In case you are saying the BMW won: the race works by starting a timer when your car moves (Reaction time) and stopping it when the car crosses the finish line. The R8 V10 driver had a 0.6 second reaction time, the M3 driver had a crazy reaction time of 0.094 seconds, but it took longer to cross the line.

Pretty sure many of you don't understand "DragtimesInfo" Their results {ARE NOT} based on who crosses the finish line first, but from Each Racers start & finish. If you replay the video you can see the M3 started before the R8, so his clocked time is already ticking meanwhile the R8's clocked time will start when he leaves the line. SO YES THE R8 DID WIN, BY LESS THAN A FENDER!

The race is about reaction times, and if you see the Audi is faster to 1/4 and 1 mile so the Audi won.

This is not a race to see who gets to the finish line first, it's a timed race to see who gets there in the least amount of time. They are technically not racing each other like in a drag race. One guy can take of right at the green light, another could take of 8 seconds later and still win the race. Keep watching these races and you will understand.

It's not a race to cross the line first, it's to see whose car is faster through the mile. This process eliminates driver fault and pits car against car rather than driver against driver.

the bmw start quarter second before , this drag race is calculated for each car so look at the laptime at the end

the way dragtimes work is as soon as you pass the white line the clock starts it's basically racing the clock not the car next to it

You could sit at the start line until the other car passes the finish line, then run your mile and if your time is faster, from the time you go to the time you pass that finish line, you win. That is how drag racing works.

For the 100th time, it's not about who crosses the finish line first. It's about time! ET=estamated time + RT= reaction time. At 4:04 you can clearly see that Audi R8 had better times in general.

@H1mynameisLarry The Mercedes has 700hp. It's not stock! It might be heavier, but what do you mean by it cost 70-80k? The R8 is miles away from 200k! And this is a tuned C63, if it were stock then yes, but it's tuned! And did a burnout to make up for it only having RWD (so Audi is mid-engined only advantage!).

What people don't seem to understand is that these are drag times for the car which means you have to factor out the human component aka reaction time. And damn Audi is so beast! Beating a lighter and stronger car! And btw the Porsche turbo s is like porche's fastest car out and it boasts one of the fastest 0-60 times

Look at the ET not the ET + RT. They subtract the reaction times so it makes it more accurate.

Its because the driver is really good..1.636 on the 60ft is extremely fast..and he only cross the line a 206kmh..car running this speed on a 1 4 mile are usually running 11 high or 12 low..

Am sure you guys can get a set of R888 up there. For the rear wheel drive guys get a damn set good and sticky on the track, unprepared surfaces and street. 18lbs good warm up and go...fill them back up and drive home. These guys with RWD cars are making every one who takes racing seriously look bad.

There's a 0.6 of a second difference in reaction time between the BMW and the Audi. Once that difference is cancelled out, the Audi has a faster time. That's how the competition is run.

If you read the text after it you'll see that R8 had better 1/4 and 1 mile time. Starting point is when car launches not the signal. Audi launched ~0.5 seconds after BMW.

Basically, the two cars are very close in performance. However, the Audi is slightly faster. The BMW only won because the driver had a slightly faster reaction time. The M3 driver reacted in .094 sec while the audi driver took 6/10ths of a sec to respond.
