I love that she laughs in that final moment, at the perfect impossibility of everything coming together, not in disbelief, but in simple, joyous acceptance of this thing that was clearly meant to be.
@@Ellis_Hugh you're right. She smiles because She reunited with the 2 men She loves the most. And i am surprised to see Louis running to Central Park to see Lyla, even tough that woman in Chicago spoke about her honeymoon
He is a great actor. He owns a factory, he killed a vicious ogre, he became a talented musician, became a talented painter, then now a current doctor, he portrayed different character in every movie and drama he is in. He is one of the most promising actor in his generation.
This is the reunion scene, and it's perfect. You can see what's going through the characters minds without a word being spoken. You see it in the joy in Layla's face and the little laugh she gives when she sees Louis. And you see it in the shock on Louis'face when he sees August. But the best part of the scene is right at the end before the screen goes black, August smiles and begins to turn. He's turning around to see his parents, but he's smiling because he already knows they're there. Adding anything more than this would have been unnecessary, and would have ruined the feel of the whole scene.
This movie is everything. Everything. It's perfect, it's beautiful, it speaks to your soul, it makes sense, it makes you feel something. It is a movie that demands to be seen and heard, you don't just walk away from it like nothing happened... A cinematic masterpiece ❤
When I was younger I use to dream that this would be how I would find my birth parents. The innocence of it all had me weeping as a child because I knew this wouldn't be my reality. I've always been a pessimist. I know this to be true, just not for me. I got over it, but every so often I come and listen to this song to ground me, and keep me on my journey of self love and awareness. I'm sure some people meet their birth parents in cool ways so that brings me peace.
It really doesn’t get much better than this. The music alone is gorgeous, but paired with the story, the performances…it’s transcendent, really something special. And the little girl’s part is so amazing, you want it to go on forever, but it ends in an almost stressful way, showing that things of such beauty don’t last long down here.
Look at it this way as well. All beautiful things don't last, but it carries on whether it's still beautiful or not so the instruments carries on that weight.
I totally agree. When I need to erase the chaos of life from my mind I always pull this up to recapture my peace of mind. It is beautiful and I pray they never attempt to remake it. in this case the original is an exquisite and priceless work of genius. ❤❤❤❤
Imagine that the boy you’re dueling guitar with at the park is actually your son, who you don’t know even exist...but thanks God that you’re the one who made your son go to his concert, if it’s not you won’t be able found the love of your live and found out that you have a son. Mother: A successful cellist Father: An amazing singer and and great guitarist Son: A music genius Imagine how their house would be like.. maybe full of music..
This movie is laughed at because it's about musicians, but the music is awful. Anyone can slap a guitar in open tuning and sound decent. The chances of him meeting another guitar player using the same non-standard tuning are absurdly low. The Dad played in an Irish rock band so it made sense that his guitar was tuned DADGAD. If I happened to meet some kid that also had a guitar tuned in DADGAD I would honestly wonder if I was related to them. Just like in that Liam Neeson movie where he noticed one of the bad guys accidentally picked up a left-guitar and the hero noticed it. But the movie is about a series of seemingly unrelated happy accidents that bring a family together. If you can view it as pure entertainment, that's great.
@@sandraalasco1419 Think it was called Commuter. It’s Die Hard on a train with the Liam Neeson. Late in the movie he deduces that a passenger is with the bad guys because the man is right handed and is carrying a lefty guitar.
13 years ago I walked my baby girl’s coffin down the aisle to this song. In this sweet voice we hear the hope of heaven, and look to the day Jesus reunites our family when we are fully in His presence where there is no more death, no more tears, no more sorrow.
Shit. I know it's late, but I'm so sorry for your loss. No parent should have to bury their child, especially as a baby when they haven't yet experienced the world.
Such a great movie, I need to watch it again. Sometimes I wish there was a sequel of what happened next but it had a nearly perfect ending so a sequel would have just messed it up
In the sequel screen play you find out that dad's a drunk with an Irish temper and moms a helicopter parent with daddy issues that plague the relationship. The kid, who has been on his own til now, can't take it and he leaves in the night with a woman from the local county fair. The kid becomes a game operator and marries a bar fly. Just kidding
I always return to this movie as i love music. The ending was perfect but how i wish they give a post credit scene where they hugged each other as a family. Revealing to Louis that he had a son.
great movie .. demonstrates how connected we all have the capability to be .. he sensed the presence of his parents, closed his eyes and imagined them together, and then no words were needed between the three of them .. really beautiful
I know right? Other films have actors do almost a thirty or forty minute dialogue, and in few films such as August Rush they don't need to speak, just a nonverbal gesture. And it brings out emotions.
I need the second part of this movie ,fine don't give a second part just give me 30 seconds where they get to hug him that's I'll I want. Omg I'm crying and I've seen this movie countless of times omg this part kills me 😭😭😭😭😭😭
ME AS WELL!! 💜💜 YOU LOOK young BUT if you like the tall dark hair HANDSOME guy CHECK out a movie FROM 90's ? called, Dangerous Minds with Michelle Pfeiffer an A REAL 💜 throb Emilio Ramirez played by ONE FINE YOUNG gentleman Wade Dominguez but he unfortunately WAS A victim OF suicide!😭😭
This movie was about Lila looking for her long lost son and Louis looking for his long lost love... But it was actually the father and the son that found each other *tear*
Indeed this is one of the most underrated movies. I am glad to be among those that have seen it. The joy in the boy's face when he is involved in music makes you imagine what he's feeling. Even his recent role in The Good Doctor is master class
A truly exceptional film! The story is very well crafted and balanced, and I cannot fathom why it only received one Oscar award. 'August Rush' is a beautifully crafted movie that seamlessly blends together the power of music, the importance of family, and the magic of love. The performances are outstanding, especially Freddie Highmore's portrayal of the musically gifted Evan Taylor. The film's unique approach to storytelling, coupled with its stunning visuals and breathtaking soundtrack, make it an absolute must-watch for anyone who appreciates the beauty of music and the power of love. I highly recommend this film to anyone who wants to experience a truly captivating and inspiring story.
I love this movie for so many reasons, (1)it was the first movie that I worked as extra in.(2) I fall deeply in love with entertainment world because of this movie. I remember bunch of us meeting in Central Park around 2am in the morning to play concert goers. I had an amazing time!!!!🙌🏿
August said "that music was all around us.." and he is right. He wanted to make sure his parents would find him. I've seen this movie five times and I'll keep watching it damn it.😁 I just love this movie!! 💜
I’m so thankful to the teacher that show us this in 7th grade. We all cried together and every time in high school we all passed each other we’d nod to one another in respect for the beautiful things in life.
Not a dry eye here either (and we've watched the film countless times). It has a powerful message, beautiful music, and an excellent performance by young FH (and the rest of the cast as well ofc) but hats off to him
I am beyond in love with this movie. I have always lived classical, but this takes it to a whole new level - each time I watch this movie I get chills. The music is so beautiful and transcendent - it exceeds beyond the meaning of music. This is what music is supposed to do, it’s supposed to touch your soul.
@@tashatashianaboodhoo6164 i spent the last year or so watching the good doctor wondering the opposite. I knew about Charlie and the chocolate factory but I was like "nah he difinetly from somewhere else '
Just finished this movie for the first time. This movie is the first time tears have fallen from my eyes since the day I learned my mother would not survive much longer in 2020. Now it is this, Forrest Gump when He talks to Jenny, and Reign over me when he talks about his little girls in the counselor’s office.
Still take me back when i was in high school obsessed over Keri Russell and the music of this film and innocence of all three characters especially Evans and keri Russell. Freddie highmore's eyes can make you feel things. They have such longing in them
I love August Rush esp. this last part he felt his mom and dad is there...so very touching scene..time and again i always watch this beautiful movie with the late Robin Williams♥️
The movie was wonderful . I enjoyed it from the beginning to the final scene. Robin William was terrific in it . Freddie Highmore is an amazing actor and I love him in the good doctor.
It was bittersweet I was happy but wanted more. Love this scene 🤧gosh this movie is beautiful embodies hope faith and undying love. Love reaches high and never fails. 💝
I remember seeing this in theatres with my dad. I can remember sitting in the second to last row watching this scene and seeing out of the corner of my eye my dad with tears in his eyes. He doesn't get that emotional, especially over a film but this film, especially this moment in the film, deeply touched him and I. This film is so beautiful and I am treasure my dvd copy of it. Thank you so much for uploading this scene.
I had never heard of this film, but the gorgeous Kerri Russell caught my eye. Unsure of what I was seeing without knowledge of the story line, I had to research it. Now, I must find this film to watch!
to all who read this, and all who don't...sending you infinite peace, perfect health, abundant wealth, joyous freedom, and unconditional love... 🙏🏽💜💜💜💜💜🙌🏽
someone wrote about the deleted scene with Louis and Marshall and its true they should have kept that in. It explains a lot especially when Louis says "there is something out there for me I can hear it" and what if she needs me. Love, Love this movie.
I remember my ex boss bringh this movie and said watch it, i said boring, i dont wanna watch it, then i watch it just because he insisted and ther i was crying and loving it, what a movie. I went to my boss and said Thank you, i loved it.
Pretty comforting to see a man, not afraid to say that, Andro! That is a great message for a false narrative hammered into the minds of little boys. God gave us a ♥️, He gave us tear ducts...And He Gave Us A Voice! 👏
@@joycebrannen1943 Not afraid to say what? that I cried? lolol I am always saying it, I really don't care what people think about me, that's the most important thing here, I dont like to follow the sheeps, if I like something I say it, if I don't like something I say it too, I have friends who cried and they don't say a world to anybody JUST BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY R GOING TO BE JUDGE BY PEOPLE, LOLOLOLO HOW FUNNY PEOPLE WHO DONT EVEN FEED THEM OR CARE ABOUT THEM OR KNOW THEM, not my case, my family always said fight for whatever things u r happy if people don't like it, their problem, and I have seen this sometimes people have silly ideas and then there I go explaining my IDEAS, MY point of view about life, 2 weeks later they r talking like I WAS TALKING, with my SAME IDEAS, and then I think well they were just waiting for someone to explain to them that YOU CAN HAVE YOUR OWN IDEAS NO MATTER WHAT. BUT WE NEED TO RESPECT EACH OTHER. respect is the key. One week I go I said to a group of friends I cried with the movie The pursuit of happyness, and one guy said, OMG did you cry what a p**** I said what if I cried, I cried because it remind me of a period in my life when I was broken, not just about the money but also my spirit was broken, and I remembered so many things watching that movie, I cried a lot and I let everything out from my system. the guy just listened and said im sorry I couldn't cried cause I was with my cousins but I wanted too, See my point. thanks for your words God bless you.
