2 of these passenger cars are from the first run in 1997. The other car is from 2004. The flat car with cannons is from 1989. 30-6413 passenger coach 30-6400 Check out my other channel @pinballmayhem
Thanks Steve. While doing my research for the video I found so many neat paint jobs for these cars that I never knew about. Just more things to add to my wishlist
Hi Jeremy...that set is certainly an eye opener. Nice job getting them running smoothly. I have that cannon car with the PRR road name. It has some good weight to it with the solid plate underneath. Love the shirt...Merry Christmas ! 😄
Thanks James. The longer I am actively in the O-gauge hobby the more I am seeing that K-line put out some really neat stuff. I'm still an MTH fanboy though
Are 12-volt bulbs likely to burnout sooner when running at higher voltages? With a Marx Transformer max voltage is 12 V., can I get away with using lower voltage bulbs? If so, then what?
Since you run conventional control, you are good. The issue comes when cars (in this example) are run on a command control layout where the track always has full voltage. That sends 18 volts to everything and shortens the life of these early style bulbs. With your Marx 12 volt system, you aren't running it at 100% I'm guessing. So if the bulb is too dim then you can certainly change it for a lower voltage one.
