@@ivahardy4885 lmao. Also his boss closed one eye when shooting ... the real sign that he has never shot or doesn't know how to . With a shotgun you keep both eyes open as they use each other to estimate distance.
Yeah, shame the sound designer didn't bother recording the sound of a shotgun outdoors in the countryside and just used a generic urban concrete gunshot each time.. Anyone who's lived in the countryside and has heard shotgun shooting for pheasants knows it doesn't sound like that! 😂
Oz is a classic character from a building site, characters like Oz don't become bricklayers, it's the job that turns you into one. It is 2021 and we still have to fight to get paid. Thanks for posting this brilliant scene.
Loved the way Bomber always talked about himself in the third person. Remember seeing him in his pro wrestling days as well. Mountain of a man but a complete gentleman.
This is how the orignal Oz would have handled it. Oz. "Eh? Eh? Hey you! What's happenin like? Guy with shotgun. Err, hello Oz. Oz. "Never mind aboot bloody hello Oz, mun". What's happening aboot the bloody deal like!! Yanah"! Guy with shotgun. "Err, umm, well its difficult". Oz. "Bloody difficult is it!! :::: Smack::: now That's what yacall difficult like!! I divant like being pissed aboot by tha likes of you!! Nah sort it oot like!! "Or I'll be back tah give ya like more of where that came from gottit"!!
Bless. He'd have been told the same thing he was told in this scene: the deal's off. And no amount of swearing or threats is going to change that. Well done, Brexiters! 🤣
@@60RickRock Kind of. He developed the idea with Ian La Frenais, of Auf., and it was La Frenais who wrote the pilot, from which the show was then commissioned. Jimmy tried to write the actual series himself, but struggled so much that he ended up moving to the US while Ian was out there, so they could both work on it.
Would've been nice to see what the second series was meant to look like too, without the 'dodgy lookalike in the background', and "Wayne's just parking the van" "Wayne's nipped out for some ciggies" hastily reworked scenes.
@@Paddy.C that was better than 'Waynes just fucked everything up by being a selfish fucker and filling his system up with drugs and dying on us halfway through filming this series!'
The directors. Apparently by the second series Jimmy was sticking his nose into camera set-ups, scene arrangement etc, and was told in no uncertain terms to keep his beak out. It wasn't until 'Spender' and 'Crocodile Shoes' that he started being listened to.
Before series 3 of Auf Wiedersehen Pet was made Jimmy Nail & Bill Nighy starred in the movie Still Crazy & there was a scene at the end where they performed a song called The Flame Still Burns.
Yes, great, I'm a Geordie, from Wallsend, born and bred. We don't take any shit from nobody here, hit first then worry later! That is the Wallsend motto!
Oz was the Cain Dingle of Aufweidersehen Pet. The old Oz was like the old Cain and the new Oz was like the new Cain. The hardman you didn't mess with but looked out for his mates.
A huge gag was missed here when Jimmy shot the gun at the air, it would have been funny as hell to have had one or even two birds drop to the ground. The toff was trying and failing to shoot the birds, so oz not even trying and scoring a hit would have been good.
I always liked big Pat and his cornish accent. One of his sayings when he spent all his wages gambling was . Bomber is broke ,daft as a brush with money ,always was ,always will be . Auf wiedersehn Pat.
@James Cricket aye, sorry, you're probably right. 'Auf Wiedersehen Pet', although partially a comedy, was also a drama that touched on real issues and though it wasn't quite, 'Boys from the Blackstuff', it was by no means a slapstick comedy. Also, that joke would have been too cliched anyway. Apologies.
Sadly the real oz from series 1&2 had disappeared and was replaced by one who literally wasn't the same character and also had elocution lessons For whatever reason Jimmy nail couldn't do the real oz , I would love to know why , no way would oz wear those clothes
This was pretty much the last series of Aufeidersane Pet. Definitely not worth watching, compared to the original and brilliant series. This last series was actually proof that you shouldn't meddle with perfection. Fuck knows what the writer's were thinking of 🙄
Front line worker here, never furloughed no pay rise just claps. Lets open freeports where there's no corporation tax or need to pay into the NI system, that'll get the country back on its feet.
