Yes, I am against bullying ! I had to get glasses in first grade. This was in 1945/46. At that time, it was rare to see a little child in glasses. Every day at school often elsewhere I was called "4 eyes". Always spoken or yelled in a nasty tone. It was called "teasing" back in the day. When seeing a little one in glasses, I always make a point of talking (with the adult's permission) with them and letting them know that I too, as a child, wore glasses. Also, I tell them how cute their glasses are and how nice they look in them.

First and foremost, thank you for telling us about this fantastic opportunity to support beloved children and teens. I was bullied, quite badly, and any time I can help reduce the suffering for others I am willing to be the first volunteer. It would be my honor to make way more than one hat. ❤

My mom decided to move me from a small town in KY to a little big city in GA because my brother and I were getting bullied so badly. I’m glad she did and we never looked back!

Thanks for sharing this! My youngest daughter had to deal with bullying and that was difficult for me to watch and want to stop without success. I will be researching more about "hat not hate" so another young girl doesn't have to go through what my daughter did even though like you Matthew she made it out stronger it doesn't mean she couldn't have done that without being bullied! ❤

Hi Mister Domestic, I love you and I love that fact that you support causes that are important in this world, and needs all the support they can get! I'm 60yrs young and I still remember being bullied in all school years. It wasn't nice then, and it's definitely not nice now!! Love HatNotHate💙💙💙

thanks Matthew for this inspiration - I'd love to see the bullying of any kind come to an end. Its so demeaning and the negative effectives of which are something a person can carry with them their whole lives. The more we can educate people on this the better and a simple blue hat can be a simple visual cue which could defuse a situation before it gets out of control

I can't understand why people cannot just be accepted for who they are. It is such a simple concept, Live and Let Live. I felt inspired to comment I do not want a chance to win the knitting loom I will make some and pass them on. I just wanted to say thank you are using a social Media Forum to speak out on this issue and other issues.

I'm from the UK, so I guess I won't be chosen to win the hat knitting loom, due to the cost of postage, but I'm still happy to support the project and knit some hats to send over to you, as this is such a great cause. My sister in law just shared with me that her neighbors 8 year old daughter was put in a choke hold by another neighbors 8 year old son. When the boys father was approached, he attitude was “well boys will be boys.”I feel sorry for the boy that 1-his father is not a better role model and 2-he thinks that it ok to hurt another human being. I will add that the girl had visible bruising on her neck. Our kids learn from watching us, let’s show them how to be a decent human being.

I have been wanting to do this since it started! I've attempted to make a hat a few times but they never get far because I don't know how. My son was bullied all through school for having Autism and my daughter was later because she is non-binary! I taught school and Hated I wasn't at their schools to protect them and stop the other kids! It broke my heart! I would love to have this loom because then I could start making these hat not hate and keep on keeping on!!! Without my horrible crochet skills getting in the way!

I was the one who would stop people from being bullied. Some of my best friends to this day are ones who I kept from being bullied. I raised my kids to stand up for those being bullied. This has to come from the home. Teach your children to stand against it. It could make a huge difference in the life of a peer who may be contemplating suicide from bullying.

Totally against bullying. Was bullied up until high school. There were times between my home life, abusive, and school life, I didn’t want to live anymore. Raised my kids that bullying is not acceptable. My motto, “I may not be able to change the world, BUT I can change my corner. If more of us change our ‘corners’ then maybe the world will begin to change”.

I was severely bullied in school until grade 10. When I was a little girl I would get beaten up badly by boys on my walk to/from school, teachers would do nothing, this is back in the 70's, if they saw me getting beaten up and nose bloodied in the school yard or they would tell me it was my fault for getting beaten up.

Great campaign! Would love to knit hats for this cause. Just not good at knitting round things like hats. 😕 A loom might just be the answer. As a crafter, loved your videos. Now I stick with watching you for your “causes”. Keep being yourself and make these helpful videos.
