The brilliance of this show , is perfectly portrayed in this scene,...the banter , the humour and grittiness and interaction of the characters was what made auf wiedersehen pet ...the finest and funniest comedy/drama to ever be on tellys

I was introduced to this program by my Grandad. With me liking Tim Healy’s son’s band 😂 (The 1975) The only way my Grandad would know the band is if I said to him ‘it’s Tim Healy’s son! And he would respond with ‘oooo aye’ and he’d talk about this program. My Grandad very sadly passed away unexpectedly a week ago on Sunday. But I know I’ll keep these little conversations with me ❤
The humour of this show was fantastic but it was the casting that made it legendary. Every character was superbly played. I could watch it time and time again.

I agree. I know most people prefer the first series, but i f irzt saw this in the mjd 80's when i was about 6. Had it on video etc for years and watched dozens of times, most recently last week. For me the second series is by far the best.
I loved Wayne’s reply when they were in that really quiet Spanish bar and Moxy informs the lads he knew someone who committed suicide on a Tuesday and Wayne just says ‘been in here had he?’ Absolutely hilarious
Auf Wiedersehen Pet. I could not imagine my childhood growing up without this tv show. Me and my dad did not miss one episode. This was one my favourites. I loved this scene they are all together with exception of barry of course, deciding who was who in the magnificent 7 from the movie.
One of my very favourite scenes from my all time favourite telly show. Love this discussion about them being the magnificent seven. Wayne "I'll be Horst Bucholtz coz he was the youngest and best looking" 😀 then remembers Steve McQueen when Nev nabs it 🤣 "oh hold on I forgot about him!" Oz: "naw piss off -you chose the kraut so you're stuck with him" 😄😁 Best programme ever. Classic.
I think we all love these guys because we watched this with out dads as kids and it brings us good memory's for happy childhood times, my dad's not with us, anymore but he loved watching these guys
The camera work and editing, are least four cameras working at the same time, one on oz and Dennis, one on bomber, one on moxy, and one on Wayne and Neville. Can’t all have been there so must’ve been individual shots with editing. Brilliantly done with brilliant acting

Christ Kevin Whately looks about 17 there! This is such a good programme, the writers got it spot on about guys interaction when working together like that. Great camaraderie & I’m sure it was genuine. I need to buy that box set! 👍

I was 13 when this was out so a bit too young. I remember pestering my parents if I could watch it one night. Opening scene was the one in the German strip club. Channel immediately changed over

Yes, it was at Trowell Services southbound on the M1 outside Nottingham. It was a Granada services at the time, so it's a Moto services now. The upstairs café overlooking the M1 has long gone (converted to offices) with all dining facilities (Burger King, Greggs and Costa) all at ground floor level now.
Butch 78 Yes, Oz had the manners of a drunken pig, but the reason the rest of the lads didn't care is because they weren't exactly high brow either. All part of their charm.
Could never understand why these producers try and use actors with the worse take on a scouse accent I’ve ever heard it’s cringeworthy why not use a proper scouser
Dunno why you thtthat. I'm Scouse and back in the 80s when AWP was on I thought all along that Chris Fairbank was a Scouser. It was only after Pet finished and I saw him in other things from about 1986 onwards that I realised he wasn't.
Talk about chemistry. The best cast ever assembled in any TV show ever. Every one was a strong character. Great writing, funny before the PC brigade got a foot hold. The very best.
