This is an 8 minute song that felt like a 5 minute song. I thought they did an incredible job keeping it interesting and not letting it get repetitive. This is a great closer...this is one you have to sit and chew on for awhile. A lot of details that I missed on the first listen.

Found in Far Away Places will always resonate as my favorite album from them and probably of all time. I was lost in my career, on a bus headed up a mountain and it paired with the towering vastness of scenery. Dissonant, airy and different album for them. Anyone agree?

My favorite too man. Most progressive and the lyrics really resonate. I think it’s Luhr’s best work and the most experimental album they’ve put out.

Fifap is the golden album for the true ABR fans. This song very much shows influences from fifap, which is why alot of us love it so much. Hard agree man 🤘

#1 for me as well. Well, aside from Constellations which has a permanent #0 spot because its classic. Came at just the right time in my life. Everlasting Ending pretty much saved my life. so good.

@@Anthony-pq4vr Exactly! Mariana’s Trench was what made me fall in love with ABR. Every one of their album pulls up the memory of connecting to the album.

ABR has always had some really interesting 5-8 minute songs here and there with odd time signatures and jazzy sections. For a band that's known for being unashamedly American metalcore, they do delve into the progressive side here and there. And this song is freaking incredible.

I remember discovering them at warped tour way back. I was into metal and only there to party but abr really hooked me. Breakdowns plus melody and great stage presence. Leveler to this day is top 3 albums by them. Carpe diem and divisions will forever bang. I see them whenever they come to NYC regardless if they haven't broken any new ground in a while, they've broken enough ground to earn my money.

Finally saw them live this weekend at Heart Support Fest in Orlando. Wish they would have played this, to mix up the rhythm, they went heavy and fast the entire time. that guitar work is (and has been) some of the best in the metal seen for 20 years.

As a solid ABR fan for 12 years and throughout college, I can say imo this has been their most technical, synchopated proggy song since Leveler and Phantom Anthem. For me this is also their best one off their upcoming album so far. The structure is a promising piece for the band. Having said that, my favorite album will still be LEVELER as I'll always remember the time I could play all their songs off that album on drums live.

Really loving all the singles, best stuff they've done in a while imo, songwriting is really top notch and both features are aces in my book. My favorite album from ABR is Rescue and Restore, as it's the one that got me into them!

Really great track fro the boys. Two things I wish was that Spencer had a bit more of a mark on this track with some more of his lows. I also wish it ended a bit different. I maybe expected a heavy ass breakdown to end things so I was left a little let down with that ending. Overall I’m looking forward to this album.

I really like the lyrics on this track. I was waiting for something to surprise me at the mid point, because in my opinion a nearly 8 minute song should be just a little more interesting. That aside, I did like this one as much as anything they've done since Rescue and Restore (my favourite album of theirs).

Best album was Messengers for me and despite the fact they're insanely talented they sound exactly the same for the last 15 years!! And your second cons sum that up perfectly, not that their songs are boring but they are... Nothing happens to me hearing them now, no high or down sections, just a single line of sound for 4 min... In the end, not a band i enjoy listening to anymore. It's okay, they do what they love, wish'em the best.

Great track. I think with album context it could be even better but I can’t help but feel a little underwhelmed considering it’s an 8 minute track with Spencer. I think they could’ve brought the heat a bit more with a track this long called Reckoning

So my favourite album is messengers. I have been a fan since finding them on MySpace when they had just put out Thrill Seeker, and for me I don’t think they ever quite reached the highs of Messengers. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE constellations and certain tracks from the albums after, but I don’t know…I am just never blown away like I was back in the messenger days.
@richburnsred
@richburnsred Год назад
@@prenticejones7452 I think it’s just that they perfected this particular style with that album, so anything else they have done after sounds a bit derivative of it, and doesn’t quite hit those highs. I really love the band, and I also respect them for staying true to who they are. Just love those early albums 🤷🏻‍♂️😅

I’ve been a fan of these dudes since they were touring “Messengers” and that’s still my favorite album, although “Constellations” is a close 2nd. I agree that this track was a nice step in the right direction for them, but I still didn’t get punched in the face like I hoped I would have.

Personal album ranking: 1. Found in faraway places (Martyr, Blackwood, Majoring in the minors, Twenty one grams) 2. Constellations (White Washed, Mariana Trench) 3. Phantom Anthem (Coordinates, Lifeline) 4. Rescue & Restore (Fault Line, Provisions, Animals) 5. Guardians (Narratives, Dismembered Memory, Paramount) 6. Messengers (Back Burner, Truth of a liar) 7. Leveler (40 Nights) 8. Thrill seeker (Meh.. not enjoying the mixing) top4 could be interchanged tbh. Rescue and Restore and Found in faraway places are the most melodic and it's easy to tell they experimented a bit here without over-doing it, awesome albums. The only albums I didn't connect with are leveler and Thrill Seeker for some reason. Messengers isn't higher for me, because once you heard Backburner & Truth of a liar (which are exceptionally good), the others don't bring anything new to the table and just sound the same. Constellations pretty much improved upon messengers imho with adding more variety other than just breakdowns.

Very interesting track. To me, it is more lyrically driven. The talent and musicality on display is top shelf, of course and as usual. Maybe the “big” moments in the music were intentionally underweighted because that wasn’t the song the band was intending to write with this one. It’s not like ABR somehow went for the big moments and came up short, they deliver the biggest of moments all over their discography, so the lack of specific impact points in the music comes off as intentional.

This song feels like Dark Solitare from Obsidian does: before it ends you're really looking for one final hit, to dissipate all the energy both the song itself and the album built up. This ends with tension it feels. Was my biggest complaint about Obsidian and looks like I'll have it here. Weird writing tbh, because ABR doesn't usually feel like this. I thought Backfire was the same way. Look at Three Fountains for example. Perfect closer.

Ya I used to love ABR, but to me it just feels the same. There’s a little progression in this song which is nice. But overall nothing HITS. Spencer’s part is by far the best section of this song. No disrespect to ABR, they’re incredibly talented there’s no denying that. But these last couple songs haven’t been enough to get me back on board with them.

I think a big thing for me is they haven’t done too much to expound their sound over the last few albums. While some people are happy with that I just need a little more from them. It’s just all stuff I’ve heard from them before for the most part. Still love and respect them though!
@paulvachon6538
@paulvachon6538 Год назад
@Camden Smith I agree. The other issue I have that a lot of people might completely disagree with, is that their songs on the past couple records just sound so busy. Theres only been a few songs that have stood out from the rest. Everything else kind of blends together. But I'll continue to check out their new stuff and I'll go see them anytime they come around to my city.
