Thanks a lot for making this tutorial! I believe it was thanks to your video I became aware that it was possible to retrofit these brackets to the b6/b7 cars in the first place and with a first child on the way a safe car seat was quite high on the priority list. My car is a b7, I can maybe add a few things I found during my search for the parts as well as the install: - In my search for the parts I have noticed 2 variants of these brackets seem to exist with identical numbers but ending in A instead of B like you listed here. As far as I could tell the "A" variants are mainly sold as being compatible with the b6 and the "B" variants for the b7. However, since you seem to have had no problems fitting the "B" variants to your b6 I am not sure what the difference between both would be. On the pictures both look identical, so if any update happened to the design it's not an obvious one. - While the actual chassis part looks the same in my car, I did not attempt to remove the backrest of the rear bench as my middle seat has a 3-point belt which goes into the top of the seat instead of the lap belt you have. This made me suspect the removal process would not be the same as it did not seem possible to remove the back rest without at the very least removing the middle belt as well. Luckily, my car has folding seats (I know this used to be an option in some cars, I'm not sure whether all b6/b7 sedans have this) and if you fold the seats down halfway you are able to access the bolt holes and screw in the brackets, if you are prepared fiddle about with it a bit. - A final minor difference is that my bench has a hole for the seatbelt buckles instead of the open cut-out in yours, which makes refitting the side with the two buckles a bit more of a challenge 😅

Hi Brent, thanks for the detailed comment and it's great to hear that you've got ISOFIX installed in your B7. There's a lot of people terrified at the prospect of a job like this (due to safety implications) but as you've discovered, it's really not that difficult and certainly I'd trust any parent to do a better job than a typical mechanic. Wishing you safe travels!

@@MostlyHelpfulI've done it! Super easy just like you explained in your video! I did not know that our Audi model had ISOFIX from factory. Thank you again for this information, it helped a lot. And I used threadlocker just to be save 👌🏻😉

You can certainly get ISOFIX for the Avant models but I don't know whether the part numbers are the same or not.

Is there any of you who can show a related compatible Isofix retrofit for A 4 b5 facelif year 2001?

I've not had a B5, but I've done a number of ISOFIX retrofits for other brands and the process is often the same. First thing to do is to inspect behind the seat to check you have the correct mounting points, which are threaded holes in the body of the car. You may need to remove the seat back to do this. Second is to buy the ISOFIX parts for your particular Audi A4 (I bought mine on eBay). If you haven't already, it's then a case of removing the seats - there will be a guide somewhere on RU-vid on how to do it. Then you install your ISOFIX bars in the same way as shown in my video and put everything back together. From the quick bit of research I did you "may" need to trim a bit of the seat fabric but I'd fit everything first before committing yourself. Good luck!
