it, finally, now i can sleep well. even tho not the entire border is part of my fake roman empire. but even tho finally i revive the empire, i did not get the achievement, sucks.
You started as Cornwall, you win a successful war for Wessex and you still wanted Stonehenge, but at no point did you think to form the Kingdom of Cornwall? I know it doesn’t do much a secure kingdom is a secure kingdom. It to mention it’s a nice setup for Uniting Britannia and at that point hybridizing with Norse to get Malleable invaders and converting to Hellenism. At this rate you’ll have trouble with the coming crusades forget getting the holy sites necessary to reform the religion.
I actually did this but I started as hellenic sparta. It took a long time but I caused the byzantine to collapse and in tern gained my independence. Then I conquered the middle east and half of africa all under hellenism. I couldn't actually for the roman empire because I didn't have the special decision but I did bring back hellenism.
Of all the counties to get really early on, at least in that area, it is by far one of the best. Having both Stonehenge and the Forest of Dean gold mine makes Hwicce one of the better duchies in the game. That said, you don't strictly need it to succeed, and I even gave up that particular duchy later on. Overall, it is a luxury to have unless you are focused on conquering like I was. Huscarls are freakishly expensive.
tip you should definitely reform hellenism if you can make it war monger and medicant preachers it makes it so much easy also make fundamentalist instead of pluralist
Can you actually die from stress in this game? I've had the mental breakdowns and all that but never death. Is there actually a stress related death mechanic or does it increase your chance of other forms of death?
@@SnapStrategy That's crazy. I guess it just means I need to log some more hours into the game. Thanks for the reply Snap, I love the content. You are actually the singular reason I purchased CK3.
@@aroma13 not really, just creating a fundamentalist religion (that isnt in the eastern group) and getting by the sword on your culture meams you can do infinite kingdom holy wars, way stronger if you can keep it together
