Hey thanks a lot for the great comment 😀. The Wintergardens have always been a very restful spot right in the middle of the city & finding the dogs there this time was quite a bonus , definitely some of the best behaved dogs I’ve ever seen 😊.

Thanks David , the Wintergarden has always been one of my photography “happy places” ever since I lived quite nearby back in the ‘70s after moving north from Wellington 😀

Thanks Anna, it’s one of my favourite places in the city. Part of my purpose was to give my newly acquired DJI Pocket 3 a workout. Most people see these cameras as just video but this one takes really decent stills, very impressed with this model over the Pocket 2 from three years back. 😀

hey thanks a lot for the share . These gardens have been my favourite place in Auckland since I came here in 76, the city has always kept them very nicely. They were shut for nearly two years just recently for a complete refurbishment and replacement of the glass in the roof to full earthquake standards .

Hi thanks a lot , the Wintergarden is one of my favourite places in the city, like a little oasis of colour and tranquility in the middle of the city. Yes I became an early adopter and got the P3 on the day it was released, I’ve had the P2 for three years but been continually frustrated by its tiny screen which is near invisible in daylight. The P3 is a heck of an improvement and I thought I’d see if I could do video and stills with the same device in my test at the Wintergarden which it definitely is. Obviously not as good as my big mirrorless but a heck of a lot less intrusive and definitely “good enough” for youtube, although normally I do send all my stills through Photoshop I didn’t on this occasion and still not too shabby as we say . I got the creator combo although you might want to watch some of the videos from “Gemini Connect” she’s done one recently on the merits or not of the combo version of the P3. I’ve been getting good mileage putting the P3 (in tilt lock) on the end of one of those telescoping poles , theres a couple of examples in the video ( a 1m pole) but while I was still using the P2 I tried it in a park using a 3m pole taking it from water level right up into a tree !! Pretty cool result but in retrospect I should have done it in slow motion for a smoother effect. Good luck when you get yours , you are really going to like it 😀

Your footage of the garden without much post editing looks amazing. I'm looking forward to bigger screen, better low light capabilities, better mic and better detail. Thanks so much for sharing 👍👍

Thanks Tony , the Wintergarden is a fine example of doing it well, given how long this standard has been kept up considering I first started going here in 1976 I think it's one thing the City can be rightly proud of . BTW are you repeating your cycling vid ? I saw it as a prem for tonight but with the same thumbnail or is this part 2 of ripping up the streets of Pn 😀

@@Chris-NZ It's a Good Bike, a specialised Tricross, i found it on trademe, the owner was the owner of a bike shop in taupo, he had just changed his wholesaler from shepherd holdings which where the agents for specialised, to the "bike barn" part of the deal was he had to sell his bike that were not part of his new franchise! he was quite gutted about selling it! it looks like a hi spec road bike but it goes really well on the trails!

Thanks a lot Jennifer , I've had the Pocket 2 for about three years but was completely frustrated by the small screen in daylight especially , maybe made worse by being old with spectacles but the P3 is an entirely different proposition not just from the better quality, but for its much improved user experience . The opening video in this vid ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JZ5ZAAYXJqQ.htmlsi=VRL-flpfSAMtRecU is the P2 from 0:32 to 1:14 but is was just spray and prey ) . I tried the P3 in the Auckland museum in places I'd tried the P2 and been completely underwhelmed by the noisy video and the P3 in its low light mode was pretty outstanding. Yesterday I took it up to the pottery works at Matakana (have done a video there before) an indoor but not super-bright place and again excellent video and stills. I also took my big mirrorless Canon as well with good glass and thankfully its stills are still far superior but then for RU-vid does anyone care (well I do of course) . I had a bit of a rush of blood to the head and got the DJI action 4 about a month or more back (I have the original Action) and one thing I will say is that the menus are very similar to the P3 so quite aa good combo. Obviously the A4 is bomb proof and the P3 you need to take good care of but it does have a good hard case. The A4 can take stills and produce raw files you can stick through photoshop with pretty decent results but the user experience in taking stills is a million miles away from my mirrorless. On the other hand although it's supposed to be weather sealed I'm very reluctant to take my Canon being expensive out in the rain which of course is where the A4 comes into its own.
