Aura is for you if:
✅You want comprehensive content filtering options, including different filter levels across apps, websites, and streaming services for each family member.
✅You want to be able to completely pause the internet.
✅You want to clearly understand your child’s internet habits, so you want to be able to view how long your child was online, how long they were on each app, etc.
✅You’re looking for parental controls that are extremely hard to get around.
✅You want excellent customer service available 24/7/365, connecting you to a real-life human in seconds.
✅You’re looking for a whole suite of digital products that protects your whole family against identity thieves and bad actors online.
Bark is for you if:
❌You’re looking for a service that monitors rather than completely blocks the things you don’t want your little ones to see.
❌You don’t need the ability to shut off the internet completely.
❌You have older kids, so you need less detailed usage analysis like your kid’s search history.
❌You have kids that are unlikely to quickly figure out how easy it is to get around Bark.
❌You’re okay with limited customer service only available over chat and email.
❌You only want parental controls, and you’re happy to pay extra for separate services to keep the rest of your family safe.
The team at Home Security Heroes recommends Aura for ultimate security. While Aura offers award-winning protection for your kids, it’s an all-in-one digital solution for the entire family. Combine top-notch identity theft protection with superior credit monitoring to keep all your loved ones safe.

Thanks for the detailed comparison. Going with Aura. Seems like the right choice for a teenager.

Thanks for the review, does Aura provide any use cases or capabilities in using these features to help secure the elderly?
@homesecurityheroes

I don't believe Aura has documentation for this, but I do know people who use parental controls for their elderly parents. This AARP article explains some of the ways they can be used to reduce the risk of elder fraud: www.aarp.org/home-family/personal-technology/info-2019/limiting-digital-access.html

I appreciate the time you took to present the two apps, however it seemed to me that you were more biased towards Aura. Do you represent them or have they requested you to promote them? Did you use the same equal incentive to research these two apps together, without a bias? You mention that you are part of a team on 9 online security experts? What are the credentials that make you an expert and who are the other 8? I ask all these questions because I really am looking to find out by doing my own research what would be a better choice between the two apps, but so far I feel I could not fully rely on this video to make a decision, since I found things might be missing. Might have to keep researching ... I guess.

Can aura or bark completely block the use of a browser? So block Firefox, Chrome, brave.... Anything like that? Can it also block the ability for the kid to download apps?

Does either one allow the parents to block or heavily monitor texts conversations between your xhild and a specific friend? We want to give a certain amount of freedom but there may be a friend or two we eant to watch out for. One is a kich older kid who may try to start something romantic with our kid. Thoughts?

If you really wanted to monitor conversations in great detail, you might consider mSpy. It's an invasive software but it will track everything your child is doing.

I just purchases Aura. My kid can just disable any blocked websites toggling the VPN, the app doesn't inform me when he does this. The program frequently disables apps and internet even when the time limits are not reached. It's also far less feature rich than Circle, it feels like a ghost app. I can't speak for Bark but jeez Aura is a pain. They did refund me very quickly though, Emily was great.

Thank you for the feedback. Sorry that there was such a gulf between Circle and Circle + Aura. I'll be addressing this in an upcoming video.

Did you find anything that works? We use Norton family controls and my son can easily disable it. He does a lot of coding, so I need something robust enough that he can't disable it.
