It wouldn’t apply to state charges that began before taking the oath of office, only federal ones beginning with the oath of office. This is not a place where state sovereignty can be overridden by any federal ruling (per the literal and clear language in the Constitution).

judge Chutkin pretty much addressed those analysis in her original ruling. The Appeals court went even further to look at those issues. To remand for further analysis is a mighty weak fig leaf.
If the supreme court is that corrupt, and it is. The the office of president really holds no power, since everything that office does is subject to the wims of a corrupt court.

These justices have to answer for their biased stance on this and other issues that they have dropped the ball on. Vote Blue down the ticket and this issue will be resolved.
I suspect that the Court will remand it back to the lower court. Once that court makes a decision, #45 will appeal to the Supreme Court again who will say he has immunity.
What makes you think Trump would ever limit himself to any constraints given by the Supreme Court. He will act with the level of immunity he believes he is entitled to. And who will stop him.

They are going to go with punting back to the lower court for two reasons: First is delay, delay, and more delay. They have made it painfully obviously they are stalling for as long as they can. The second reason is they don't want to get their hands dirty. The bulk of the court is corrupt and cowardly. They're going to let someone else do their dirty work.

I’ve never said this out loud…I’ve been thinking about plan B if our highest court rules in favor of blanket presidential immunity even while not in office. Full stop and no matter the president. It’s a hard line for me. I’ll be rethinking my living arrangements.

The question SCOTUS is considering mentions immunity for "official acts". They should never have stayed the case because either way what Trump did cannot be considered an official act.
