Could you maybe do a vid on what site you bid on, how you’d make a profit with the purchase, how to spot a good deal etc. , where you sell it for a profit 😊
Considering this vs a V8 R AWD. Whats the suspension like on bumpy roads (going fast or slow)? Are you able to use all/most of the power? I feel like 550HP on the R is nearly “too much” and I won’t be able to hear it rev that much before losing my license. Thoughts?
Check out one of my later videos where I bought a V8 S convertible. What a fantastic car! I’d say you can use all the power, but just be conscious. However if you’re getting AWD I wouldn’t worry. Mine was RWD and gripped pretty well
i reckon, if you can afford it, go for the Boxter. but the Z4 is a lot more home mechanic friendy, a lot of the maintenance will be easier to do at home.
LOL. Bouncing g around like a pogo stick demonstrates the quality of the suspension. Trying to justify the low cost and the handling (comparing a 15+ yrs old OE setup vs a new Coilover will always be an unfair comparison), by talking down the loss of suppleness is hardly high praise, Ben. Once the novelty and the excitement wears off (I assume this is your first dip into coilovers), you will come to realise that this is a 150 pounds worth of engineering for 300. As you grow with experience and you dip into well engineered products North of 1.5K you will look back at this and quitletoy nod to yourself at how silly this endorsement is.
@@be1441 While any system may fail for a host of reasons, it's difficult to say it's surprising in this case. Longevity aside, the performance ilwas always the questionable aspect. I have learned through experience that most coilovers will work on track within a margin, but on road and rough surfaces engineering a quality system is both difficult and pricey.
Very difficult decision. If it was v10....I would definitely recommend the r8....im not a convertible person and the gated Transmission made me lean to the r8. That is a serious dilemma lol... which sold 1st? Betting r8
I believe me and my money are going with the V10. There appears to be a proper manual coupe spec that looks like quite a dahling around the bends. Your video has provided me suitable material for said decision. Now what. say. you? 🧐 🐷 🐽
A couple users on R8Talk reviewed the EBC Yellow Pads as junk, and inferior to OEM, when being put through their paces on a track. That was over 13 years ago... Hope they've changed the formulation in that time.
Hi Ben, I bought the exact same car as yours except its a 2014. Everyone was telling me to get the manual. Im so glad i got the F/L STronic, it gives the supercar experience every time i drive and in the black with black wheels snd red calipers it causes a commotion everywhere I go. It looks like a 100k car and cost less than half that! I adore it and its going nowhere
Completely agree with you! The S-Tronic definitely makes the R8 feel more ‘supercar’. I’ve not mapped this one. I also may have forgotten to tell my insurance that my orange one was mapped 👀
Yea it is so nerve-racking driving it but such exhilaration at the same time. Have you been driving the track virtually between your trips or only in real life?
Good to see your content once again. Either you're making less content, or I'm not receiving notices for other content that you have posted. I hope you're doing well. You hit 174mph? Damn, well done. Wait, your not carrying any car insurance? Don't you think that's being very fatuous? You spend so much money keeping up your R8, not to mention what you paid for the car, and at any time, it will happen, someone will hit you out of the blue, or you miscalculate the road and total the R8. You lose that investment. Game over.
I bought one of the very last gen 1 R8s. The premium for the V10 at the time was over $50k USD. I went with the V8 and have loved it since the day she was delivered. The extra cost plus extra maintenance was not worth it to me. Your mileage may vary.
How many local miles do you get from a full tank? I'm in the process of buying my wife a A250 which gives 350 miles local to a £70 tank but really tempted for the A35 instead!
Watching this again in anticipation for the next euro tour, you done a great job encapsulating the entire thing Ben, top job. Hope to see you on the next one 👍🏻💪
I love everything about the C63, except the transmission. A C63 with a manual would be the best car ever made, but no, we just had to have some auto box.
Don't bother buying any stance product, if you needed to replace any parts of the suspension, you cant even buy replacement bottom bushes for the rear shocks,
