I really wanted to buy q4 50, but the price was too high, so ended up buying Tesla Y Long Range. The Tesla was 56k euro, while the Audi, with the options I wanted, was 73k euro, which is 17k euro extra. I even had the opportunity to get one for a weekend test drive recently (after buying the Tesla) and indeed the head up display, the quietness and comfort are better, but on the other hand the interior quality of my Tesla is better I think, no cheap plastics, consumption, performance and software are also better on Tesla. So if they were the same price, I would really think about which benefits of the two options suits me better, but the 17k euro difference is insane for me. Would have been justified only if everything was better in the Audi. I hope they improve there, if they want to keep this price.
I considered the Q4 e-tron, as well as other vehicles, but ultimately bought a Volvo C40. My take on the Q4 was pretty much the same as yours. On balance I thought it would suit my needs, but there were two main drawbacks to purchase one here in Canada: it was and is very expensive and the wait time for delivery was very long--more than a year. This is one of the best Q4 reviews I've seen. I found it well organized and that it covered all the bases in an engaging way. The beautiful scenery was a plus.
@felipecaina, I have no regrets after seven months of ownership. Such a wonderful car, which so far has been trouble-free! I took some time choosing between the two Volvos, but the Audi came it a distant third. The Audi's cost, fit and finish, lack of true one-pedal driving and aggressive front grill styling were the main negatives. I chose the C40 over the XC40 Recharge because I thought it had slightly better driving dynamics (which surprised me, but I’ve heard others make the same point) and preferred its exterior styling and large, fixed moonroof. I would keep the XC40’s sunroof closed, so it’s ability to open only brings disadvantages: less window area, less headroom and the potential for leaks in future that could be expensive to repair. Those who value being able to open the sunroof may of course have a different scorecard.
My BMW hybrid active tourer has range of 680 km on a full tank when you drive on a highway. As you can see am not a big fan of electric cars because of the depreciation and the cost of battery replacement.
Have all the gremlims in the MMI software and degrading mileage been eradicated with the 2024 q4 onwards? Great to hear from some recent new owners! Good concise video btw!
Our Q4 e-tron works flawlessly and the range has even been slightly improved after the update. It is now consistently above 400 km except if it is really cold and we're driving fast on the highway, then it drops to ca. 300 km. The software updates were made in June 2023 and all is good. The charging is still a bit slow, I've never seen faster than 125 kW but as we charge at home 95% of the time it is fine. I have not tested the 2024MY Q4, but seen many tests confirming it is good.
Thx for your comments. Ionity is good but also using the Tesla chargers is a very good option. I have both apps on my phone plus a local provider (TCS). An ofcourse the audi charging app.
Thank you for this. Although we are getting this as a company car, the looks, the range and space is what drew us to choosing this over anything else. Using a bespoke EV platform is also beneficial. But, if it wasn't being a company car, the wait time has driven us up the wall, as we ordered in August 21 and still waiting. If we stuck our own cash into it, would have gone for the BMW iX3 as they are kings for efficiency and effectiveness.
Super verdict, vielen Dank. Ich habe den Q4 in September 2021 bei der AMAG bestellt, habe bis dato noch kein Liefertermin. Wann haben Sie denn Ihren bestellt?
I love both my Q4 -50 and Tesla Model Y Long Range. It's not one or another, they both are fantastic. This review is fantastic! I agree with all the points made.
Another great video! A bit out of my price range, heh, but it's always interesting to hear about how the EV market is progressing and what companies are leading the pack with their products.
I am a huge Audi fan and have been waiting for the Q4 for ages. Nonetheless, I cancelled my April 2022 order after waiting for almost a year and learning it will be further delayed to Q3 2023. The war in Ukraine really messed VW Group's supply lines, the delays are unacceptable by now. It's a shame, such a nice car.
I agree that Audi has messed up the delivery planning entirely. I am informed that the situation should improve significantly over the next months. I see a number of stock units available at dealers already, but of course they are spec'd in other colours and with other options compared to what you would like. Delivery times in CH are down to ca. 5-6 months now. Much better than before, but Tesla delivers within weeks, so tough choice.
@@morten_hannesbo pls be aware that ID‘s or Enyaqs are quarterly improving. Right now they just introduced the SW 3.2 with lots new fetures like HPC filters etc. 😊 thx for your sharing!
@@mandioni Right, Audi have promised the next update since September 2022 and we are still waiting. Not the end of the world but functionality is suboptimal.
Why are all car presenters anal about large water bottles in the doors. I've never put them in any of my cars and not just you but all the rest go on about hard plastic surfaces perhaps they wear better! The Audi is a good motor but way to slow for my liking compared to others around the same price point.
Hi, I have not tested the top speed, but Audi claims 180 km/h and I have no reason to doubt this. I tested 0-100 km/h which I tested to be 6.8 sec in Sport mode and 88% SoC
In Canada I drive a Genesis Gv-60 which is loaded with options and technology. It drives very nicely and very fast. 0-100 in 3.6 seconds with its 429 hp (483 on boost mode) It is also extremely quiet, 17 speakers B&O sound system and the list goes on. In my life I’ve owned Audis, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche Macan and so far my overall favorite is this GV-60 which I’ve been driving for 8 months now. It also charges 10-80 in only 18 minutes. In Canada the price is $ 79,000 which converts to 54,000 Swiss francs. I find the prices of the German electric cars totally ridiculous for what they offer.
I tend to agree, the price gap has become too big. I will btw test the Genesis GV70 electrified later in March - the GV70 is also about 15% less expensive than the Audi Q4 and has more power, space and presence
