According to Ronnie Wood, his roommate (Jimi Hendrix) gave him a Beagle and they became pals. One day members of the fledgling band assembled and the dog was present. At one point the dog “stress-yawned” and his enormous and shapely tongue emerged. The lads saw it as a hilarious sight-gag and used it as basis for their logo. They still have dogs.
Logo was designed 8 years after the band formed.. Drawn up by art student John pasche and inspired by the mouth of the Hindu goddess kali as suggested by mick jagger who commissioned it..
This doggo looks to be part Dachshund? We had a purebred Dachsie while I was growing up and when my Mom came home from work every night, he would sit up and start howling. Sometimes it sounded like he was singing “helllllooooo” to her. It was something to see. He was a one in a million kind of dog and maybe that is how Mick feels about his pooch here. At least he has a pet that seems to enjoy his signing or vocal practices. I enjoyed watching this! 😁
We all sing when Mick sings.......even our furry friends....He cute!.....gotta go!!.....i ve got an arrangement to meet a girl.....dont wanna be late. You know how those truck drivers can be sometimes.....mmmmmmmmmuah!!.....Mick n the Stones forever.....
When I was a kid I had a dog who would go mad every time We played Delilah by Tom Jones. He would throw his head back and howl really loud. Also if you had bubble gum he would jump on top of you and start howling in your face. Needles to say as kids we played a lot of Tom Jones and blow lots of bubble gum. It really annoyed our mother. But we couldn’t stop laughing.
Thanks Mick! The last time I saw you was at the Oracle theater the day after my dad died in 2013 Oakland, first time was 1978 Anaheim Stadium both nights. You guys or a perpetual inspiration to me. Take it from an Oboist and a guitarist who turned pages at 8 years old for his concert pianist father that taught harmony and counterpoint at Yale University as a student because his professor was never there… Paul Hindemith.
