It's a big mix between Lithuanian and Russian language... and German, too... For example, "This is" in English... "Tas ir" in Latvian language... "Das ist"... in German... "Ar labu nakti" in Latvian language means "Good night" and in Lithuanian language "Laba nakts"... And about the similarities with the Russian language: "Стация" pronounced "Statsiya" = "Dzelsceļa stacija" pronounced "Dzelss - tselliya - Statsiya" to say the location where it gives trains...

One correction: Balts and Slavs aren't brothers. In many ways, they're completely different. Some of the regions in the Baltic States have been influenced by Slavic nations in later centuries. If you studied Latvian and Estonian ancient singing there is a lot in common with Scandinavian folk. Try checking folk group DELVE.
