Mr. Goodpliers returns to the auction sites to load antique cars and trucks with Joe and Gordon! Follow along to see what we moved and how we did it, as vintage Chevy, Nash, Pontiac, Plymouth, and Ford vehicles head to the Rust Ranch!
You guys are doing a great service to the hobby in general...Old junkyards are disappearing at an alarming rate. 20years ago, these cars were barely of "parts car" status...Now it's what's left to restore! And there are far less of them every day! Keep it up Goodpliers and gang!
my mom lives in Portugal and about 15 years ago the government ordered all the junkyards to be cleared (apparently it was an environmental issue), the values of classic cars skyrocketed over there and now it's almost impossible to get parts! When it's gone, it's gone forever!
Keep the banana-yellow Cadillac, make it safe and roadable as daily driver for you or someone else with good taste. Its cosmetic imperfections are marks of its virtue and longevity. Vehicle has tons of character and miles more attractive than 99.9% of all other cars. Plenty of comfort and power. Keep saving em from the scrapper-man, Mr. G.
There is something about goodpliers video that has that certain ingredient. Could be his way of relaxed talking or the content of the video but whatever it is I find myself living vicariously threw his videos .It is a big part of my morning coffee break. I should say also that I grew up in the car business and was very familiar with auctions. Those days are past but this is probably more fun to watch then the real thing because we don't have to leave our chairs. Many thanks !
19:21 The 1972 Honda Z600 is a cute little Honda from Japan during the 1970s! It's too adorable to end up getting crushed and glad this cute little car from Japan was saved!
That was funny in the video you ask what was that❓ That was a mouse chasing his home . It's like hey you broke into my home you're destroying it and now you're stealing it He might have been out for vengeance.😂
The 56 Cadillac would make a great patina cruiser as long as the frame isn’t rusted out. My 53 Plymouth Cranbrook was in similar condition without the hail when I got it. Even the blasphemy of a 350/350 Chevy combo would be worth doing
Love your aproach! Saving as much as possible: Turn it into yard art or use those vehicles to save others. Or even make a few of them running cars again! I had a friend with over 700 cars on his car cemetary that he was forced to auction off and scrap all the rest. I saved a small Austin A30 front half that is beside my front door. I even went to help saving a bit of the rest to prevent some parts from being dumped into the scarp bin. I was punished with back problems for helping out for free. But during auction day I did not even bid on any of the cars. There was a Studebaker Hawk I had tried to buy from him since 1978! It had gotten to rough for me at the end. But I tell you there was a bidding frenzy and nearly every rotten vehicle sold for at least twice the value. One of the most expensive cars was a 1947 Mercury without rear axle: It was auctionned off for about 5000$ and the winner paid for it. At the end he did not even pick it up! I love the Rambler Station! It could be a great project for the right person. I(f it would be done better than the one Gas mokey garage put their hands on). Those Ramblers are hopelessly underrated as most Studebakers and Nashes are. I tried to buy a 52 Statesman when I was a teenager. But I could not afford it at the time and the old hag that owned it did not want to let it go. When she died I had to say that I did not want this rusty relict car. In Europe you did not have any chance getting parts for a Nash. That was before the Internet. The Cadillac is REALLY rough. But somehow it would be a crying shame if it would only be used for parts and the rest would get scrapped. But I see it realisticly: Saving this one is a labour of love and financially spoken it does not make a lot of sense. But I pray that someone will save it: What a gorgeous car!
That Cadillac is so beautiful. You have the right idea to get it running and drive it around as is. No doubt it would turn heads. It would be a shame to use it as a parts car.
Thanks Tim, has Joe run out of space at the rust ranch yet?!!! That Caddy looks really good, it's only when you look closer that you see all the problems! I would fix the glass, get it running and drive it as is! I loved seeing the time capsule house.
Great footage also beneath the car rescuing ✌️✌️✌️ that farmhouse was so neat! History is such a great thing. I am from Germany and that kids painting just flushed us back 80 years in time!
I love how you save automotive history from the scrap yard. Just in those obsolete manufactures alone, measurements, materials and chrome pieces will be invaluable in the future.
Loved the final scenes of the house. Think of the history of that house thru the depression, WWll, baby boom plus all the family members that walked thru those doors for holidays, parties, births, funerals. If only the walls could talk!
Mr. B. Here ! Mr. G. Yes it is a tuff car ( Cadillac) if I could I would leave the body as is and make a driver ! So few of those vehicles are left . I have to many toys now ( Mrs. Would Kill Me if one more came home ) LOL ♻️ 🔧🧰 🚗🚙
Ship the cadillac! The pleasure here has to be having owned these cars and placing them in good homes. Saving them from the crusher and those cutting the frints off for wall art. (Unless that's the last straw)
That Caddy is very valuable in the state it's in. It's a two-door HT Coupe DeVille. Dents can be pulled. Missing trim can be found. Engines can be replaced. Interiors can be reupholstered. Therefore, do NOT part it out. SAVE IT.
At 17:17 time, your cutting the rear end of that Ford car. A buddy of mine (Tommy Moore, had a shop called Moore's Hotrod's) did a back seat (single seat) did an awesome job on it. Don't know if he still has it or not. But, reminded me of it when y'all were cutting out the back end of the Ford. Thanks for sharing your videos too
Actually kinda surprised at the completeness of some of the Kansas stuff(42 President has most of it's lights/trim). Honda Z600 should sell or part well(rear hatch/front bumper may be most valuable), hope you got the wheels for it, I saw them in your initial video. Really hope the Texas Impala makes it back to the road - a NICE, SOLID car.
I guess, i' d keep the Coupe de Ville for a while, the Beat Up still nice patina Look makes it unique, the interior didnt seem to be that Bad also. Problem could be finding Glass for it on a reasonable price. Guess the Motor could be managed to unstick, Just try it! Plus i Kind of Like the Belvedere to See rather be restored instead of Being Wallhanger and Couch, lol
They have mobile hail damage removal that did super job on my truck/,car for $24 per dent. They use dry ice No need to repaint. Insurance company totalled them both , I bought them back and spent $3169 to get them clean and straight
Keep the Caddy.. mechanically update it to make it viable to drive. I'd do a 4 wheel disc conversion, just me.. clean up the interior back to original.... and then cruise it everywhere.. looking exactly as it stands.. very cool car..
Something that might help Joe and the loader is radio, some from of walkie talkie. The hand signals can get confusing and I would hate to see an accident.
Time capsule answer - you should know this ... end result is okay BUT ITS THE CHASE is the answer. Buried from sight is OUT OF SIGHT IS OUT OF MIND. Then someone re-finds the time capsule so it is ALL ABOUT THE CHASE. Is my answer. Also you guys are not allergic to working ! I enjoy your knowledge too and thanks for cool videos
They are a barrel of fun. I remember the college guys getting ahold of one. They would tote it all over the lawns on campus, crank it up, and play it. It created great memories for all who were in on it.
I love the Cadillac and that white Impala. They both deserve to be back on the road. ....also that massive old lathe. I sure hope it gets saved as well.
Glad you saved the Honda 600. It's Such a low volume car that you may never be able to part it out,but you never know,Someone may be looking to build an EV out of something small and light.
Seems like almost an archaeological dig. What do you make of the fact that with a few exceptions, (the Honda) most of the cars were from the same era? Who did this? Why? How did they select and procure the cars? Interesting story I’m sure.
That Cadillac look better then meny other cars from that year and it have options and it`s a 2doors so i think you should not shell it . It`s a car that can give the money back that you put in to it .
Mad props to u guys for saving that old iron.,.not much more of that around , or even junkyards with that era vechiles , its all pick and pulls full of hondas and crap , thk u guys for your hard work.
I would keep and re- build the whole thing it's really not that bad anyway to me their cool cars my grandma had one just like it. And l did not see rot and the hale stones lv seen a new way of talking out the dents. And yes l would soak the engine for weeks just let in sit .l made a box of steel so two engines can sit in the steel box
Hi Mr. good pliers, wondering if you have a 1970 Oldsmobile 98 or anything that would fit between the different makers I need some trim parts and the AC compressor and the brackets. I am in the middle of a restoration of this vehicle.
Most of that is 1970 98 only. I don't currently have any right now. Possibly Chad from Nobody's Show or Browne Auto Salvage in Sunset, Texas. If you are on Facebook, the Oldsmobile Club of America has a page. There's a chance I may have a compressor though. I can be reached at mrgoodpliers1985@gmail.com
