As a former F-Type R owner I would take that over the R8. Had zero issues with mine over the years and I think it has alot more character than the R8. It is also a much better daily driver but if its going to be your weekend car the R8 is definetley not a bad option.
Not even close for me. R8.....the Jag is a nice car but no where near as special as the Audi...Im sure you knows this in your heart TBH. plus you're not 60 !
If it was an F type coupe R (with the full 550bhp) I’d definitely be keeping that as the coupe is so sexy. However I don’t like the look of the convertible so I would keep the R8.
I am keeping my r8 because it’s easier to fine another f type than a gated r8 soon you won’t fine them and it will go up in price because they don’t make them with manual anymore 😢
I think it has to come down to how much you use them. If you need a daily or long range cruiser, has to be the Jag. If you use it as a weekend toy, and just use it for a blast, the R8. I couldn't choose without lots of internal debate, but I'd have to go with the one that best suits how I use a car. Good luck 👍
Really I think the only reason to keep the R8 is if you really are sure you want a manual. I don’t think it has anything else on the f type. Sounds and looks can be argued either way but it’s slower, less reliable, has worse tech and I’d guess less comfortable. So brain says F type but follow your heart. Keep which you want most. Which you’re most happy with and look back at when you get out etc. i would sell the R8 but like you mention it’s not my or anyone else’s car so yeah pick whichever you love most
To me the R8 is just so much more special. If you can afford to keep it running well it seems like the obvious choice. It's a supercar, the gated manual with the mid mounted V8 that you can see in your rear view mirror is amazing and you'd have to spend double the money to get that experience anywhere else. The jag makes more sense if you're doing tons of mileage, but it's just so much less interesting. If it were me I'd keep the R8 and pick up a convertible again when I had the money. There are a lot of front engine/RWD roadsters out there, I bet you could get a similar experience for less money. EDIT: Oh and congrats on the house!
Sell both and get a combination of the two which is a Firesand Orange AWD Jaguar F-Type SVR Coupe! 😁👍 575hp, much sharper handling, mega V8 noise and also a great GT car!
Both are fantastic. Keep the Audi…..looks that bit more special. I also think jags are for older people, bit like mercs! May be a bit controversial….but I am a bit older😂
I never considered a 2 seater until I saw the FType. The FType takes on different personalities depending on how you configure it. This blue one is unique and is a keeper. My British Racing Green is arriving 10/18
I think AUDI R8 is way way better...it's sound ...it's power...it's manual Gearbox and it's looks and being able to see that stunning engine is incredible 😍
Hi Ben I saw you at Collecting Cars today at Bicester Heritage .I wanted to come over and say hi but you were surrounded by people . My name is Trevor and I’ve been a Sub for a few years and loved the Boxster and now R8 series. Anyway maybe next time I will make more effort to say hi . Keep up the good work on the channel mate 👍
Very difficult decision. If it was v10....I would definitely recommend the r8....im not a convertible person and the gated Transmission made me lean to the r8. That is a serious dilemma lol... which sold 1st? Betting r8
Such a tough choice ! I had the make the same and with the car being my daily…. I think you know which one I went with . The R8 is nice but the interior is definitely dated and quite frankly, the R8 would need some work due to its age
Keep the one you like more as long as you don't need luggage space...then neither. I have the F coupe...the coupe has space enough for one plus luggage....otherwise.....but the Jag is much better looking and sounding.
As someone who hopes to own multiple cars in the future, can I ask how you do your insurance? Do you have policies for each car or a broker who covers all your cars under one policy or anything?
Hi Ben, great video. I'm in a similar predicament, I've got a 60's mustang and a 80's 911. one needs to go as i want to go for a V8 R8 also, its hard to make a decision!
@@be1441 Just having a bit of fun with ya…Yer doing fine with that orange R8…You got me, I don’t own an R8 ;-0 If one was going to have a first world problem to deal with this isn’t a bad one to have. I do have an affinity for F-types… ;-0
At your younger age I would say keep the Audi and enjoy it. You can always buy an F type in a few years time. That way you get to have both cars in time and in the right order😎
