This guy is so right about sound damping in cars. Never even thought about it until I drove the 2017 Honda Civic and this car was soooo NOISY OMFG, it felt like a cheap tin can. I couldn't even believe they sell something like this...

Lets see when the facelift comes. I am oscilating between this and the BMW 530i Touring. For now there also many delays on deliveries (even some options can be not available) due to lack of electronic components.

I'm buying one of these soon, thanks for the great review and POV camera. I like to drive my own cars too with minimal safety and technology features, but as somebody who drives a lot of distance every day and does long night shifts, the features will be very useful for me!

The touch screens really aren't that bad as soon as you get used to them. Took me about two weeks but now it's all just muscle memory. Functions you use often (like completely turning off lane guidance) can individually and permanently be placed in the top row of the lower screen. There is also the shortcut button on the steering wheel which lets you activate any setting you like (I have it set so it has the camera show my front right wheel, I sometimes use that when parallel parking). Most of the things you do are done through the virtual cockpit anyway. And I just always have my climate at synced at 21C auto, so no need to bother with that lower screen too much. I do admit though that I wipe the screens down almost every day.

I just hate the amount of touchscreens VW Gruppe puts into their cars these days... They might be cool and all, but operating while driving just feels like it requires too much attention.

Yeah im liking the new A5 with its old system the wheel in the middle. The touch screen is probly good and awesome to use but it just scares new customers with those massive screens.

I get what you mean, but like any other car, if you own it, eventually you would get used to it. Everything would sort of feel natural and wouldn't take much attention.

@Paradox As the petrolhead i am, the pipe design and the exhaust sound are so satisfying and important for me. That's the reason why i'm so disapointed when they come fake. As with the speaker sound.

Today i rented a merc a at the airport and got this instead. Thank you avis ! I agree that these driving aids are a bit over the top, but like the tapping on the gaspedal is good because I otherwise had missed an exit. It is a comfy and luxurious car and also quite fast, but does not really engage sporty feelings to me. The bmw 3 had that more, maybe because it is lighter. Never drove a 5 series though

I can't help myself but notice the amount of times the ESP kicks in. You're almost guaranteed to engage it anywhere between 1st and 3rd gear. Too much diesel torque even for those massive front wheels lol

You can still turn all of the assists off. And if you're driving 12 hours in a row it can be relaxing and helpful

Well agree with you! It's nice but it's not ergonomic. I much prefer a central wheel system, traditional screen and more physical button for the main functions like air conditioning, defrost, etc. For me it remains the top of ergonomics because no need to leave the road eyes to quibble on a screen.

Audi are such a joy to drive long distances, comfy quiet, reassuringly sure footed when you get a riggle on, i am now looking at one of these for a replacement for my Q7 which i will be sorry to see go but with how the goverment take advantage of your posterior i would rather leave my money in my pocket than line theirs. Plus i have just bought a puppy for my daughter so my needs have changed.

The orange stuff at the headlight at 1:45 is from the car wash. The brushes from the car wash get stuck at the edges near the head lights and so they cut off there. It's a common problem on the current Audi A6 and A4 as I found out on internet forums

Hi, mounting the camera on your head gives the video a weird (top - down) angle. It makes it difficult to see the real shape of the car. Do you mind changing that? A hand-held will be better in my opinion.

When you have the driving aids you can turn them of whenever you want (push of one button in Audi) when you don't have (any other car) that's bad because that car is dangerous every time you are tired (after for example driving 5-6 hours).

I like exterior, however it has too much (unecessary) tehnology like warning when you drive too close to the car in front. Screens inside makes you feel that you are driving computer not a car. Well I like to drive cars....

Ian Polo you’re not supposed to operate them while driving. Instead you should use voice commands. When stationary the touchscreens are superior to physical buttons both in precision and speed.

There is no doubt about it, the Germans build quality automobiles. Everyone tries to catch up, but in the mean time they take another leap forward. I'm not sure I like this numbering system Audi has adopted - 40, 50 etc
