Perfect! I am now a happy camper. After watching yr video, I went off to buy a set of $10 torqx screw driver set and managed to complete the task. Thanks so much Harvey.
If your key dosn't look the same it won't fit. Do you want to replace/upgrade the whole key? If you do then you can get new empty shell bodies which you may be able to use your internal parts, not sure. Search online for your specific key upgrades/repairs.
The German old dialect for the word Fuppe, meaning "pocket". Watch 'FOBS' were around as early as 1888. The KEY FOBS a little later after the model T, which didn't have a key to start with can you believe! :-)
The key should work. If your key doesn't work after you removed the battery then you need to re-sync the key or keys. key in ignition turn to pos1 and hold unlock until key flashes, two keys then also put one in door and lock/unlock press unlock hold. I may do a video on this to explain the process more clearly. Hope this helps :-)
No, the code won't be lost on these keys as you haven't interfered with the chip at all. Later models are more difficult to get into without damge, but this one is OK. If your car looses the code when the battery is changed then it will re-pair to the car on first use (pairing can also be forced by holding unlock and using 2nd key in lock/ignition I believe)
Hi there Good video For your information and anybody else who will be undertaking this procedure.The Torx bits are as follows; T 6 for the single one next to the key. . . . . . . .😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 T 4 at the bottom where you see two screw heads.. . . . . . . .😊 😊 😊 😊 😊A word of warning do not try using a small screwdriver, ( they are in very tight ) you will strip the head then you are into a whole new ball game . . . . . .😓 😓 😓 😓 😓 Good luck😊 😊 😊 😊
Thanks 'To F' for letting everyine know the torx bit sizes to use, I never got around to buying a set that small and like most of us - most kits are too big. I think the manufacturers use the 'path of least resistance' model to steer us to use their engineers :-)
Hi there The set that I use is seen here;www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25-Multi-Small-Precision-Hex-Torx-Star-Mini-Screwdriver-Set-Bits-Repair-Tool-Kit/303379218178?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item46a2cf7f02:m:mm7saPJXuseFDboo_Jpn6pQ&enc=AQAEAAACQBPxNw%2BVj6nta7CKEs3N0qX9embjfguLkpciLnHYQnv2z%2BLH%2BURrEZZQOKQ9XgI6MpjyaJtidy0RGJR8Yk%2B3H0uBOh8kCQtFFdJeGaAPPub3eToFuOtrihDujR%2FvFGpKTC%2B9PzvJevj8ZHKfuvs8OhF%2FDsfM%2BuwvMuBzv8ZamiYxpgBy9oB5XEeuQga7rTP%2FchseQ%2FVdtZvzHAEamUetscjJvH%2B7l1FY7ODvo2guW4h6bB6TYRKJVF%2BDAauq5lWp15f1t36MZE2C%2BjZZ2Q8fBEbmclZd1xIxnKbw%2BuiDHDJ5wheeVTG1nceNQ85DIrdvRTGP5S5IeGJz67%2BcD3cWe0IE4EPfCste%2BcrwS9gJaVa%2FllPmRsVSYL94YgrwytIzjFCijNGJuKMGp4FHlKO8t8%2B3PUYV%2Bra%2BODTg8zwFN6QLohvw6t2Y6qNn3eRVEykj0b32g2KPPfXMeMAD2bVG0e5aohCPbxIhmleVkl9PbFnXW6JTLTo7vnxBefySvZ%2FwbOduln7CRCA20dnzEKzLEvcGCCMzb4VHZbZItS3d5jiCnS3s%2Fpjds8LX8A6jZ9UJFFzLusaM44mMKukPwXYVQz%2BYM%2B%2B0gaHr1TpbNKdm%2Fz8BzH3sBi0Fa5NBue9APRgmafLr3rRGoMYAzV%2FGCfkXPLO4I2gbBSoXs7WycrQI5NKuP1zEJ%2BBS%2FsxSzoA0%2BprCSxNjpr4W59AVOI2b03UQWrx2yC4S58wNAJObchVvmYCCZu%2FSOdu7RZkNDLIIfYtiIw%3D%3D&checksum=303379218178f9a6c8f49e9e4c7886b9bfa80c95fcb6
