Nice! An elderly couple in front of us left at the end of the 3rd quarter. I've always wondered what they thought after the game. This was my first AU game attended as an adult and in several years, so no way was I leaving!

Yup. It was. Craziest game I've ever seen, either in person or on TV. Nothing will ever top it from that aspect.

As crickets chirped and verbal violins rhapsodized over the plight of “poor mistreated athletes” in the wake of the damning-to-Alabama Yahoo! report yet another ‘isolated incident’ surfaced. An Alabama assistant was suspended for providing improper benefits to a star Tide player. Another brick. At what point do these so-called isolated incidents become a clear pattern of abuse and corruption? Maybe it’s time to just lay it all out there, once and for all. Since state and national media are loathe to do it, we will take up the cause. Decide for yourself how these dots connect. Before we go any further let’s address the predictable backlash from Alabama fans and segments of our own (and other) fanbases. Are we obsessed? You’re damn right we are. Obsessed with fair treatment under the rules. Should we take the “high road” and ignore what’s happening across the state; remain above the fray? The fray was dragged roaring, snarling and clawing to our doorstep in 2010. It was left there to devour us. Despite the best efforts of those aligned against us the effort to destroy Auburn failed. Even as one specifically named in the Yahoo! report tried to defame us, the effort failed. Due to our collective strength and our willingness to finally stand up and be counted, it failed. Are we now supposed to just walk away? Are we supposed to forget everything said and done against us when the dirty brush with which we were unfairly painted is finally pointed back where it belongs? Some would say this is not our fight. We don’t agree. Our fight is for fairness, equality and a level playing field. That fight is far from over. When our program is broadly smeared on the basis of unsubstantiated rumor while another transgresses with impunity, we believe it is our duty to point out the hypocrisy. When our program is branded as an outlaw while another is held up as a model of efficiency and when that allegedly efficient program is replete with scandal and outrageous behavior, we believe it is our obligation to shine a light on the true nature of the beast. If you’re the fan of any team in the SEC, you should be concerned. If you’re a fan of Ohio State, Southern Cal, Miami, Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Texas A&M or Penn State you should be outraged. The rampant pattern of abuse that has seemingly emerged in Tuscaloosa impacts us all and simply cannot be brushed away because the head coach is surly in his press conferences and the state media is too busy groveling or too afraid to ask questions. Those questions need to be asked. Start at the top of the cabal. The connection between Alabama head coach Nick Saban and NCAA President Mark Emmert is clear and rife with questions. Is it possible that their chummy relationship, and the presence of an Alabama grad at the head of the enforcement staff, causes the NCAA to look the other way? Emmert was chancellor at LSU when Saban was hired there and the two are considered “good friends.” In April of 2013, USA Today unearthed systemic academic fraud that occurred on Saban’s watch. In the same story, Emmert was also tied to scandals at Uconn, Washington and Montana State, other schools he served prior to taking over the NCAA.

11:30 kick and yes, heat index over 90 degrees. Sun was never out, but it was incredibly humid. Sweat the entire game. Players got IVs after the game. After the game, we drove to Atlanta and through one of the biggest downpours I’ve ever driven through.

Ole Miss MissSt Florida (crazy game) Southern Miss and Alabama. Didn’t have tickets for the Bama game, they were going for over $500 for end zone hour before kickoff. Wife and I walked right in in 3rd qtr no one was watching the gates ha!

@@rscotta831 I’m not sure I agree with that. I still have nightmares of 1998 Auburn-Tennessee when Auburn got the ball on the Vol 1 and couldn’t sneak it in at all.

@@bmaze35640 That was one of the worst AU offenses in the last 50 years. Tennessee was a lucky National Champion, but still the far better team. This AU team won 9 of 11 games. They had a very good OL. LSU schemed to stop the toss sweep. They couldn't have stopped a QB sneak. No, the offense didn't deserve to win on this day, but they could get 1/2 yard.

@@rscotta831 Perhaps, but the offense had no confidence under Nix or Craig. All I’m saying is that it’s a good thing Auburn offense didn’t have to finish up that score. That’s one of the most bizarre games I’ve ever watched, but not the only one where the offense failed to score an offensive touchdown

@@bmaze35640 Had replay been in force, Alvis would have been ruled down. I've watched every QB sneak from the 94 season. Nix and the OL always got incredible push on their sneaks...better than any AU team I've ever seen. They would have gotten in.
