thank you for this really great and interesting video of Audrey. "I want the world to know that the largest part of humanity is suffering" - never thought of that. I believe that Audrey could hardly tolerate that - she truly cared
PR from the studio model they had to want it for years to be in films acting as a profession has as many narcissists as CEOs demure was sexy back then she was among the worst privately
@@KarineAlourde all women should be told they are beautiful. I'm having trouble with the whatsapp, but I will figure it out...I saw your other channel...nice to see a brilliant, successful woman making her own way...keep it up ! @]->->->->->->->-------
@@soph5669 always have to throw the the salt in somebody's eyes can't you just shut up! if she did which she did not. I hate to say it but she wouldn't have been the first and certainly not the last. So did Camila with Charlie Boy, the now🤴King of England and destroyed beautiful lady Diana who went to the mistress and told her to stop, it didn't do any good, that's an example. Every dress every gown that A.H wore I copied. I sewed back in the day was able to copy her fashion, even her hairstyles. I even wore my pearls backwards and copy the dress she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany's, also her hairstyle in My Fair Lady. 🩰She was Tre Chic👗👠👏
@@jeanpalumbo3411welcome to the comment section where you can say what you like , so you shut up , at least I’m not a self proclaimed copycat to something I see in a movie 😂 that’s hilarious
The amount of beautiful woman and handsome men throughout history that didn't find themselves attractive is always so interesting to hear. Hepburn, Monroe, Megan Fox, (Gene) Tierney, etc all found flaws in their beauty but they're so goegrous and many woman can only dream to look like them. Makes me realize that beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder and beauty standards can make even the most attractive peoole feel ugly 😔
@@jacktorrance9688 She’s pretty but compare to other starlets of her time she’s not the prettiest but I must say I find her attractive. The way she carries herself, her persona vs who she really was, her eyes and her smile are attractive to me. I think that’s why people reference her so much not necessarily her beauty but her sensuality.
@@jacktorrance9688 She exuded carnal pleasure. Thst along with her public relations team are what caused her to be regarded a a great beauty. The same is what attributed to Eartha Kitt being regarded as a great beauty. In and of itself, Eartha, like Marilyn, was no great beauty.
Remember, Hollywood cherry picks the most vulnerable, unloved, mentally & emotionally unprotected people. For them, these people are easier to manipulate & to mould. They give them major makeovers externally. No internal work- if they helped these people to ‘heal’ most of these people would ‘run a mile’- as their sanity, moral code and boundaries would protect them and show clearly the red flags. So, know that, these people you speak off, had emotional and mental stuff that needed to be attended to.
Girl I finally watched Breakfast at Tiffany's back in March. The first time. I can't believe I went my whole life without it. I LOOOVVEEEDD IT!!! she's unforgettable.
You crazyyy 🙄🤣🤣 finally you saw it. Of course you love it, i saw that movie more than 5 times, always get teary at the end. The songs the clothes all ♥️
Kerima Nasilasila, then you must see Ms. Hepburn play a more dramatic role as a blind woman in "Wait Until Dark," if not already. She tore that role to shreds!
I'm surprised you re did Audrey Hepburn but glad you took a more in depth look at her! I feel like - to my knowledge- she was the first celebrity influencer to rep a fashion brand and help it become mainstream. Givenchy wouldn't be as big and iconic without Hepburn and many of Hepburn's iconic looks wouldn't be made with Givenchy. Made sense why they had a lifeling friendship. Also waiting for that JFK breakdown cause this man really was lurking EVERYWHERE. PS: My first video I saw of yours was an Audrey Hepburn breakdown!
As it's very well knowen, there were lots of different kind of celebrities, that was just throwen up for a while, than quickly forgotten by the media & the paparazzy! Could it be,thosehm - hm certain nameless women, were playing hide &seek with producers / directors / lawyers /or rich fiances, than when things went well, they just dropped them??Oh, let's say Taylors, zsazsa's. . . etc. They, they were goal diggers & con artists! not Audrey Hepburn!!
Audrey's height was 5'6 3/4". She was too tall for ballet not too short. 5'7" is typically the height limit for ballet. Ballerinas are small and thin. She talked about it in the interview with Barbara Walters.
True. It makes it difficult when doing pas de deux. The lines and turns make it difficult to complete and the taller girls in the corps would often have to be at the ends and that doesn't make it easy to be noticed by companies for jobs. Not to mention for some girls who are taller, their feet are bigger so they would have to special order their shoes which is expensive because ballerinas go through those shoes very very fast. With practice, rehearsals and performances, they're lucky if their shoes last a week or two. That's why most companies prefer shorter girls.
@@legendary2553 Just because it's the limit doesn't mean companies will accept that limit unless the dancer is truly gifted. They tend to want to have 5'0-5'4". I personally am glad that Audrey was 5'7" because that meant that she wouldn't be lost in the crowd of ballerinas in the back and instead she would be where she is, a shining star front and center. 💖
Please do Angela Lansbury! I only knew her from murder she wrote but I seen today that she used to be a movie star back in the day. She was so beautiful!
@@Likelyfairy I knew about Beauty and the beast but I didn't know anything about her earlier career until they were looking back on her accomplishments after she died. She was so gorgeous! Aging sucks😂
Her mother ran down her looks constantly. Very cruel and sad. She was thin because during her growth years, she was starving to death because there was no food where she lived because of WW2
JFK was a womanizer , even men hated him because he was such an evil person. He tortured his wife mentally , he would sleep with other woman while she is in the next room simply ignoring her presence but Jacqueline never thought of leaving him because of his position and her being first lady ,she knew if she try to expose him , she will end up dead too.He would play with emotions of other woman while making them to dream of a future together but when a woman became too clingy ,he would just dump them , banish them or ask the Mexican mafias to take care of them , no offense to the dead but he and his brother was real bastards .
Everyone said he killed Marilyn. Now I believe it, I didn’t know he got around in Hollywood like that. King Charles would cheat on Queen Elizabeth with actresses as well. I stand by Kayne when he said “ Then industry is just a huge brothel.” I stand by what I said a while back that it’s a calling and yes it’s here to lure us into the dark world. The entertainment industry is 2nd to the government.
She was depresed after 2 miscarges. She was campining for him pregnant with Arebela in hot condition .he lost his vice president post in a rage he left for 3 weeks vacation in ocean in Italy.she went to her moms home she suffred hemorrage Arebela still born died.He was uncontable wait for him to arrive main land. She had enough she wanted to leave him.Father in law brainwased catholic women divorced no good for her.he said he buy trust funds if after 10 years if she didnt have children she can take the funds or if has children will go to them.
wow you speak with such authority that you must have had first hand knowledge about the man, I think this stuff about JFK is finally reaching a breaking point, to some he's the perfect president and to the others he's the devil himself. I mean there's no balanced view of the man out there. I personally think that yes he had affairs but its become an industry to dump everything on JFK afterall he's DEAD its not like he's going to sue somebody for writing these things about him
Thank you for uploading this!...and for the more in-depth look into her story. It's nice to be reminded that celebrities and icons such as her are just as imperfect and human as the rest of us. Just two things: 5'7" was considered TALL for a ballerina, not short, since the dancers would be even taller en pointe! And please be careful with the Nazi innuendo, as she was a child when the war started, and as such was not responsible for her parents' associations.
Audrey was beautiful, and she was a great actress. She said her favorite role was Sister Luke in "The Nun's Story." I love that movie. In fact, I have seen it dozens of time. Actually, the real Sister Luke took care of her when she was ill. RIH Ms. Hepburn.
No, Portman's personality is repulsive while Audrey's likable. Maybe some similarities in the face but seriously, not a fit comparison. Portman lacks class and charisma.
I don't understand why she had to die so young. She was making this world a better place and helping this planet. She had so much empathy that it hurt that she died at 63.
Hepburn went to a British boarding school for a while, before the war. Her father never visited her there, even though he lived in England. He promoted Nazism in England, including fascist parades to convince the British to ally with Hitler. When the war started, he was imprisoned and spent the war there. The story of her trip to visit him in the 60s is so sad. There she was, a beautiful and world-famous actress and fashion icon, and all she wanted from her father was some recognition and connection. Instead, he was cold and selfish.
Everything was excellent in this documentary. Just wished that you would have mentioned her performance in "Two for the Road" made in 1967. It starred Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney. It's one of my personal favourite Audrey Hepburn movies. I loved the chemistry between Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney.
Breakfast at Tiffany's is one of my all-time favorite love stories in a movie. I still cry to this day when watching certain scenes in it. In fact, I love the movie so much that I purchased it several years ago, as well as "Wait Until Dark," another superb movie (suspense genre). The iconic and legendary Ms. Hepburn made wearing short, precision cut hair and flats chic and fab. She was very compassionate toward all mankind, a great humanitarian. Shout out to the beautiful, iconic & legendary Whitney Houston for mastering Ms. Hepburn's classic look in her "I'm Your Baby Tonight" vid.
I'm glad you mentioned Audrey's UNICEF work. The woman showed beauty from the inside. FYI: "Merle" (as in "Merle Oberon") is one syllable that rhymes with "girl."
As a History major, this is the one channel I come to on RU-vid with such excitement and expectation and I must say, I have never been disappointed. You are hardworking and intelligent. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 😊
I sometimes look for movies staring Audrey Hepburn, on the TCM cable channel. I'm 58yrs Old. Prior to Comcast cable etc. Early on The T.V. with antenna, was only a few channels. The now Turner Classic network was primarily what was on 1 of a few channels.
It seems her lack of opportunity to train during the war years also made the likelihood of attaining prima ballerina status very remote. She didn’t let this setback destroy her though. What amazing self discipline and focus she had in achieving her goals or moving on to new ones if they became unattainable!
Make a video about JFK!! If not, just about his affairs pls 🥺✨💜 his affairs should be its own video actually… since we don’t have all day I suppose 💀😂👏🏽
I loved her ! Her class and I love Breakfast at Tiffany’s and when you get a chance listen to Moon River by Andy Williams. It is a beautiful song. Wink
You are sooooo thorough in your research! I did not know Hepburn suffered hunger during the Nazi occupation. Apparently nettles aren’t the nutrition powerhouse they are touted to be. Makes your videos extraordinarily interesting.
In 1967, we went to see a double bill, mainly to see BLOW UP. The other film was the lightly publicized, TWO FOR THE ROAD with Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney, We were totally enchanted by it. One of my favorite films that I never tire of watching. The chronological cuts jump back-and-forth in a bittersweet relationship and marriage, make it an artistic treasure. If you've never seen it, see it. If you've seen it, see it again. It's more than worth the journey.
@@laurieditchburn823 The screenwriter, Frederic Raphael, published the script. I just looked it up---$233.00!!! I guess that makes Two for the Road a cult classic. Bookfinder has a copy for $30.
@@romanclay1913 Thanks so much for sharing this. It's such a wonderful script. I was so caught up with Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney's charming portrayals of Joanna and Mark and Henry Mancini's great musical score that I failed to acknowledge this fine screenplay written by Frederic Raphael. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and the cost of what it would be to obtain a copy of the script. Much appreciated. And thanks again!
@@laurieditchburn823 The book has a 30 page essay by Frederic Raphael which ends, "...I fear that you will look in vain on the printed page for the magic and vitality which Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney brought to the playing of Joanna and Mark."
Audrey was a classic beauty and she chose roles of complex women. Regarding JFK, to his credit, he did tell Jackie about his proclivities towards multiple flings and non-monogamy before they got married giving her a choice to accept him as is or move on with her life.
The last movie I remember seeing her in was Always with Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter. She was only in it for a few scenes but still made such an impact in that movie. It's hard to imagine that she doesn't make an impact in a movie she's in. My favorites would be Sabrina, Roman Holiday and My Fair Lady. Wait Until Dark is an incredible movie as well. She was fantastic in it. It's such a great thriller movie. 😎👍
I love her more than Marilyn Monroe. She was classy and glamorous. Her character roles were clever and understated. Given you linterdt is one my favorites perfumes.
Audrey Hepburn was an exact contemporary of my mum they passed away days apart and keeping things short she's been gone a long time my amazing Dad adored her and the one thing people did not get was their sense of humour, Tx for you channel!!!
It seems to me like the most elegant and beautiful women are always around 5'7. Audrey Hepburn, Keira Knightley, Kate Beckinsale, Emily Blunt, Grace Kelly and Anne Hathaway to name a few.
Growing up in the 70’s Audrey Hepburn was one of my fave actress…Breakfast At Tiffany was my fave movie. Audrey was known for her button down white shirt and jeans, that was how I dressed back in the day, it was stylish and classic. Audrey was iconic for her stylish fashion. Thanks for sharing sis, loved it. If you haven’t done Betty Davis I’d love for you to do it…
I have always loved and will love Audrey Hepburn and have seen all her movies.. She's so amazing to me, to this day I dress like her because I too am the same shape as her. She made me realize that having a big butt or breast doesn't make me feminine and sensual. Hubert Givenchy is one of my favourite designers and I mainly use givenchy make-up. I'm also anemic. I LOVE YOU AUDREY HEPBURN!!! PS I too eat a little chocolate after dinner and drink plenty of water.
I remember the first time I saw Audrey Hepburn, it was a random day at the library (in middle school) looking for movies to watch for the weekend and came across "Breakfast at Tiffanys" and watched it and fell in love. She reminded me of my father's mom(she was born in 1914). We have the same name which was inspired by her and I truly love everything about career and fashion. Her philanthropy is truly inspiring as well. Forever one of my top favorite Starlets!
I wanted to see more of the fashion icon and how she took the menswear and made it feminine. As well as the start of the crisp white dress shirt. Timeless….. I love me some her, she had a natural flare.❤
I have yet to see Breakfast At Tiffany's, but from what I heard, Audrey is the best reason to watch it...I saw her in My fair Lady...She can sing, so I never understood why Audrey's singing parts were dubbed...Audrey Hepburn is the epitome of the classy woman...A lady in the streets, a freak in the sack...She worked for the French Resistance in World War 2 against the Nazi's and she spent Much of her Life involved in Charity work...If I ever got married, my ideal wife would be a lot like Audrey....The French Actress Audrey Tatou ( Amelie, Venus Beauty Institute ) is a dead ringer for Audrey Hepburn...Audrey was a class act....
What you waiting for?? 🙄Thats my favorite movie I see that movie more than 5 times♥️ It was Free on youtube. AND I see alot of Audrey Tatou, love french movies
@@DiamondPR I read the book. It's darker...I like Charade with Cary Grant. It was a cool movie...I love French Movies. I went to Paris in 2002. One day I'll make it back. Been getting more into Italian and Indian culture...I read a lot. Fiction and Poetry....
Thank you for making this fantastic video about my favourite actress ever. nobody will never attain her beauty, style, acting skills and her personality. These days we’ve got actresses with so much Botox or after facelift that they act without expression. And also good scenario writers.I can’t recall any recent movie which I was fascinated.I give this video 10 out of 10, your editing and the whole story is done perfectly❤
I love your break downs but I’m surprised you haven’t done a break down about Raquel Welch. I would love for you to do one for Raquel Welch. Love your channel ❤
I love the 40s and 50s Era of fashion also. I've never seen Breakfast at Tiffany's. Been meaning to check it out. Audrey Hepburn was so beautiful. I think she was the one who made wearing men's trousers or pants popular and they looked so beautiful on her frame.
