Got exactly the same motor and nvr switch. I was waiting for someone to produce exactly this pairing, and as far as I know Woodworkers workshop are the only ones to provide such a unit in the uk. Had it nearly a year now and I’m absolutely delighted with it. It’s comfortably paid for itself in time savings. I should state that I didn’t have a router table beforehand.

I've had a JessEm Rout-R-Lift for years (15+ maybe?). I have the flat height adjustment tool and I can really spin it for gross adjustment. Not a big fan of the bayonet rings in the middle. Sometimes they really get jammed in there! No mounting flange to bear against so it's nice to see that upgrade. Use it in good health!

The good thing is now you'll be able to swap your new Jessem/AUK solution for Incra's plates and their clean sweep magnetic metal inserts which are very good (I have two such plates, one for a TRA001 router and another for a bosch 1617EVS router and can highly recommend them). The Incra and Jessem plates are the same size IIRC, which is a big plus in my book. I'm wondering if you ever did make use of the tilt capability of the Sautershop plate.
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited Год назад
We have several router table set ups in our workshop including the Incra Mast-R-lift with MagnaLOCK Clean Sweep insert plates and Clean Sweep box, fantastic for housings and any work where the fence dust extraction is covered over. We also have a TRA001 on a Incra 7518-T plate, possibly the most economical pre-drilled set up for above the table adjustment. We have the Marman (Sauter) tilting lift but have not required that function yet, all our lifts are the same US standard size so east for us to demonstrate all options.

@RueFondary
@RueFondary Год назад
@@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited The Incra 7518-T and TRA001 set up is good provided one has good access underneath the table to the locking mechanism and to the power switch/spindle lock of the TRA001. Arguably the Incra 690890 / Bosch 1617EVS (North american 110V router) setp up is as good for a little bit less money (it is a little bit less powerful, but it is also more compact). Both provide over the table adjustment with no additional accessories and are compatible with collets from 6mm/ 1/4" to 12mm / 1/2". The advantage of the Bosch router is that additional bases (plunging or fixed) are readily available, which means that one can very easily swap between under table and hand held applications.

Hello Peter, another very informative video from a very skilled Brit. My thoughts on router lifts is :- 1/ as most routers have depth adjustment "built in " why on earth do you need a router lift? With some minor mods to th baseplate of most routers you can adjust the depth from above the table top just the same as the triton does , dont forget, not everyone can afford the daft prices being asked for router lifts . I wish you every success in all your coming videos and look forward to nlearning a lot more from your good self.
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited Год назад
In the Uk only a few routers have built in above the table adjustment, the Incra MagnaLOCK 7518-T is pre-drilled for both fixing and adjusting the Tritons. The Incra MagnaLOCK 621625 AL is pre-drilled for the old Elu 177, DeWalt 625 and the Trend T11 which has above table winding capabilities, great combos when set up.

I bought the AUKTools router two years ago from WWW Ltd. It is attached to the Incra Mast-R-Lift II and is surrounded by the CleanSweep box, with the control box on the end of the router table. I added two sets of quick disconnect connectors to the 6-conductor cable between the control box and the motor. One set is inside the CleanSweep box and the other set is between the CleanSweep box and the router table enclosure. This allows me to remove the router/lift assembly from the table and remove the router table top or CleanSweep box from the frame without removing the control box. I wasn't concerned about the warranty since I had to also change the UK-style power plug with a Schuko plug.

I have had the Incra Jessem lift/plate and the 2400w AUK router sitting in my office looking longingly at me while I get around to installing them. I noted too that the very long hex driver they include doesn't actually fit into the lift mechanism to open it up as you found, though it does fit into the winding and locking mechanism on the top of the plate. When you've dropped near £900 on the router, lift and cleansweep plates you'd think they'd get bits like that right.
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop Год назад
Interesting, thanks! Yes, odd lack of attention to detail at this kind of price-point. 👍
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited Год назад
Sorry you have had an issue with the hex drive, I have been in contact with JessEm regarding this today. It appears some of the hex bars may have had a thicker zinc coating than specified, this has now been rectified in the production process. We will happily have it back for inspection but the issue should be easily be resolved by light rubbing with a Scotchbrite pad.

Hi Peter, cheers for the video. I bought this combo a few weeks ago with the Incra plate, it'll be interesting in your longer term feedback. Mine replaced a Triton TRA001 which now feels like a toy in comparison, the AUK certainly cuts smoother with less chatter and more power authority. However, like you, I have niggles. Yes, that clamp hex bolt didn't fit right either and TBH having anything to do with the lift (or plate in my instance) being imperial which is a real PITA. I noticed that in the promotional videos the router seems to have a thick silicone cable coming from the NVR and the cable it came with is a bit cheap and not what I'd expect from this price point. I ended up removing the crimped connectors and feeding through which I am glad I did as one wasn't fitted properly and they were all loose. It also had sharp edges on the casting of the red plastic which again, felt like a Katsu special. The motor takes an eon to spin down or change speeds. Also, do you find the E-stop button excessively proud? I've knocked it several times and wondered why it wouldn't start up! Sorry, that was a bit of a whinge-dump but it's just been compounded by missing your discount! Would be interested in your thoughts.
@10MinuteWorkshop
@10MinuteWorkshop Год назад
Thanks! I’ll have a much more informed impression of the combo after I’ve used it a bit, but interesting to hear you also had issues with the allen key. The spin up / wind down hasn’t felt excessively long to me, but it may become more of an issue as I use it! Re the stop button, I initially thought the router was broken as it wouldn’t turn on; turns out I hadn’t realised that mine had the stop button already depressed! It pulls out quite a long way, and of course if a hand is incapacitated you want to be able to nudge the switch with a hip or leg to shut everything down. Haven’t caught it accidentally (yet) but as I say, it’s only just gone in the bench. More to follow on this one! 👍👍

Hi Peter, I have the Jessem router lift too but find that when you set it, the operation of locking it causes a height adjustment of a few hundredths of a millimeter each time. (If you repeatedly lock/unlock it, it "walks a ways" before moving no more.) Even when locked, after operating the router, the ending height is sometimes lower than before the cut by a few hundreds of a millimeter. Do you have the same experience with yours? (I can't swear whether it's lift error or Wixey height gauge error, but it's annoying.) I'm also happy with the much quieter AUK motor I have but alas I got it just before the new version that takes the ER-20 collets so I'm still stick with the older type...
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited
@WoodWorkersWorkshopLimited Год назад
I use the iGaging Snap Check for my router cutter height set up, like the Wixey the readout is very sensitive and accurate and can change a few hundreds of mm with hand pressure. I am old school so always adjust my machines on the upstroke of the threads, there should be no need on the Incra and JessEm lifts as they both have backlash nuts built in. It could be yours needs a slight tweak, I have not found mine moving when or once it's locked off. If you are having issues give us a call. We also have offer an upgrade discount for owners of previous versions on our AUK routers - just incase you feel the need.

Are there any "advanced" router lifts that actually accepts regular hand routers like a Triton? It seems they all work with router spindles only. I have a Triton attached to an Incra plate which leverages the Triton's built-in lift, but the motion it rough and the lift locking mechanism is on the machine, so not easy to get at when it's enclosed in a cabinet.
