Yorkshire's Graham Roberts does the voiceovers for the Eden End and Airline trails. The opening of the ITN News reporting on the Penlee Lifeboat disaster shows why 'One Stop' was soon after discontinued as ITN's weekend news theme.

It was the Falklands War which finally finished it off and the electronic style theme started in mid 1982. God knows how it lasted so long, it really wasn't appropriate to have tragic news introduced by something sounding like the soundtrack to a village fete.

Whilst it wasn’t uncommon for Tom Edwards to moonlight at ATV, I’m surprised to see it was still the case as late as December 81, as I don’t believe he announced for Central.

@@mikesmemoriesfromthepast89no - he was already with Thames, but since Thames only broadcast Mon-Fro he would also do work for others, including ATV, Anglia and HTV at the weekends, as did fellow Thames continuity presenter Peter Marshall.

Lots of goodies here including an ad for Marathon (comes up peanuts) and a cheesy cigar ad with Gemma Craven and Duncan Preston. But there's a treat at the very end a '12" mix' of Yorkshire's fanfare as it animates into the titles of its Celebrity Playhouse series.
