I respect the talent of F1 and Endurance racers, but rally drivers are really the best drivers out there. Just look how busy he is drifting tight corners steering with one hand while pulling the brake with the other and shifting mid corner. All with little room for error. That was insane to watch! And all with an actual 5spd not sequential! Alot of respect to that driver.
+deadeye0o Don't say that you won't even get out of the garage, assume the acceleretion or the braking or corner g forces. You won't even notice if the car looses grip and I can go on and on.
Damn that was some incredible and epic driving, Id say rally drivers like this guy are the best drivers in the world. I mean their skills are just ridiculous. Thanks for the onboard video I was dying for someone to post an onboard video of a group B car.
WOW. Even onboard that dissonant glorious 5-cyl engine sounds amazing. Incredibly badass driving, too - flicking the car around one-handed! Great car and looks like The Perfect Driving Position inside. Wow, just wow... awesome video!!!
+Rickyjr7306 Crowd control becomes an incredibly difficult thing when your venue is a 10 mile stretch of road. Those idiots will only have themselves to blame if something happens. The best that the event coordinators can do is tell them not to. Too bad really. Its idiots like those that got Group B banned in the first place. They just never learn.
I kow it's not the same driving technique as on a racetrack, but, is using the rear brake and drifting on every corner really the fastest way to go through this track ? ( I'm really not criticizing here, just curious )
Thats more like powersliding. The Audi has awd thats why it has much traction on corner exits by drifting round those corners in a rwd car you probably would loose lots of time. Im not a rally expert but i have gained some knowledge over the years
+v2 Faytal Oh I forgot it was an awd. It would probably understeer a little if he wasn't powersliding round the corner then...and you can't really afford that on a such a tight road... maybe that's why ^^
Is it the same driver at long-wheel-base Quattro who drifting too much everytime at RallyLegend events? Because i saw similar unnecessary drifting here, big wasting of time. He have good skills, but this dirty drifting.. Well, of course it looks spectacular (for someone), but it's all about big-big time loss. More like poseur's style driving. This Quattro lost grip many times because of these too big & too much scandinavian flicks. Anyway, Harri Toivinen (in his white-purple Quattro at this 13th RallyLegend) showed very well how to drive this car correctly.
+RavesevenRavenholm exactly what I was thinking, no need to pull the handbrake on every turn. But I guess he was just having fun and not going for a fast time. Great footage, nonetheless
