Hecks yeah! I’m assuming I could then record MIDI on an instrument track using the chord track features? I would want to save the chords, progressions etc.
@@PuRe_AdDicT The only problem is respecting the inversion when substituting the notes on a bass phrase. It always changes to the root note of the chord. I'm not seeing how logical editor would change that but I'll give it a look.
Cubase had tempo detection for a while now but it's a separate process. You would have to do both tempo detection and chords separate but it is possible.
What a great feature! But what would amaze me if we could actually change the Chords of the song on the fly! For that maybe Steinberg have to collaborate with Melodyne... Or even better with Zynaptiq
Hi Dom. This is Orrin again. I watched your video on “Audio to MIDI” again. It amazes me every time i watch it. Thank you for making this video. I still would like to know the best way to get your recording that you would like to have analyzed into Cubase and is it also possible to have your chords printed out with the same rhythm of the original recording? Have a wonderful day? If you could make another video on this topic explaining my request, I would appreciate it very much.
Hey Dom, Thanks for the tutorials. I am having trouble with the Audio to Midi. I followed the steps you showed, create an audio track, open the file on that track, then create a chord track. The problem I am having is that it won't allow me to drag the audio track into the chord track. Any suggestions? I will appreciate it.
Hi. This was a greet video Dom. I have one question. Will I be able to get the printed score of a song that I want analyzed? If so will you make a video showing how to print out the various scores or parts of the instruments that you want in a song?
Very, very fine. Thanks so mutch! Which Version can do this? My Cubase Elements 12 can't this! Can everyone help me? Thanks and musigian greetinges Peter Bengelmann
Hi Dom . I would like to know how you even got the recording of the song you wanted to analyzed in to a track of Cubase. So would you please explain the best way on how you get a recording into Cubase, so it can be analyzed. I really would like to learn how use this feature of Cubase. There are some gospel songs that I would like to analyze for my future use.
Their is one flaw to the programing of this, is when you load a song it wont do everything. Let me give an example. I loaded a symphonic metal song, The intro to the song was pure orchestration, and so cubase reads that and it put in the chords to all the orchestral parts of the song, but when it was just the heavy guitars it wouldn't read those chords but when the chorus happened and orchestrations was prominent it read those chords. I think the way this works is it limits to the linear path it initially starts reading and stays within that frame until the song ends. I guess my tip for the programmers in future updates would be to take that into consideration and try and build it so it is capable of reading multiple types of sections within a song. Orchestration and then band type instruments, guitars and bass ect. I could be wrong about this and i just had one flub. Other then that i've been wanting this for so many years. Great Job.
This and the SA in VA will save me quite a bit of time. Just record my acoustic and then drop it in the Chord Track, then fix my dodgy vocals based on the CT
That's pretty great, but does it also work for MIDI? In Studio One I can drag a MIDI clip into chord track and key & scale are recognised. I'd love that! :o
@@tekknovator Yes, but in 11 you couldn't drag & drop the clip to create chord symbols (you can now in v12), but it still only works for chords, not for melodies / riffs :(
@@Artek604 In the MIDI Editor the Scale Assistant can suggest scales based on the data. I know it's not exactly what you asked for, but it's the next best thing.
@@RudalPL That's not what I'm asking though. In v11 you can't drag & drop a MIDI clip to chord track to extract key & scale. Apparently in v12 that's possible (according to user manual, I'm still stuck at upgrade process...), but probably still doesn't work with melodic sequences but only with actual chords. Studio One is much smarter there (and not only there).
please Dom can you explain how to convert chord track to midi in cubase12 (all chords at once)...tried ,,chords to midi,, but its not working..nothing happens, i can only drag one by one chord events...regards
Well I tried it this morning on an audio track of a synth witch contain a kind of gate effect included in the file. The tonality is clearly recognisable and it is quiet disapointing to my experience. Could you give some more advice about it please.
@@MOTIFXF6420 Naaa ok of course it was an audio track of the synth not a synth directly but indeed I've not been clear enough, thank you, i modified it👍
Thanks for the awesome tutorial again, when I drag my audio, a rhythm guitar track, only a section of it is getting rendered, eg: only a few chords in the beginning of the track, or in random positions, but not the entire track?
Still dont know how to use all that Chord track stuff. I have tried many times and never seem to get anywhere with it. I thick Cubase has lost me. So many features I dont know how to use and an equal amount of features I dont know exist. For a newcomer I honestly dont know how they could manage as the software is so huge. Dont get me wrong, its amazing software, its just became really huge these days. Mind you Logic is also huge and many of its featuires are so cmplicated and very often hidden
