P.s, I also was really disappointed by Birman Wood. The characters were so unlikeable and yeah, the plot being slow moving…I just couldn’t bring myself to finish it. I have the Luminaries, I’ll give it a go, but after Birnam Wood I’m not too optimistic. Claire Keegan seems to be recommended everywhere, so I’m going to give her a go. I’ve not read many Irish authors actually, nor stories set in Ireland, so that would be interesting.
