Change the oil every 5000-5500 miles 6000 max! Around 5k it starts to turn. Also u will have to top it up every 3 weeks or so with a quart if ur pushing hard. But it’s very important to keep the oil clean and fresh by changing around 5k bc it’s a turbo u don’t want old oil going thru them. Also always give it atleast a min before u turn it off to get fresh oil and coolant running thru the turbos. Longer if u were pushing hard and oil temps are high. Get the soft mod that lets u see oil temp and boost level. And if u were pushing hard on the trip the last couple miles u should drive super lightly so it starts lowering oil temp. And don’t set off straight away when u start the car give it chance to start to warm up and cycle the oil but the temp won’t get to optimal even after 10 mins of idling. It will only come up a little so it will start to thin but not enough. U have to drive lightly the first few miles and longer when it’s cold and longer when it’s below freezing. If its -20 red line goes down to 4000rpm or less. In the winter it revs lower until the car warms up and then it green lights u to the standard redline once it’s been warmed. Keep in mind even idle for 20 mins isn’t the same as driving. And the trans and trans fluid hasn’t warmed up. Always drive a few miles before u get on it. U will notice u can’t get into 8th gear until the car is ready. Once u get 8th gear all systems go.
I saved my money & bought a leased turn in with just 20k miles on it. That allowed me to modify the A8 4LT into my own S8 Quatro. I had APR install the S7 cams & intake with 10mm larger turbos along with a custom made SS straight flow exhaust system. APR stage 4 tune on the turbo system with larger intercoolers installed. She rips with 720 dyno wheel HP to the ground. Base model Corvettes don't like me at the red lights. Its fun being old.
Thanks mate, I know theres always people who will find this topic boring and "irrelevant" but we try and cover all parts of a long-term review on DST! 👍🏽
Stunning Car..would definitely swap your M4 for the S8...just tell your Uncle it would make economical sense for him to be driving the M4..that way you get your V8 wish and get to drive the brutal S8..great video 👍🤛🤛🤛
I currently have a low mileage Corvette C5 that's been modified a fair bit. As much as I love that car I'm looking at getting something more practical with 4 seats but don't want to trade the performance I get from the vette. Seriously looking at one of these and "running costs" would be slightly cheaper/same. It's the maintenance if anything were to break would worry me, still tempted though
A very informative video it was indeed. It's what I would expect from you in content wise. 😁👍🏻 I think you should take this v8 monster from your uncle. He would be pleased taking the M4. Hahaha 🤣😂🤣👍🏻
For a few extra £, given the exclusivity & rarity of the S8 (not to mention the power), I'd take it over the M4 every day. Think of it as getting Ferrari/Lamborghini performance for much less than what you'd pay if you owned an Italian exotic.
I have also the same s8 but in white and no tuned i changed my breaks this year and i paid 3000 Euro (Front breaks and back) and they wasnt even Keramic breaks.
