There’s one thing I still don’t know. My psat kept asking me to find XY and I didn’t know how. Do you have any videos made on that?

if you're proficient with the systems of equations then #2 (9:00) gets easier if you cancel x instead of y. by multiplying the first equation by 5 and the second by 3, both equations end up with 15x meaning you can subtract them and they will cancel. then you can solve for y and get 6 without having to find x at all and waste time plugging back in.

Thank you so much John, your videos has really helped me in my maths prep for my SAT. There's this thing I'll need you to make video on: "interpreting linear equations". Thus, the question gives you an equation and ask what's the meaning of let say b or y or m in the given function(y=mx+b)I've been battling with that and been on youtube to get me a videos that's gon' enlighten but to no avail and I know you can make simple to my understanding. It should be x1/x2=y1/y2=c1/c2. Basically all the proportions are equal. Think about it this way: What it takes for two expressions to hve infinitely many solutions? It mean they're essentialy the same ! So the proportions have to hold equal

3:45 no solution means two lines are parallel, which means they have same slope(m) with different y intercept. change both equation into y = mx +c and m1 = m2, and you got it. but his technique is faster.

in the second part you multiplied by 2 the equation to make it equal to the other one and thus be able to make it disappear, but what happens when the equations are odd and we cannot make them disappear that way? for example 5y and below 9y. PD: ur videos are so helpful!
