I'm Mi'kmaq First Nations and listened to the singing and drumming while going through the comments and honestly I was driven to tears seeing how many people across the world appreciating, understanding, and respecting my peoples ways. Thank all of you in the comments for your kind words from the bottom of my heart.
I crank up Pow Wow tunes daily in my lifted truck in the city. Windows down. Let these mofos know there's a strong successful native coming down the street...

Columbus Himself According to renowned American historian and linguist Leo Weiner of Harvard University, one of the strongest pieces of evidence to support the fact that Black people sailed to America before Christopher Columbus was a journal entry from Columbus himself. In Weiner’s book, “Africa and the Discovery of America,” he explains that Columbus noted in his journal that the Native Americans confirmed “black skinned people had come from the south-east in boats, trading in gold-tipped spears. The Accounts of Other European Explorers Christopher Columbus wasn’t the only European explorer who made note of an African presence in the Americas upon his arrival. The accounts match up with the reports from the natives in Mexico. Nicholas Leon, an eminent Mexican authority, recorded the oral traditions of his people and ultimately kept track of a key piece of evidence that Black people made it to the New World far before their European counterparts. His reports revealed accounts from natives saying “the oldest inhabitants of Mexico WERE BLACKS. Polish professor Andrzej Wiercinski revealed the discovery of African skulls at Olmec sites in Tlatilco, Cerro de las Mesas and Monte Alban. Even more ancient African skeletons that would clearly predate Columbus’ arrival in the Americas were discovered throughout Central America and South America with some even being unearthed in what is now California.
@@DTk5584 No, watch Dane Calloway he will tell books that you can buy for yourself like I did just as he read from them, also do more research on your own don't take anyone word for it get the digging, anytime someone says something research it for yourself. We are a mixture of Indigenous Americans descendants and some of us are the Egyptian descendants that came from Africa we both were here before Columbus and his clowns lol
Every time youtube pops this up for me, tears start forming. The purity and primalness in this reminds me of the connection we all have with nature and in the end with each other. Different culture from my own, but the roots still so very similar to the old norse culture.
I come from northern Germany, descendant of the North Sea Germans who were related to the Vikings. I don't know exactly why, but this Song filled my heart with pride and joy. Respect and greetings from northern Germany.
This is good, we are All leaves upon Yggdrasil, we are all related. Check out "Helvegan" "Gra" and "Kvitravn" by Wardruna, to name a few songs that will open the door to our Ancestors even wider. Also "What Happened To The Tribes of Europe" By John Trudell, a Santee Dakota Elder I'm Mestizo (Mexican/American Indian mixed with European) myself, Nat'aahendé Band Mescalero Apache and Avripia Apache, House of Agregaard of Dains, House of Christovic of Croatian, decent of Marseille Tribe of Gauls, Clan Macpherson, Clan Macleod, Clan McDonald of Scotish and House of Puebla of Spanish. "A typical American Mutt" as the saying goes. But I know my culture from both sides of the pond. 😁 Applying Native knowledge to researching ancient Native European cultures, as an activist in the Reclamation Movement, it's clear to me that Sliepnir originated as an eight legged Bison, as found in Paleolithic cave paintings "Picto-writing" as many of us American Natives call it. It's a system of writing based on concepts within the human psyche, expressed through geometrics as opposed to phonetics. It's like if you were to ask someone to draw a stick man, it would be the same anywhere in the world, a stick mountain being a triangle, also communicating stability, like a tripod. Relationship not object. The Picto-writing in the caves of Europe are more elaborate but I'm convinced it's the same thing. Comparing Nordic "Mythology" to Paleolithic Picto-writing in Europe, it becomes self-evident that the story of Búri being licked out of the ice by Auðhumla tells us of an historical event when we transformed from a hunter-gatherer society to an agricultural society at the end of the Ice-Age. The Bison being replaced by the domestic cow and the horse. In the words of John Trudell "Everyone of us came from a Tribe at some point in our evolutionary history." We Live Recommend song, applied to our relationship with our ancestors "My Heart Will Go On" By Celine Dion Your life is not about you; your life is about your relationship with existence. Find right relationship. All My Relations 🙏🏽🪶🦅🌲
Wish everyone understood that in the USA.My son reminded me it's time to heal ,let go of what's been holding your moving forward & live ,😂 Life IS too short ! Loved all the drums ,yes I feel it in my core ❤Miss you so much JOHN BOY !!

For all those who are saying "I'm Hispanic / Mexican"... You are feeling something because deep down you already know you are indigenous. Mexican, Hispanic etc etc are all names given to us by colonizers who have succeeded in making us feel like we are outsiders on our own lands. Don't take that sh*t from them; take it back. We must continue to decolonize ourselves by embracing our indigenous roots and heritage. You are beautiful, valid, and belong. 💖
I have Cherokee Roots on my mom and my dad’s side and just listening to these songs fills my heart with so much pride, blessings, love, and long life to my brothers and sisters! ❤
Thank you for sharing, my great grandfather was mi'qmac but since he moved to Boston, he didnt pass on any of the traditions so it is really a gift to hear these ancient chants and learn about the culture. I love the sense of community.
A few years ago i was working with a medicine man, we were in Ottawa. The Mikmac chiefs were there to meet in Ottawa, they came to see us and they sage this song to us. Was the first time i ever heard the song and i fell in love with the song. Thank you for sharing.❤
i went to one of these with twice as many drums and people singing... yes i felt something in my chest from the amount of drums ... it was f*cking awesome
I have probably listened to this 100 times now, no joke. This sends such powerful energy through me. I get goosebumps listening each time. What an amazing song. Strong, united, all as one. Thanks to the uploader.
What’s funny, is all of us are native to earth. Everyone used to live like the tribes of America. All of us used to be hunter gatherer/trading warrior societies. Really, the tribes of America were the last living ones. These demonstrations of music bring all people allllllll the way back to the beginning when all we had was drum and voice. Even before language, music of some sort like this was played probably 10,000 of years ago.
My Father used to say that my Mom, who is from Nova Scotia, had Mi'qMac ancestors. I was so disappointed to learn that wasn't the case after getting my DNA results. I grew up in Northern Ontario and went to Powwows on Manitoulin Island and brought my Son who was just as mesmerized as I was. Beautiful people, beautiful memories.
Every tribe's drums have amazing meanings. Weather it be Mother Earth's heartbeat, a story of your life (my culture, Yup'ik culture) or to tell stories. I can feel the drum beat in my spirit and it makes so happy and proud to be native. Quyana (Thank you) for this amazing video!!
I'm in Ireland and have no connection to these people but this is deep and stirs something inexplicable in my soul. This is special and a big thank you to those participating and whoever recorded and shared this. 🙏🇮🇪🙏🇮🇪
There is actually a strong connection bewtween irish people and native american people. Native american helped irish peoples during the great famine, and since that day they are brothers.
We have been in the America’s for millions of years and we r still strong and they might of killed our ancestors but our spirit our power our culture our language our chants of music still live on as u can see we r still powerful indigenous culture pride people may our ancestors live on threw us for few more trillions of years blessings to our culture and people
Millions of years? How that? Our race the Homo Sapiens exist only 300.000 years. And the first of the Homo Sapiens came ca. 40.000 years ago to America and thats not millions of years. And the nativ Americans aren't Homo Erectus or Denisova humans or even Homo Habilis.
Not trying to be funny, but I have a conspiracy theory that maybe the us government is trying to kill indigenous peoples with type 2 diabetes. The us government plan all along has been to eradicate indigenous tribes.
@@jarlnils435 Oh shut up. Whiner. Maybe he's Just saying that as a figure of speech. Stop listening to the debunked professors who like to rewrite history with myth. And their fake pseudo science. No The Redman did not come from China or Mongolia etc,etc,.... God just put them here.
Thank you for this powerful channeling of our unity and respect for each other, the Earth and our ancestors. It calls me home every time. Msit No'kmaq.
Lets do it again for in memory of all the children who were ne er allowed to go home, for the missing ,murdered and stolen sisters and brothers who will never come home and for all their families who have only memories may the Creator of all life hold their hands in the afterlife aho
This Honor Song Mi'gmaq gave me peace in my heart and mind. Our River on Tule River California Federal Recognized Reservation; went dry for the first time in my life. But I'm so thankful for Mother 🌎. She brought back some of the water and just as soon as water was back. Things didn't change they just got worse. But hopefully those that metaphorically don't do as one should; hey I do things backwards just so I can get them correct. That don't work for everyone and to those that made fun of me. I will Pray To Creator for forgiveness and struggle like the mixed blood that I am.
That one voice that was so high pitched in the second half of the song was awesome. He or she should be featured in some songs. loved the whole thing too.
It’s one of my favourite things in powwow music! It’s a backup singer, usually a woman who sings an octave higher compared to the other singers. It’s in most powwow music and a popular backup singer I recommend is Fawn Wood who backups for Cree Confederation (pls correct me if I got the wrong powwow group). She also makes her own music as well!
I believe it is the gentleman on screen left...he puts his hand to his throat and hits that pitch... In vids like this, we ate hearing the heart of those that sing and drum...the actual energy at that moment, in that place was most certainly I credible... A proverb To dance is to pray, To pray is to heal.... I believe it applies to drumming as well... To drum is to pray, to pray is to heal.... May we ALL heal...
Correction...it is the young lady in grey tank top and braids hard right with the fan...at 1:00 you can see her inhail as she sings...and can see her finish her singing and straighten her braids. The one holding his neck on left is giving the whoops.
Holy shit, the amount of life and strength in just a few dozen voices. I'm a settler who is honoured to have a number of Mi'gmaq friends. Sending all the love, hope, and power from Attawandaron territory. And no one need EVER make the mistake of believing the Indigenous Peoples to be dead and gone: you are ALIVE.
Much love respect and admiration from Italy. Powwow is in my bucket list I'm gonna take my wife and my mother. May the Great Spirit bless your life with beauty strength and peace
u need a time to understand this music or what did we say .this culture ...yes this kind of singing give power and energy greetings from middle east ..Native music fan
Grüße aus Deutschland und vielen Dank für das teilen diesen fantastischen Songs mit den Trommeln. Meinen größten Respekt für alle Native American und First Nations. 😀
I may not know what they are singing but the sound of the drum sounds beautiful together. May your singing bring healing to your people and your land and also to your ancestors who felt the brutality from people who took your land. ONE NATION ONE LOVE❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful music! I have been to powwows with 3 nations so far and there IS something special about this music. I'm not native but the way this music makes me feel tells me we ARE brothers and sisters. God bless you all.
Native cultures from different regions on this planet are very unique and beautiful. I found that almost all native cultures on this planet have their traditions on how to get along with nature very well. That's why they can exist for generations after generations. We can learn a lot from them on how to get along with nature.
Our Spirit is One, those who came before us are Honored and Proud to See and Hear their Children Thank You all for Sharing may the Sprits of Nature be with u
I love this Song and the Man's. The Song and Drums are so powerful and mystic. The Voices of this Man's are so amazing. Thanks for uploading. Many Greetings from Germany 💕🙏
Wow how incredibly moving. This brought me to tears. The unity, the honor, the power of their voices. Song both comes from and reaches deep into our being. Amazing!
Mesmerising 🤩🤩🤩 I sound of the drums goes straight to my heart Beautiful first inhabitants of the land strong and proud Let your traditions continue to florish🥰 I could listen for hours!!!
I think this is the best one and I've heard it with other mixed videos. If I had this on CD, I'd play it in my car really loud..It really get the adrenalin going ....Thinking of Anna Mae Pictou....
we dont sing like this at home,, OKLAHOMA,, But this is so good and intriguing plus everybody is so in sync,, on top,, of that so many drums going at once amazing nice!! 7 drums, #UNITY
Those honor beats always give me the goosebumps. Back home the guys drumming would sing the miq-maq honor song. Passamaquoddys should have our own honor song or do we? Not sure. I never participated really in the ceremonies. Sure do miss dancing. It's only been since 1991 I participated in our reservations celebrations ceremony. My mom worked really hard on what I wore. I was proud to dance in that. It was alot of leather and hot that day. While most were copying othter tribes ceremonial outfits. We went original, the way our ansestors dressed. Now I'm blabbing. Just had a proud to be native moment. Koselomol Pasamaquoddy nation!!!!
Greetings from Australia, I have heard of you Mi'gmaq's but this is the first time I have seen you drumming. Very impressed, quality of the film work exceptional!
Kyle Wolfe damn right when the Calvary or the white colons who wanted to kill them....when they would here those drums they knew indeginous people meant business!!!
I am a Cro... a mix of White, Black, and Native American. Though I look like a White European, I identify deeply with all of my "native" or primal ancestors... those who lived closely with Mother Earth and in balance with their natural environment. Be they Saami, English, Celtic, Germanic, tribal west coast Africans, or Native American... they are my people and I love and respect them for their contribution in making me who I am. Thank you for making this powerful video... It really fosters a sense of primal connection to my people and to Spirit and the universe when I listen to it. Pow wow music always moves me to tears. So proud of my heritage and these people. Mitakuye Oyasin (we are all connected), ~RavenCro
Never seen this before. “We are humans.“ what a doing .Think it’s empowering to the human race. No robots no machines. Power to your race thanks for your tribe. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍
