I have a 1990 500SL, the 5.0 v8… and that thing drinks fuel like a drunken frat boi. Especially if u floor it, which I can’t help but do. I can’t even imagine how how much more the v12 is lol.

@@bendagaIt wouldn’t, these cars alone with the regular fixes are reliability nightmares, mainly because Mercedes tried to make an eco friendly wiring harness but instead they made one that slowly decomposes for most of the cars of this generation from Mercedes, and it’s fine for most but the V12 wiring harnesses in particular are incredibly hard to find since you can’t (unless something has changed recently, I don’t believe it has) buy them from Mercedes anymore… It’s even worse for the Sl600s as the hydraulics are also a mess for those cars on top of everything else. With that said if you have the money and don’t care about resale then it’s still an amazing car. 🤷

@@batuhan4002 There are also some people I’ve since found that rebuild them, as well as some people who will rebuild the hydraulics for the R129 SLs roofs, which makes these cars a significantly more enticing prospect when you consider how cheap they are even in good condition.

V12 is a turbo that is called ( V12 BITURBO )

@@GameOver-nm2us I love an f1 car as much as the next guy. Luxary cars use unequal length headers in order to gain more low end torque and make operation smoother. So unless you change the entire exhaust system it's just going to sounds like a ricer.

hi as a nerd of these cars and owner of a last year model, they were strangely called three different names during their life. Early models were the SEC, then they were badged as an S-classe Coupe, then for the final 4~ ish years, they got facelifted, and the first gen "CL" class was born.
