Thank you for the comment Ben! I’m lucky to have finally bought this car. I tried to buy it from two different sellers, & thought I had missed out. When a viewer saw the car become available a 3rd time, I had to try and buy it. I could not even view the listing because the seller may have had me blocked. I made a new fb account just to message the guy, & he denied blocking me… Such a crazy story how it finally got home.
Thank you! These cars are tough to find in good condition. Most of them are abandoned and not running. I will give this car all the love I can and make it beautiful.
We needed a project car, so I can get on track & recording onboard videos sooner rather than later. My Camry is strictly a commuter car! Thank you for the comment Zanychelly!
You are the reason I was able to buy this car when I did. Thank you so much for your dedication to the channel Tuner!. I will be just as dedicated to making this build series a special moment. The summer should be awesome!
For real. I am excited to start replacing some parts when I get paid again. The support from you guys matters more than ever! I am happy to be making a video series like this. It is a dream for me.
Great Video. Bring it to our Daytona Track for an SCCA event sometime. It was really cool to join you on this journey outside of the normal "rig", keeping it real as always.
I am a bit too far from Florida, in Connecticut, but I will definitely be getting on track as soon as possible! I am glad you enjoyed the Vermont scenery! It is such a beautiful place
Its all about money with a project like this. I will have plenty of time during summer vacation, but for every dollar I spend on the car, RU-vid NEEDS to make it back somehow. I will try my best to complete the car mostly by September, then final touches in the fall. A track day in August or July is the goal.
Mike, that daytime Vermont scenery looked familiar. I grew up close to there, in northeast New York, on the Vermont, Canadian border. Have fun with your new project.
Thank you Chuckls! Your neck of the woods is absolutely beautiful. Looks very peaceful out there, & for some reason many of the remaining old Audi vehicles are hidden deep in areas just like this.
I think the droning noise is 95% CV Axle or Wheel bearing. My Camry makes some light noises too which I blame on CV's. The aftermarket exhaust is a bit raspy, but the car sounds 8/10. Not sure if you saw the clip where I revved in the tunnel... The Audi has surprisingly good sound from the straight piped 2.8.
Yes, as much work as I possibly can at home. Paying a mechanic is not in the budget at the moment and wrenching myself makes better videos. It shows people at home repairs can be done. If I can change radiators, fix brakes and repair sunroofs, then literally anyone can.
So back in university for my meteorology degree… back in like 2015, I received a big refund check for my loan tuition from the school I was enrolled at for $5000.00
With that money, I was determined to buy a used Champ Car race car. Champ car is a more professional & organized version of LeMons 🍋 I read extensively about both series in their forums at the time, trying to put myself in a position to race at grass roots level
I had a car lined up to buy, spoke to the seller and everything But my mother ended up directly asking me for my $5000. She had fallen behind on the rent for her accounting business, & asked me to help. Reluctantly, knowing it would crush my dreams and opportunities, I went to cash the check & handed over the money. It was devastating
In the end, the car I was thinking of buying was not very good and didnt fit the regulations of the next season. I was also not at the level I am currently racing at now. I was unprepared. I would be much better off if I tried this all today. There are no regrets about giving up that 5k… My time will come 💯
Thank you for watching and commenting on the video Naught Shore! This video didnt do nearly as well as I had hoped it might. I changed the thumbnail after it quickly ran out of steam. Hopefully that helps people see it & makes it more clickable long term
