The A8 D4 has the exact same problem and it's the same fix. Except I used several layers of 3M VHB so it sticks semi permanently. Thanks for the walk thru!
Great video! I just bought an Audi A8 2013 and unfortunately it came with this weird sound, but thanks to your video I found the cause of the problem. I found the motor for cheap and I will replace it,thanks a lot! :)
I had this issue since the moment I bought by S8 D4. Went ahead and applied your strategy and the noise was reduced but ended up disconnecting it lol Its not a big deal to have this feature and now I have peace :)
BRILLIANT!! EXCELLENT VIDEO!!! thanks for the solution!!! Have owned my A8L for 5 years and I've been wondering where that sound came from and how to resolve it, now I know how...THANKS AGAIN!!!
Was able to unplug the module rather easily. Removed that one screw in the sunglasses holder, pulled housing down and disconnected the module. Fumbled putting housing back due to section connected to the windshield fell off. Wasn't expecting that and virtually needed 3 hands to put it back. Got it done in less than 12 minutes. I would suggest putting a piece of tape on the portion close to the windshield to hold it in place before disassembly
@@Erv704 yessir. Initially the moonroof would not close on its own after removing that wind sensor. But after adding some wd40 to the track, it closed smoothly
The crazy part is brought my A8 to Audi Tampa and they were clueless about what the exact problem was. I will most definitely disconnect that motor. Thanks...
@@zlatanzifovskijr4576 i dont have any personal experience with the wd40 cleaner, id assume that it probably has similar properties to rubbing alcohol tho
Pulled it off in the d4 version 1 bolt and a gentle pull to get the switches off Shove a plastic fork inbetween the car and the motor Can’t test it without taking for a drive but if it works, I’m telling everybody that my once flagship car has literally been repaired by a plastic fork 😂
