Nice to see a video that is not showcasing someone’s brand new quads, makes me feel not so bad about my old bikes. Cannot wait to take my big bear camping
100% agree. You don't need brand new expensive equipment to enjoy the outdoors. We like to promote everyone getting out. I feel like new people can be led astray thinking they need to spend a lot of money to get started. Simply not true.
@@lundriganoutdoors8687 better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it, right? We're always finding ways to pack lighter and it doesn't take long to fill up then machines. I had the same black box with the red latches as you on my older machine. Good bin, can fit a decent amount of gear.
@@ElevationATV As we go through the gear and refine our bush camping we change our load out constantly. When it boils down to it that's really part of the fun. Its awesome to try new gear and try to perfect our systems.
Loved the video. I've been camping near the Powderface Road for 15 years. I was wondering why you guys cut your wood? I've never really understood it unless you've got a fire in a stove. I just get the fire started and then drag a log of deadfall on top. As bits get more and more bent, I'll use something like a machette or another log to knock the burnt end off and drag the remaining log back up on top of the fire. When I get to the site I'll drag a few logs of deadfall in so they can dry near the fire. 5-15 minutes and I have wood for days.
We mostly cut the wood into pieces that are easily moved wile we are in our bunks for the night. That way we can feed the fire more easily. We have used long fires as well, just depends on the camp situation.
Nice! Good to know there others doing this. Been doing quad camping for quite a few years and it's basically like the old horse riding days but on quads/trike/sxs's. I like how I see two older trucks and two old machines. There are so many videos out there where everyone has all the newest machines and latest gear it's great to see the the old iron and how one doesn't need to spend a fortune to have motorized fun. I am just starting to make some videos similar to this myself but my dog is getting old so we've toned it down on the adventures but still getting out there with the toy hauler and quad. Anyway i'm going to subscribe can't wait to see more vids.
Thank you for the feedback. We love getting out and we have had the older gear for years. It all still Rick's and rolls. If it ain't broke , don't fix it.
hmm, been a long time, but is that the same road as the air strip and abandon ranger building? the ftr is my favorite playground, but too many people, hard to find an isolated spot these days, and a lot of rifraf at some, I wouldnt even bother with gohst or nordeg, even brazeau is a shit show. I suppose its good to meet other people, but I like the old days when my group might encounter 1 or 2 other groups at most, defiantly better when its not a long weekend, not even worth going on a long. good video, I like the rachet strap idea for the lean so I picked up a new trick.
Thanks to everyone who has watched this video. Kevin and I had a great time making it. We will definitely have more content in the future. SURVIVING!!!
