The Rolling Stones have so many hits...but if you're looking for the real pearls, you gotta dive a bit deeper in their records. Songs like Worried about you, Winter, Heartbreaker, Til the next goodbye etc. are timeless masterpieces. And this one really makes my day.

Seeing them perform live is so uplifting. I have seen them live 6 times and am floating on a cloud after each show. Whether or not you like him, you've got to give Keith credit for maintaining such a steady rhythm, even under the influence of so many drugs and drink. This promo video is a testament to how strung-out he was during that time, and unlike many of his rockstar contemporaries, he stuck it out and actually kept it all together AND sounding great. Keith's one in a zillion, so admire him and love him, but don't ever make the mistake of trying to be like him!

Don't exaggerate with all these ' drugs' , yes occasionally he used diacetylmorphine, cocaine HCl is like a cappuccino or cigarette, but in late 76 he had a car accident on M? In 1975, when this song was actually recorded (during the 'Black and Blue' sessions), Wayne Perkins was the potential replacement that sounded most like Mick Taylor. The other Wayne Perkins lead guitar masterpiece is 'Hand of Fate'. I was hoping to see and hear Mick Taylor play the lead on 'Hand of Fate' when Taylor rejoined the Rolling Stones for the 2013/2014 tour, but this did not happen.

Nah... It's the same shriveled, pickled, ulcerative liver he's always had since the mid-sixties. Most people don't know that at some point in 1965 or 66 I believe it was, Keith was electrocuted by a hot microphone. That essentially hyper charged aspects of his neurobiology and caused genetic alterations. He had a mutation in his DNA. The gene sequence which codes for repair proteins and brain derived neurotrophic growth factor was mutated in such a way that the production of those factors is accelerated during periods of high adrenaline and other excitatory neurotransmitters as well as endorphins. This is why he never retired. He needs that to survive and repair his cells. It took him years to understand why he could dance with Mr. D at such a high level. The booze and pills and powders were needed to level out the excitatory neurotransmission. He shared this secret with the rest of the Stones hence why they continue playing.

He’s been lucky perhaps a gene mutation protects him. David Bowie paid for his excess drugs with liver cancer same as Mick Ronson with Lou Reed also dying of liver failure.
