Soon be a distant memory when they all receive the new AC traction motors. The first full unit is due back to us from Derby at some point in January for further dynamic testing before entering passenger service! The rest of the fleet will follow suit!

@@Nice_Person7379 The appearance externally will remain the same, but there will be differences internally and all new motors so yeah, sadly the washing machine sound will be gone.

The interior will be upgraded with PIDs, and u can still enjoy that washing machine until 2024ish

Enjoy them whilst you can, they’ll sadly be gone when the stock is overhauled.

The central Line is my local line and it sounds great, but the 96 stock motors by Alstom is way better

@@Great_WesternTVFan The first train has already received the new AC motors and is currently undergoing dynamic testing. It will then come back to us in January for further testing before entering passenger service... So I don’t know where you go your information from?

@@B9TL205 I wasn’t referring to the replacement, I’m talking about the big overhaul the ‘92 stock is currently undergoing as part of the “CLIP” (Central Line Improvement Project)

I should soon make a visit to London to film, witness and hear the classic motors before they get taken down for a minor refurbishment. I'm going to miss them when they get removed.

It is just me, or the '92 stock is the only London underground EMU, that has the Cardan drive motors. It sounds so great though
