This confirms the tests from Project Farm for the Audew. Compact size, good performance and a great carrying case 👍 Project Farm tested it on 2019, I believe there is another more recent video testing new jump starters.
I bought an Audew last week. I haven't tested it yet on a V8 engine but it jump started my dead UTV battery no problem. Saved the day. I will be making a video about the Audew's V8 starting capability this weekend. I know the NOCO GB40 would no start my Mopar 4.7L V8. My work has the NOCO and it would not start my truck which is why I went with the Audew after watching @Project Farm video on battery jump starters.
You told the audience to bypass the safety controls on the Noco. The unit senses the battery when you hook it up. If you hook it up after pressing the boost button you could ark the battery or install it backwards. Read the instructions first.
Another big question is longevity. All these small boosters are basically throw away after the internal battery quits charging. I've heard 2-3 years maybe. The gimmick is when the negative reviews come rolling in a new "upgraded model" appears and the cycle starts over.
I have been using my Noco70 for the last year at our car lot and it has always performed every time, So i will buy a audew also and see if it performes the same as my Noco! Thanks!
bought audew skeptical of these jump packs, it preformed excellent ,recharged after every use . only used it for 6 starts on slow cranking batteries, then it quit working ,wouldn't transfer power to battery even when audew was fully charged. audew less than a year old! no customer support. i watched project farm as you all did and bought on that basis. the noco used on that episode was a small unit basically crap for automotive engines. I now have noco150 pro it's a beast! cranks 7.3 over effortlessly on coldest days. can start this vehicle easily 3 times on single charge
Recently, Monkey Wrench Mike tried to use his Audew on a dead Mercedes, nothing at all! Had to charge the battery and start it that way. See my other comment for info on the Noco...
You can use the load tester on the boosters. Just remember the load tester is not insulated between the clamp holders . Make sure both battery tester clamps are removed from the tester before connecting to the booster. Both boosters have short protection circuits but just in case.
I got the NOCO 40 to start a 1000cc motorcycle. I also got an eBay £20 unit which is about the size of a pocket calculator. With the main battery removed from the bike, only the Chinese one could start it! NOCO are sparkly junk! And where they get the CCA ratings from is a complete mystery!! Don’t waste money on NOCO crap. Thanks for your video, you proved the point nicely 😁👍
Noco products are greatly over rated in their output as well as having a very horrendous failure rate and I know that for a fact because I am one of many technicians that repair them and I personally repair several dozen of these a year and the vast majority of them are fairly new. There have been several proper capacity tests done on the Nocos as well and to no surprise there actual capacity as well as the true amount of current they put out is substantially less than what they are advertised to put out. It seems that we are living in a time when companies simply put what ever ridiculous number they think will sell these and many other products and the shear amount of fraud is pathetic since companies such as Noco dont just exaggerate the power claims but they flat out deliberately lie about the true specs and there doesnt seem to be any punishment for misleading and bullshit claims .In this case like anything that anybody purchases, consumers really need to take the time and effort to properly research these things because like I mentioned earlier, there are several impartial tests done on these and they arent the paid for bullshit reviews and they do show just how badly over rated these things truly are. Your review is one of the most realistic ones that are currently out there.
I have both the Audew and the Noco, and after boosting quite a few dead batteries in the Canadian winter, i find that the Noco performs much better that the Audew. I will keep using the Noco, the Audew just couldn't cut it
Bought an Audew last year. Complete waste of money. I charged it and put it in my wife’s car (2005 Ford Escape 3.0) in case of emergency. A few months later the battery died, and we needed to boost it. Followed the directions and connected the Audew turned the key and ..... click, click, click - nothing! Battery showed 1 bar. Luckily we were at home, and I have an old NOCO GB40 that had been sitting in the trunk of my car for over a year. Connected it to the Escape and it started right up. I tried charging the Audew but it won’t charge completely. SO I basically have a $100 (Canadian) paperweight/doorstop now. Very disappointed.
I ran it down to ~ 20% and then fully recharged it to condition it before putting in my wife’s car. It was only in the car for 3 or 4 months. The NOCO sits in my trunk winter and summer, and was ready to go with no issues. I have used it several times, including one time when my neighbor took his Mustang out of winter storage and the battery was so dead lights on the dash would not light up. It was totally dead, and the NOCO fired it right up. I’m not sure why anyone would want an emergency booster pack that you need to change every time before you can use it? If we had been out somewhere, with no access to the NOCO, we would have been stuck looking for a boost, or calling roadside assistance. But even worse, now it’s just useless as it won’t even charge fully, and it never worked, not even once.
I have the Noco gb70 and also the Audew. I am impressed with the Audew but just wonder what the longevity will be. The Noco seems more heavy duty and I would expect it to last longer.
Auto Auction Rebuilds uses this same Noco on his Copart walk around videos. Starts 4 cyl and even diesel pickups with the Cummins . Gets 15-30 starts out of 1 charge. Nice to see the alternator is charging or not. On yours no guessing, it was almost 14 volts. You know the alternator is OK.
I like the Audew longer cables and a bit wider clamps would be better… but it does an excellent job … it’s a capacitor so no battery to explode if you leave it in the trunk in the summer!!
Nothing is easy. Every top ten list has something other than the Audew listed. Every field test I have found prefers the Audew to those top 10's that cost double what this unit does. All the field tests seem to agree that the most expensive models are overpriced. I'm buying the 2000 amp Audew and putting it in the car hoping to never use it but comforted that it will if needed.
I have the Audew. I've used it 5 times in 2years and never had a problem. I've used it on V 6 times and my 5.4L Ford F-250 and it started that just as strong as it did with the V-6 . I was skeptical about these small jump starters but have been impressed.
i am watching from the future and the noco is 375$ on sale for black friday 300$ and the audew is 100$ but on sale for black Friday for 65$ so 1/3rd the price and works about the same
@@Smittyschannel Thank you for the suggestion. In process of cancelling my walmart order for 92 bucks! Already ordered via the link. Breaking payments via paypal in four payments of 17 bucks. Thanks alot again. Cheers
HEY GANG! If you missed the Black Friday special, Audew is having a $20 / 20% off sale until Christmas day. Here's the link: m.audew.com/custlink/GDKvmmr6dK Go get em!
How long does the Audew last before you have to get a new one? I just recently bought a brand new 3 YEAR 🔋 for my 2009 Honda Civic Sedan LX? Do I need one now? Let's say I purchased the AUDEW today can I let it sit there collecting dust for many years do I have to worry about the lithium battery dying, until I actually need to plug 🔌 it into the socket for recharge to use again?
@@arealhebrew I would use it on something once a month or so, either on a car, or to charge your cell phone. Also plug it in to charge for a little bit every few months just to keep the battery energized & working. I still have my original one & it's been 2 years; so far so good
I'm getting an Audew 1000A max Friday from Amazon for less than $60! I have a hybrid so all I need is to get the electric side started and that won't be cranking the gas engine to start. This was not an apples a to apples comparison because of the difference in max amps, but I don't like a bag as a cas for a normally $250 jumper!. Thanks for your video.
When you say the Audew turned the engine over faster, just remember the Noco did it from cold as cold start could be and the Audew did it on an engine which had just recently been fired up. I was born at night, just not last night.
HEY EVERYONE! Found out Audew is having a Black Friday sale- here are links to getting them at 20-25% off for the next two days! If you wanted to get one, now is the best time. Damn, this is GB150 pro ! I saw some test the GB 40,GB70 vs Audew ! Audew won both ! This GB150 pro maybe winning! I just bought the Audew for $96.55! Don’t know how much this GB150 pro cost? Wow, I think the Audew win !
Do test again at same temp 24 hrs later but start with the Audew. Noco lubricated the engine making it easier for Audew on first test. Audew is probably better but not to prejudice the test do it again starting with the Audew then the Noco.
Note the Audew like a lot of the newer boosters have a very high boost voltage ( 16.50v + between 80-100% capacity). A fast turn over rate is desirable in a booster.
Had a noco GB40, it is junk, it cant give enough power to start a 2.0 4 cylinder engine. Its ridiculous.! went through two units (one replaced by warranty) both behaved exactly the same. Weak.
@Smitty's channel: @8:35 This is the same thing happening to me right now. I have an MTX interstate battery in my Audi A5. After I jump started it (with cables) my OBD reader showed me a running voltage of 14.5. I took the cables off, tried to restart the car ...and it did not start. My OBD reader said my charge was 11.2. Now I'm like WTF. Does a premium AGM battery supposed to do this? Don't know how long it's been sitting. I saw 12/21 on it and I just bought it 2 days ago from an authorized Interstate office/dealer. I'm conflicted as to buying something like a (power pack) or do I simply buy a compatible battery charger for this 900cc/95Ah battery? Any thoughts any body ???????
Ideally you should charge / top off a new or used battery before you put it to use; most ppl don't (myself included). Your battery may have a dead cell. First I would take it back to the store & get another one; might have them test it to confirm your results. A load tester would help confirm this. Personally I would also buy a battery pack just in case, to cover your butt. Lord knows things only go wrong when you're far away from home or unprepared lol. Other things to note: 1) Most cars today won't even start unless it's close to 12.0 volts or more. 2) A vehicle's alternator is NOT designed to recharge a battery; it's designed to keep it topped off. If it's a little low, charge it before you drive the car again. Let us know what happens.
There's a reason: the green light does not turn on if the battery is dead. It can't confirm you connected with correct polarity. Boost button overrides that. On a normal weak battery, the jump start pack will read enough current to alert you with red, blinking green if you had bad connections. Or will turn solid green if connections are good, in which case you don't need to press boost. My guess is Smitty was not aware of that either, otherwise he would've made the connections first There's no "extra juice boost" option if thats what you were thinking
HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE! Audew is running a summer special for a few days only! Use this link to get the 2000 amp jumper pack (like shown in video) for $65! that's the cheapest it's ever been (cheaper than I bought mine for lol) Use this link- www.audew.com/custlink/vGGGDGjwcz
Read your directions please, you’re supposed to wait approximately two (2) minutes between start attempts or you risk damage to the battery pack from overheating. Thanks for the video all the same.
Hi there, I am JF.EGWO electrical company. We have a newly released jump starter with air compressor, it's versatile and nice. Are you interested in including our product in your video? We can discuss over this.

@@Smittyschannel I did contact them, they said they are completely out of the Jump Starters and with what's going on now they will try to make some soon. As for the double charge they aren't giving me any reasons why.
I bought one from the Audew site about the same time as you did. No problems. $89. Cheapest I found it anywhere. Make sure you are buying THIS model. They also sell smaller ones.
I stopped watching when i saw you are not filming this in landscape. That horizontal.... Why would screw up and film in portrait? Vertically. I hate that dumb move,,,
If you watch the video I am not the one filming. When I film, I film in landscape. So sorry to put you out like that. I will send you a refund shortly....
