It’s really great to see how partial you are in this review. Looking forward to the full review and possibly a comparison video with similarly spec’d EVs (ID4, EQA, or else). Not being an Audi fan, I am not yet sold on its superiority (probably, cause I haven’t seen it in person yet)

If it is really so roomy, has the perks, nicities, and quality of Audi, while cost in the low 40s, then it certainly a winner. Even though VW ID4s exterior is much more interesting in my opinion simply because it's innovative, unlike Audi's

Good review even if the XC90 P8 is the one I am waiting for. One thing that strikes me about the Audi: if they have managed to deliver 520 litres of cargo space, how on earth did BMW think that 500 litres is OK for the 4.95 m IX!

Enjoyed this review. I think the fact you only had it for a short while enhanced the review as it was genuine and in real time. You seemed to fall more and more in love with the Q4 as the review went on 🤣 That's basically what happened to me when I took it for a test drive - it was the most expensive 30mins of my life!!

I live somewhere in Africa and the charging infrastructure is NOT/NOT there. I don't even have an Audi dealership in my country but I really am tempted to buy this Q4 e-tron. I like it that much. I was thinking about a 2017 Audi A7 but with the same amount I can buy this because there is a huge customs fees cut in effect on EV's and PHEV's. I will be charging at home overnight and I can use my other gas powered car for long journeys. I am not totally decided yet but this could very much be my next purchase...

Hey Derek, great videos so far. I've been spending my day watching a few of them, seeing as I will be buying a car around December this year, and I am definitely leaning towards an EV. One thing you could possibly touch on in a video would be the differences between buying an IC vs an EV vehicles. Government grants, what to expect from NCT tests, road tax and the sort. I noticed for instance, right now AIB (I think) have a cross promotion going with Electric Ireland and Nissan for some good looking financing for the Leaf model. As a new consumer, what should I be looking for in terms of a new purchase, what should I be asking for, and how can I maximise my chances at grabbing a vehicle that will ultimately result in taking advantage of the different types of incentives that banks, government and even car companies provide? Looking forward to December already when I can get started exploring what's to come, more in depth!

My 2 cents : Stay away from the Leaf, it's an obsolete tech with a dead end fast charging standard (chademo). You'd lose a lot of money on the residual value.

Beautiful car. Audi has some of the best car interiors as well. The Q4 e-tron w/ it's 51.5 kWh battery and 335 km range will require it to get about 4miles/kWh, which at a weight of 1900 kg, which seems overly optimistic to me.

Gorgeous looking car, my only concern is if it looks a little too small. It's right on the lower size looking at it online. Have to see it in the flesh

Thanks for the comment Aural. It's a smaller SUV but at 187cm I can comfortably sit behind my drivers seat with large boot/trunk space too. For European roads, I think it's perfect. The e-tron may suit you better?

Thanks for the question Paul. This colour is Pebble Grey. Different markets may not offer the same colours or names but it's one of the 8 for Ireland.

Thanks for the comment. Big price difference between the two cars. I'm hoping to get the refreshed iPace on the channel soon. The 40 has a a 150kW motor with 310Nm of Torque. Which Jag are you thinking of? 320 or 400 and new or 2nd hand?

Thanks. Would like to know what its motorway lane assist is like in adaptive cruise control? Does it accurately follow the centre of a lane or bounce between the white lines?

Bob Flavin was driving one and it didnt have any Active Cruise Control or Reversing Camera in the model he was testing as audi trying to keep it under 50k to get the Grants. Dereks model i think he said cost €68k but dont know if had Active Cruise Control ?

Adaptive cruise is optional extra even in the 40 which is disappointing, separate pack to the MMI that has the Nav and traffic sign recognition. Not sure how it centres to be fair

Thanks for the comment Cindy. The 77kWh Q4 e-tron is more efficient Vs the 77kWh e-tron 50 quattro with around 20 extra Kms. It's also down to do you need the larger size of vehicle? The Q4 will be easier to park etc and big enough for 4 adults whereas the e-tron 50 will fit 5 in my opinion. My gut is telling me a high spec Q4 would be my choice but a side by side would be needed

I’m torn between going for the Etron sport 40 with the comfort and sound pack Or the Q4 e tron 35 S line with the technology + comfort and sound pack. What would you recommend please

@@NevoEVReviewIreland I’ve taken a look at some of my potential trips and how far they are from my home. The furthest is Lake District who’s about 303 miles. Others are between 150 and 180 miles. EV database has the real world range down as 175. So to be honest range is not a major concern.

Simple question....just reserved the Q4 Etron Sportback in Canada...cannot find any reference to the Homelink Garage Door Opener....seems ridiculous it would not have it in a car that (with taxes is $85k CDN)....is there a Homelink System in European models?

Just heard back Michael from an Audi Product Manager here in Ireland. "Yes Garage door opener (VC2) is available however, it is not starting production until the end of this year. Cost will be about €340"

Great review. It’s a fine looking car. For my money the Enyaq with a few extras is better than the Q4 base model. With basically the same platform and great build quality it’s a tight race to the top!

I think that is just a proof how good value for money this Q4 really is. Save a few extras and you get an Audi instead of Skoda.

I´m curious to know... when you´re driving the car, do you try to edit out the environmental noise whilst speaking? There seems to be a distinct difference between takes.

Thanks for the comment John. The editing software I use is Final Cut Pro 10. There's a audio tool that gives priority to voice and it was working extra hard that day as it was super warm so I had the Aircon on. Apologies. It normally isn't as pronounced with the driving sections.

Really looking forward to the Model Y. They won't have it all their own way in Europe now unlike the US with such a range of competing models which is great for the consumer. PS the Q4 e-tron was very quiet but recommend a test drive for yourself.

Is the green number plates just something the dealership is trying out on EVs?

It's what's known as a Garage Plate. The dealer has a number of them and can swap them around on cars. Can only be driven on roads at certain times (8am to 8pm) I think. Nothing to do with EVs at all

This car has a drag coefficient of 0.28 which is actually the same as the Nissan Leaf. Please try to mention the drag coefficient of cars when you review them Derek as some of us obsess over efficiency. When you've been driving ev's with smaller batteries for a few years you think this way.

This is strange and must be a pre-production car. All Q4 comes with electric tailgate as standard as well as usb c in back seat. Also is actually bigger than Q5 in cabin :)
